well fall of arnor had gondor involved, earnur (prince, later king of gondor) led a fleet north, sailed out of dol amroth, which might explain the helmet our thieving lad has. plus the elves stuck their noses in, led by glorfindel and cirdan. so definitely potential for elf, gondor, and/or fiefdom LLs on the good side. cool to see what else evil gets as well, personally hoping for men of carn dum, maybe with a werewolf hero to lead them (beorn's transform mechanics, but a lot weaker model overall) gives angmar a combat build so spirit casters+terror isn't your only viable option. like you could hav a Sack of Cardolan LL representing the mortal invasion forces, or Buhrdur's raiders LL with men, orcs, trolls, wargs and werewolves. lot of fun to be had there.
He is my favourite orc now. I can't wait till he gets released for all shenanigans he might cause. It's absolutely going to be faq straight away but I don't care. This rule has brought the fun factor back.
It all depends on if he keeps the Orc Captain's Heroic March. If he does then I can see him being used. The Scavenge rule is fun but not worth paying points for. He needs to have that base functionality to make it into lists.
I feel like it would be really cool if there was a standard orc troop with the scavenger rule and so you could have an entire warband with Nazthak heading it. Maybe the standard troop versions can't steal like Andril or something and only can take regular weapons just so it's not too overpowered? But I feel like something like that with just loads of orcs starting out with just daggers would be really funny and fun.
That might be too much, would be fun tho. Maybe a rule against them taking any named weapon. Tho an orc warrior with Thranduils additional eleven blade would be so fucking funny -Liam

I think he's actually got a bit of genuine potential depending on matchup honestly. I'd also be surprised if he lost march and only had defence, doesn't feel like that's something they'd do. Huge benefit of 3 might, only source of it outside the wk and Gully so really great for heroic moves -Liam
@@muesliman100 Both good points. Hear me out though. Depending on points, in a normal list, you are already likely bringing the WK, a barrow wight, and maybe a shade, or you are squeezing in Gully. If you want an orc captain, the mount is a must. I just think old mate needs too much support for his rule to go off in any meaningful way. Are you burning resources or bringing spectres to pull a model out of position? Banners will be pretty safe otherwise. Without march, his might is there for winning fights, you don't need heroic move so much in an Angmar list due to terror. He's a nice add on, and fun, I just think most of the time you bring him, he likely gets a spear or shield, maybe an elven weapon, and I don't really see that being a big advantage.
@@SimonMoston well if your opponent is spear supporting with a banner you can now pull the shield warrior from the front line, charge the banner with this lad and take their banner. Shade + no banner for opponents is going to be really annoying for them. Maybe the biggest problem is that the most meta lists do not really have such important equipment. Like dragon emperor, bears or assault on lothlorien, assault on helms deep, they don't have important non-mount equipment and there are often banner effects on hard to kill heroes. Witch-king and Suladan would be good targets though. As someone who runs Angmar without shade or ghulavar I think I could definitely make some space for this fellow, but that is definitely at least partially because of the fun and potential to be discovered from everything he could steal.
I share in everyone's joy about this absurd little scamp. But I am also unreasonably annoyed by GW's intro here: "he only starts the game with a dagger. Whilst that may seem like a major downside..." It's not a downside at all! Functionally, it's exactly the same as a sword!

Werewolves in LoTR do not transform, they stay the same always.

And he would fit in really well with a Buhrdur LL as he lead raiding bands of orcs and trolls
