Exactly! I don’t see it. I guess due to lack of screen time and every time he’s on screen he ask for company or try his best in front of people and then they say he’s annoying.

The thing is he only appears to be annoying when we are not seeing him, but the other characters know he's annoying, so when he gets screen time it's in his few likable moments.

I think derek and oona is both very special. Oona is big hearted and cool while her son is cute, annoying a bit but reasonable since he had no friends and a worse father
I think people only find him annoying because he's just a kid who's never been allowed to really find his own potential

@@candicehoneycutt4318 Right? He is a kid, kids as whole might be "annyoning" but that is who they are. When you forget to have fun like they do and only find them a hassle is when you really lost that last spark, Not necesarly but I think is sad.
@@TheJerbol He has "no friends and a worse father" because the plot says so he mustn't have, not because he showed actual undesirable traits. If else I am rather a bit sceptic about this show writer since many characters supposed to be compelling, they aren't, they are just asses

Wow Derek is literally my favorite character from the whole show and has been from the start. I find him so sweet, pure and funny and he is somewhat misplaced in his crazy family making him an outsider. I also find his reactions to his surroundings to be hilarious since he is so naive. These traits very much contrast the rest of the characters which is what makes him so unique in the show

You have to feel bad for the poor little dude, he was born to outrank his older half-sister (who resents him) as the future king of Dreamland and was given everything that Bean didn’t have like sword lessons and horse riding.
His mother practically ditched him to live a new adventurous life as a pirate queen (until he followed her) and his father went insane and the two advisers to the prince were making him a puppet.
The skillet joke is a slow cooker. Because I didn't care for it much in part 1 but now it gets a real good chuckle each time it's mentioned.

I hope he gets his Swan song and is a badass hero by the end but still a sweetheart. Everyone will eat their words and he’ll be the best king anywhere who doesn’t have to marry his daughters off because he makes friends with other kingdoms just by being his sweet self.

He’s my favourite I even remember dressing up like him for Halloween and someone in the comment section of a disenchantment video said I was going to get beat up and I laughed!
I have a theory he'd end up as some great king later down the line.

Derek is a mostly innocent child who is another victim of his father’s incompetence and his father’s ex-wife’s schemes. And, as a result of their failures, Bean doesn’t know how to treat him. The only annoying part is the failure of the writers and producers to make anything important of his, or any, of the characters.

@@afqwa423 Actually, KVN has helped out like how he saved Fox's life when Clarence betrayed everyone and hurt him by giving up a piece of him that caused him to go insane. He's also helped in important battles too. He may be extremely grating, but he's definitely helped at times. I think KVN purposely annoys people because he gets a kick out of it.

Considering who his father is, it's a surprise he turned out so sweet. Aside from his 'funny tingle' over taxidermy, he's alright and the best fit for kinghood. Will probably further dreamland's relation with Dankmire.

In real lif he is not annoying. I would hangout and be a good friend to him. This is kind of real too, I have a friend who acts like him before, I enjoyed hanging out to my other friend doing prank, drinking and do stupid stuff he is also part of the group, but we grow up and we've met last year Dec and boom my perspective change for him I enjoyed his talks and he is smart I've learned so many things about his knowledge on computers and ideas. I've learned not to judge people because they are different and they need respect.

Netflix sucks at continuing shows. Not even continuing they can’t even be bothered to finish most of their shows. What’s the point of having awesome first season if they have no rewatch value because you know they won’t have and end or be satisfying ,

He's modeled after Ralph Wiggum. Can't blame him, this is if Ralph had more than one liners. Sure there was an episode revolved around his crush on Lisa. But even then we only get a few scenes throughout the franchise.
