That's pretty cool. Very informative. I like Pie!

Thanks again! I've got mine up and running and works pretty well. I'm excited because I'm on the opposite side of the state from my rig and being able to key it up and change memories is very helpful. Someday I'll buy a Flex, until then I can remote into my 991a!
Have you checked out the video feature? You can replace the middle screen with a webcam pointing at your 991a, plugged USB into your Pi. I'm buying a webcam just for this feature!!!

Hello Carl, great news to hear you have it up and running. Yes, I am aware of the camera option but for me that would not really help much. I use it remotely and have designed all power for remote power up / down. I have also designed my network to remotely reboot and set up a daily reboot of the network just to give me assurance that when I access the radio it will work as designed. Not much I can do if something goes wrong, as for the next few months while I am working remotely. If the Raspberry breaks or the software crashes I am stuck with waiting until I can get back to fix. One thing I did find out last night is some hotels block ports on their internet. I am able to access the radio and server with the laptop connected to the hotel internet but I am unable to connect Mumble from the hotel network. My work around was to use the laptop to access and control the radio, but for audio I just connected Mumble from my phone for the audio. That resolved that issue with the hotel blocking the Mumble, and just using my cellphone for all the audio.
This issue only was with Mumble at the hotel. My Flex worked as if I was setting at the house.

@@kn4yba80 I'm using ZeroTier to redirect my IP address. Maybe that would help with your hotel issue. Basically all traffic goes through ZeroTier. It's free.
