After years of research I am convinced that this man cannot say anything but “heck yeah!”
Thanks for watching!
Only been watching for about 6 months but it appears to me he can catch the fish also.
Heck Yeah!!
That and "guys"
heck yeah ok guys
I am learning that patience and steadfastness is as important as equipment
100%
I think this is the most down to earth fishing video I’ve ever seen great job
Very slick handling the fish minimally and returning them healthy.
My favorite fly is the half back nymph. The fish just love it. Give it a try. This method is easy and very effective. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
Excited to see the chub!
Wow , what a great big bow ! Nice job....glad to see him swim back strong ....
Heck yeah me too!
Never leave home without flies. Keep up the great work brother. Tight lines
Thanks for watching
I've always had success just using a good fat worm .. letting it flow with the water..
Nice one returning the fish safe..
Interesting way to fish with fly and float/bobber. I have a different technique when fishing with fly and float/bobber my technique is casting it out reel fast 2-3 rounds and then reel really slowly in keep in minde that the line must have tension. I found it’s more fun for me but also loses less fish.
I die laughing everytime i watch him helicopter the chub back into the creek
What an awesome rainbow. Nice job and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all your videos!!! Very, very interesting and instructive! From Romania, best regards!
Thanks for watching!
After watching several of your videos I'm convinced you can catch trout on most anything and a lot is just marketing. I appreciate the videos
While trout do hit a lot of baits, he certainly makes it look a lot easier than it is.
Two slight adjustments that have proven super good for me. The first is to use a bubble float instead, you can cast a bit further and I like not being able to see it when I'm not gonna leave it sitting still. It's not an indication thing, it's a weight free float. The second is tipping the fly with a fake worm. The scent does a lot to help
Also, after getting a bit further in, I'd like to add the fact that you can use it for wet and dry flies. I have, at least
Great tips! Thanks for watching
Recently got back into fishing because of your channel. Keep the Vids coming.
Will do! Thanks for watching
Awesome video man. I can say without a doubt, the fly is one thing that I have never fished. Looks like I may need to give it a try. 🤷🏻♂️
Heck yeah!
excellent video guys. better handling of fish than most videos. Heck ya guys.
Thanks for showing how to catch trout using flies and a spinning rod.
Thanks for watching!
Brand new to this style of fishing, I want to learn it! Great video, can I do this at a lake w a bit of twitching? Also, can I ask your set up... how long a leader, do you use a split shot or any weight, what size fly and 6 pound test or? lol, ty!!
LOL, There will be 10 people at the Dam Monday morning. I remember years ago catching a 5lb bow there myself. Tuf place to land one if they get in that fast water. You ever go above the Dam for the Natives? Been years since I did. One of the largest Natives BROOKS I ever caught was there. Right at 14". They used to be plentiful. I hope the Native population up there is still strong. Take care.
Heck yeah it's still loaded!
Good to hear
Good job buddy! One of my favorite holes too!
Heck yeah!
I enjoy fishing a double nymph rig under a bobber. Copper John on top and a hares ear below. It’s very effective.
Heck yeah I bet!
My go to is by punisher its a duck feather jig awsome float n fly and comes in a bunch of colors
Heck yeah I'll have to check it out! Thanks for watching
Great video as always. Iv learned a ton of new techniques since watching your channel. Never tried this one. Definitely will next time out.
Heck yeah good luck out there!
The olive bugger is my all time best performer. Don't know why, it just works.
I’ve been float n fly fishing a couple years now
For bass
Using jig head flies
On fly rod
Get a 2-5 lb bass on a fly rod
You have a good time
I also get trout on them too
Depending on where in the lake I am fishing
Olive color best
I wonder if a little brown fly like that looks just like hatchery food to these trout. I've gutted stocked trout before and saw that they ate a bunch of random crap like small bits of leaves and little flower buds. They definitely learn quick though because these trout do holdover for a long time well in my area (PA).
Your likely onto something there. They do look like a little hatchery pellet. Thanks for watching!
Awesome fishing the Royal Coachman is a good choice to
Heck yeah that's a outstanding flie choice!
Another good video per the norm. Quite a week down here in NC. Excellent fishing persists in our delayed harvest streams. Wore them out all 5 days I went. Pressured to some degree at end of week but mini mags knocked them out. Keep the videos coming.
Heck yeah man! Sounds like a outstanding week of fishing!!
@@NRVOutdoors it was. I netted over 200 total, with 8 NC Citations to boot. 4 Browns over 20", 2 Rainbows over 20" and 2 BROOKS over 16" This week winds up our Delayed Harvest stockings. They revert to catch and keep the 1st Sat. in June.
@@bjnelson9490 where at in nc ? I thought our delayed harvest started in first Saturday in June
@@calebowens3006 The keep part of delayed harvest streams does begin 1st Sat in June. I'm fishing the Streams now and releasing. I fished STN MTN, Mitchell River, Ararat River and Little River this week. Still have to release them now.
@@bjnelson9490 so I can fish in my local rivers now I just can’t keep them
Nice rainbow man always fun to watch
Thanks!
Nice job man there's a biggin in the hole under the trees hanging over the water in last spot u fish and I caught a giant in the ole cliff hole on Friday weighed 10lbs
Heck yeah congrats man!
WHOA That one barely fit in your net!!! 😯😯😯👏👏👏
Heck yeah! She jumped out off camera!!
@@NRVOutdoors 🤣🤣🤣
Nice video! Mind sharing your rig? Going to try open water trout this year, been missing out the whole time thinking theres no trout spot near me... 😢
Very Cool 👍🎣
Appreciate how you don’t touch fish with hands
Nice video. It would be cool if you would be able to test more Nikko products to see how well they work for trout.
Tons of NIKKO vids on the way!
Beautiful fish
Thanks
what a tank nice catch!!
Thanks!
Great idea and action! I only get to trout fish a couple times a year. I can see I need to beef up my lure larder. Right now I only have Trout Magnets, a few Creek Bugs, and some small Mepps spinners. Need some fake eggs, worms, flies, etc. Do you ever fish floating flies with some kind of plastic bubble float for casting weight? I've had sessions where the fish were taking off the surface and wouldn't touch anything down deep (at least not what I had to offer...).
never thought of this idea but it works
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
Great catch
Thanks!
Great video
Awesomely job as always
Thanks!
Casting an equivalent rig with a fly rod is like some kind of trendy aerobic routine. All that plastic fly line is a problem when you have to fight current or find yourself mending your line all day. Fly rods are all too long, so spin gear offers small-stream opportunity, spin reel or fly reel. I have a 5.5-foot Eagle Claw Classic Spin and it is a perfect everything rod.
This is going to be good
Thanks for watching!
My guy, thank you for another awesome video! Definitely going to have to try this! You think it could work at stocked ponds?
Definitely! A water bobber is a great choice for float & flies in ponds
Good video I need to add small sinker too my line thanks
Thanks for watching!
That "big" bow is Smaller then Average size in the great lakes still a beautiful fish none of the less
very cool
Thanks!
When will the trout creek bug kit be back in stock?
My favorite is a olive wooly bugger or a pistol pete
Heck yeah! Can't go wrong!!
what size flies work best for trout? i still havent been able to catch one on conventional methods.
I fished Roanoke river in Salem today caught 1 rainbow and 2 brookies!
Heck yeah man! Great catch
Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys.
Great video as usual!
Dry fly or sinking?
I'm guessing sinking because of the bead head?
Both were sinking
Witch fluorocarbon brand do you like to use the most ?
Berkley vanish is my go to
👍and thank you
Thanks for watching!
There ain't no fish boom fish on lol nice fish
Awesome video.... Do you jig action or just let it float.... And the fly do you want as high on water surface as possible (do you place the spkit shot 2 ft away from fly or more?)
Thanks
I let it drift with a couple pops here & there. I typically place the weights a few inches above the fly. I also try to get the flu down just a few inches above the bottom
@@NRVOutdoors thank you
Why did you chuck the Chubb like that and touch jt .. but you. Barely tocuh tne trout ??
Guys
Two observations -
1) That drag seemed a bit jerky/rough.
2) What pound test was that? I'm guessing you were up to 6-8 to be able to horse that bow around?
Yeap 8lb fluorocarbon
@@NRVOutdoors I kinda figured that with the complete lack of fear, horsing that beauty! That's what knowing the limits of your gear looks like 😁
Need some new flies cause I never seem to catch any thing lol
I don't think you said "Heck yeah" enough.
😆
Have you ever fished trout with live worms?
Yeap! Cant go wrong with some lively worms! Thanks for watching
i noticed that sometimes you use a split shot and sometimes you dont. when should i use a split shot.
While fishing fast current or when you need extra casting weight. Thanks for watching!
Was that your pb on a fly? I have done best in a black wholly bugger
Not quite shy by a few pounds. Thanks for watching!
Where is the dam located there? I’ve never found it
Cross the creek at the old holding runs and follow the trail up
@@NRVOutdoors thanks man....and you’re talking about turning left right before you cross the first bridge? Sorry to ask so many questions just been wanting to try that spot lol
Yeap
What creek is this?
Are you coming to the tournament at the end of the month in Cherokee?
Hopefully! Thanks for watching!
@@NRVOutdoors I’d love to meet you there brother
Good rainbow btw hellauva fish
That sure was an ol’ biggun! Wow! Barely fit in the net
I have 32 years fly fishing experience and I noticed, the uglier your nymph fly is the better it works... LOL I would tie up a bunch of nymphs patterns, put them in the gravel and then grind them into the dirt and rocks with my boot, then carefully pick them up and put them in my fly box... There are very few "cute" bugs in nature, ugly rules!!! LOL
Heck yeah that's very true! Great tip
no offense bruh, but why you using right handed reel when u yourself throwing using right hand (supposedly ur not lefty). why not using left handed reel or change the handle to left? like mostly asian country. right handed reel was suppose for peope that throw the cast using left hand bcos fishing is simple isnt it?
Am left handed handed, but same as him throw the line with my right hand but jig and pull with my left hand, and can reel with my right hand only.. on left sided reels I used to turn them upside down to reel in
Awesome I love trout fishing I actually did some trout fishing recently anyways I appreciate all the content you upload maybe you will checkout mine😉
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
Man at this point just fly fish
Definitely could! Thanks for watching
Great stuff but can’t be stud then call fish a girl lol
Sacrilege dude. Sad part is some folk will think that is fly fishing.
Thanks for watching!
Well he is using a fly and he is fishing so????
Awesome video
Thanks for watching!
