I read the US one, I didn’t know the uk one existed, but why do they have to be different? I feel like if there’s a slightly different version of the story it would just ruin it.
So the original is better than the one that was adapted for a different population because for some reason the publishers thought they wouldn’t read a book set in a different country? Big surprise. Quite frankly I don’t see why they had to make a different version, and I definitely don’t see why they had to cut down the amount of detail in it. I’m Indian, but you don’t see me reading an “Indian version” of the book. I read and liked the UK (the original) version just fine.

The UK covers aren’t cute so I think I’ll stick with my U.S. ones lol also I already read them so I won’t be breaking my neck to go and read the same book just set in a different country, I’m good 🤣
books usually don’t get an edit that’s as drastic as this though. it’s usually just changing certain words to make it clearer for audiences in different countries - this was something completely different

The uk edition was the original, as holly Jackson is from London.
oh, i didn’t know that that’s cool
I really don’t understand why the us version was made
Gladly I read the UK version 👏🏽 it's so strange that the change the setting 🙈

i’ve never heard of it happening to this degree before. sometimes they’ll change certain words for different markets but rarely whole settings etc.
I did not know the UK version had more detail! Is that the case for “Good Girl, Bad Blood” and “As Good as Dead” too?
