You're not being petty, I promise. I'm disabled, and some annoyances you're talking about create accessibility challenges for me. I have a hand tremor, and small pans of product that need a larger brush are iffy for me. Certain eyeliner textures create an application problem for me, too. As for your favourite design features, easy-to-open lids and magnetic closures are a huge accessibility plus for me and many others. I was so glad to hear you mention disabled users! So many people don't realize how many disabled people use cosmetics, and it's frustrating. These are not little things. Rather, you're highlighting extremely helpful design features. If a makeup brand can sell a lipstick at $25 or more, they can have their packaging department consult disabled makeup users and make these kind of adjustments to their product. There are more disabled people out there than ableds think, and what benefits us will benefit many ableds, too. Thanks so much for this video!
I am disabled, also totally blind and I agree with you about your comments here. Certain design features definitely add to or detract from accessibility. Also love a magnetic feature because then I am not accidentally dropping or losing something. Plus I also feel like heavy order or magnetic packaging. It feels especially luxurious. I also really like lots of cool texture on packaging because then I can appreciate it since I can't see it, visually.
Yesssss I really wish they’d make changes!! I take care of elderly and most of them have issues with their hands. OA causes their hands to be deformed, stiff and they’re also weak so it’s very hard for them to do simple things that we take for granted. But especially my pts with tremors! It took months for my patient with tremors to be able to use a continuous glucose monitor due to tremors. I wish they’d consider these things when creating products. Like not everyone has people to assist them! Oh and neuropathy in the hands also
I have Moderate severe CP and I’ve finally learned what works and what doesn’t but it’s sad so many options just don’t work. I completely agree with this thread.
This entire video SPEAKS TO ME. Let me add one to the list of “hates”: Bottles with droppers. Especially ILIA’s Super Serum Skin Tint. There is just SO much wasted product all over that glass dropper and leaking out under the cap! What is even the point of squeezing drops out when I have to wipe product off of the entire dropper and lid???
This, like, just do a pump. Sometimes things are the way they are because that’s how it works best, not every product has to reinvent the application process.
I don't like the click up lip packaging. I do not like not being able to put it back if i clicked too much, if that makes sense. Plus the tarte one i have is too gushy to be a stick or something lol. It just smooshes down and i get too much product gooping on my lips, yet the plastic is scratching at the same time. Idk just don't like it.
I hate palettes with both powder and creamy textured products! Yes, in theory its convienent, but 100% of the time in my experience there is always some rogue powder bits embedded in the cream part and it completely drives me nuts! However, I can fully admit its most likely a personal quirk I have.
I remember in youtube makeup tutorial days, people loved the CT Bronzer/Blushes formula, but ALWAYS complained about the applicator. I cannot fathom why that was the takeaway for companies.
The packaging I really like is clear packaging, when you can see the product through the container. I like to see the used product through the bottle or compact, it makes me feel like I am using my products and money is not going to waste haha.
My packaging pet peeves (some overlap with Kelly): -Squeeze tubes for liquid blush or bronzer (Glossier cloud paint). Easy to waste product by dispensing too much. -Too small pans (Elf putty blush) -Droppers for foundation (Beauty blender skin tint). Too messy. -Huge mascara wands. I find them hard to use/be precise with, personally.
Omg, huge mascara wands. Just this morning I got the giganto YSL brush too close to the base of my lashes, hit my eye, blinked, and deposited a 1 1/2 inch line of mascara across my fresh undereyes
Mine is the click lip products. I like the e.l.f. Clout Pout but it drives me crazy that I can't just roll it back down if I click up too much. My hands shake a little and if it's sticking up I'm likely to scrape it with the cap while trying to put it back on.
Also agree about squeeze tubes for the same reason, it's inevitable you'll waste some. The opening on the Cloud Paint tubes is large and it's hard to get a tiny amount, like if I didn't get enough on the first try and just need a smidge more.
Agreed on the huge mascara wands! Real humans don’t have anime eyes, why make an anime-eye-sized wand for something that really requires precision? Lancôme used to have these giant Christmas tree shaped wands which were a giant PITA.
Packaging is so important! I have ranted a few times with ‘high end’ product packaging! Here’s an example: Moroccan Oil’s shampoo. The container is made of very hard plastic and you can’t squeeze out the product! It’s rectangle shaped and so irritating.
I have been decluttering and no longer buying makeup where the packaging isn't my favorite but only for certain products (Blush, bronzer, highlighter, lip). Part of the enjoyment of having makeup on my face is the enjoyment of the application process, which includes the packaging. 🦋👩🦰
One of my makeup pet peeves is smutty names for makeup products. Especially like Wet n Wild & Too Faced that have more childish packaging sometimes. Huge perv vibes.
Agreed. It rarely comes off sensual, just feels cringe. And when the packaging is more childish and cute, then the smutty names just feel inappropriate.
Agreed, I've stayed away from Nars for that same reason. I can't believe e.l.f made an "o face" lipstick line. Just imagining young teens and tweens buying that or kids asking their parents what that means after seeing it in the grocery store, eugh.
my biggest pet peeve about makeup is brands putting sexual names on their products like nars naming their most famous blush orgasm, deep throat and stuff like that.
Yess I hate that! My teenager doesn’t like makeup but I think about other children that do like the make up and that’s just gross. Also think about the kids searching the internet for that product and what things would pop up smh
Exactly, I won't buy anything with a sponge applicator because yes it is gross and because the applicator gets wet with product then dry when not used it's a bacteria hazard and it'll mold which is exactly what happened to my Maybelline aga rewind concealer when I first bought it years ago. Never again.. I stick to doe fot applicators

Never again.. I stick to doe fot applicators
Not only are a lot of these things inconvenient for able-bodied people, they also make makeup and skincare harder for the disabled who already don't have enough options in the beauty space as is
This is just reinforcement of how personal makeup is 😂 I like doe foots lol. I also think it shows how sometimes brands don't pay attention enough to practicality and focus too much on aesthetics.
So with you on the poofs, I would rather have a pump or doe foot with any liquid product. The sponge poof just gets so messy as it gets filled with product and then the product on the sponge is more likely to dry up, making it harder to actually use the sponge or get product out of the packaging. My personal pet peeve with packaging is squeezy tube lip products. It’s so hard to get the right amount of product out and they always, without fail, get clogged. Also hate hate hate acrylic plastic packaging. Not only is it ugly to look at, it also breaks so easily. I feel like every single person I’ve seen that owns the Clionadh Dragon Fruit palette has had the lid joints break on them. Has happened with every ColourPop quad I’ve owned too.
the elf putty cream blushes and bronzers are the worst offenders for too small pans that don't fit a brush. i have to use my finger to apply then a brush
I'm not keen that it's in a pump, that's why I haven't bought it all this time but I tried it instore but of the hype and I think I will buy it eventually but I love doe foot applicators for concealer and wish this came in a doe foot
I depot all my cream products that aren’t in air tight containers into a single small palette for daily use. It eliminates the headache of sifting thru products and difficult to open products
It's crazy how much bad packaging affects my use of a product. With the doe foot applicators, I have the opposite preference. I HATE when it picks up too much product, especially with lip products. I'd rather double dip any day than deal with the mess that results from using half the product that came out, and putting the applicator back in only for the rest to gloop up around the top. Especially with lip gloss- I just want a light sheer coat. So many glosses pick up way too much product for my preference, and I have full lips as well. Such a pet peeve.
I completely agree about packaging. Merits eyeshadow pots, infuriate me. I work with people with disabilities, and there is no chance that anyone with arthritis or any sort of issues with their hands, can open them! I complain constantly on social media about the packaging so someone will realize that it's not effective. I also love a magnetic product! Byredo perfume makes my heart sing because of their packaging. ❤
I’d love if more packing has easy to open lids! I have really really bad fine motor skills and weakness in my hands so opening things is always a P-I-T-A! 😅
I never use my hourglass palettes because the pan sizes are so small. The finishing powers for example, would take 8 years to apply because i need to use an eyeshadow brush to fit in the pan hahaha. Cheek and face products need a wider pan imo to fit the brushes. I don't like the elf putty bronzer and blush because of the components. Yes i have their brush and could just use it, but i shouldn't have to use brand specific brushes to use their products imo.
If drugstore compacts switched from cheap plastic to cardboard I would probably be more willing to purchase their powders & blushes. I got so tired of the plastic hinges on compacts that broke & had to be rubber banded together, caps that came off eye & lip pencils as well as lipsticks. Aargh, it made such a mess in my purse & makeup bag. I don't expect luxury, but at least make it sturdy.
Thank you! I have a concealer from Revlon that is a sponge tip applicator. I like the concealer but feel like the applicator wastes product & makes a mess.
I agree about the packaging! The amount of times I've had to crawl around under my vanity for a mascara or concealer is hilarious but I've come to accept that since it's me whose knocking them off lol. It's when I have to struggle to even use the product that I get fed up and the product gets tossed into a drawer to gather dust. When you held up that colorpop compact I cringed lmao. I have one of the most unique and beautiful highlighters I own in that compact but I never use it because fighting to get the darn thing open is a nightmare! It has that weird angled bottom edge so there's nowhere to get a solid grip! On another note, thanks for reminding me about Ellis Brooklyn, I've been wanting to try something from them for a while. I just ordered a mini in Sun Fruit and travel size of Miami Nectar, so excited! I'm a fruity lover so those really appealed to me!
I've been at war with doefoot everything since the 90's, I never liked the feel of felt soaked in glop hitting any body part of mine especially the face. 🙅
Congratulations on the Ellis Brooklyn sponsorship!! I've gotten into fragrance because I was obsessed with a sample of Apres from them! I found Lauren Mae's channel from YouTubing Apres to find similar scents and now I am a fragrance girlie! 😂 I want to smell everything! Love Miami Nectar 🖤
I agree with you on most of these tbh. I'll take the doe foot one further actually. I'm not a fan of them at all in concealers and eye primers! I get them for lip products, that's fine. But ever since I got the NYX Serum Concealer, I've decided that a pump for concealer is freaking genius! I can pump out the tiniest amount and I know that I'm going to be able to use up the products without having the mess of removing the stopper and scraping out what's left. And eye primer needs to be in a squeezy tube, though I'd love to see that get put into a pump too. I blend it out with my fingers anyway and this way, I'm going to have a much easier time getting all of the product. Oh yeah, and dropper foundations or the literal pour it out foundation bottles. WE WANT PUMPS! LOL
I don't consider this rant petty, I think all of this is fair criticism that brands should pay attention to, bc you are not alone on a lot of them. I'm a graphic designer and there are some design things that annoy me for petty reasons, like several fonts that I hate, not bc they are bad, I just don't like them...and it is petty. But some design choices bother me bc I think they impact the actual product negatively. For example I hate the packaging for The Ordinary bc it is so difficult to tell the difference between their products. I wear glasses and my eyesight is really bad, so when I wash my face it is a real pain trying to figure out which of their products I need to use. I don't buy their products for that reason and it might be a little petty to write off an entire brand for that reason but honestly I don't like that the company is so unconcerned with this. I know why they made this design choice, it appears to the consumer as though they aren't spending money on expensive packaging so they are saving them money. But the cheapest form of production for labels is digital print which is CMYK, so they could easily use color coding to differentiate their products without any additional cost. Good Molecules is the same price point and their packaging is so much better so I switched to their products instead. I don't think any complaint that is driven by user experience is petty.
Personally, if there’s a type of packaging I really hate it’s the big doe foot applicator of most lip oils nowadays. I have a couple ones in my mind like the elf glow reviver, the super popular dior one or also the nyx fat lip oil… the thing that I dislike is how much product they take but what I hate the most is where the product stays on the doe foot: basically it’s either all on the point of it (so usually you end up applying way too much) or it’s on the thinner part (and you don’t get to use it because when you put it back it makes a mess with the stopper and stays in the cap). I don’t know if it’s just me but one thing I know for sure is that there are other doe foot applicators and I don’t have a problem with them😂 By the way great video as always, I really enjoy this series!❤
The huda faux filter concealer is my favorite, but the packaging gets goop all over it too. Idk why or how. No matter what i do when i close it, product oozes out.
I think I know what's causing the different doe foot applicators to have different amounts of product!! So the opening within the tube is circular, and so when the doe foot is flat (like tower 28), the product isn't being scraped off the flat portions. When the doe foot is circular and the opening is also circular, the product is being scraped off most of the doe foot, except for the tip of the applicator. So I think it's less about the hair size, and more about the opening shape and doe foot shape!
Mesh powder packaging is holding my powder hostage. I don't have time for that I gotta go to woooork. I just end up shaking it onto the lid, and too much falls out. It's so frustrating. Looking at you Huda loose setting powder 😡
The scoopable doe foot that works for me is the peripera glasting gloss. It is a larger doe foot with an almost cup like cavity. The unfortunate thing is it is so big I get too much gloss so it is likely better if you like to apply to a middle space between applicator and face like back of your hand or metal palette then use fingers or brush.
Thank you for this video, Kelly! I too am super conscious of packaging design and the user experience, so I can relate to all of this. (I'm constantly reimagining better packaging choices in my head as I use products, lol) Oh the doe foot issues......yes, yes. I recently had quite the back and forth with the folks at Saie about their new Slip Tint concealer I purchased (LOVE the formula, btw). I discovered that the inner plastic piece that is supposed to prevent too much product from being distributed on the doe foot wasn't doing that - when I would pull out the wand, it was like it was coming straight out of an open tube - waaaay too much product on it. I sent photos with arrows showing where I meant - this wasn't the plastic ring stopper at the top of the tube, but the piece further down inside it. I didn't know if that was how it was designed or if there was something wrong with the one I purchased. They kept saying it was normal. And I kept telling them that there was zero resistance on the doe foot as it came out of the tube - I even tested it out on a handful of other brand concealer tubes, as well as lipglosses, to be sure my Saie concealer tube was behaving differently (it was). I even researched how these types of tubes are constructed and what all the pieces are intended to do. (I know, I know.....but I HAD to be sure I wasn't missing something 😂) There definitely is supposed to be a slight resistance on that mid-way piece as you pull the doe foot wand OUT of the tube, so that the correct amount of product ends up on it. And mine does not do that. All this to say that Saie insisted that there was nothing wrong with how my tube was working. Sigh. So now I have to decide - should I repurchase this, especially because it's one of the best concealers I've ever used? Or not, because the way the tube functions is just too much of a hassle with a ton of product coming out each time? OR........is my tube simply defective and all the others work as intended? (even though Saie wouldn't agree). Kelly, do you have this concealer? How does your wand and tube function? Anyone else who would be willing to test theirs out and let me know? Thank you! Sorry this is so TL;DR, but I love Saie products and think they are a great company....but man, this was a frustrating one. ❤
Doe foot applicators for lip gloss: I was trying to finish a lip glass that I'd had for awhile and got to about a quarter of the tube left and out of nowhere thought: the applicator has been dipped out, touched my lips and then put back in the tube several times a day for over a year. And now that you only have a small amount left it's basically the spitty backwash. I was so disgusted I threw it away right then 🤢
Yes, I am starting to dislike doe foot applicators more and more. There’s a content creator that is doing such a great job and using up alll of her lip products, but as she goes through the product, you can see how murky and icky the glosses get😭😭. It’s totally not her fault, but man that really grosses me out
The Urban Decay single shadows have packaging almost exactly like the acrylic Tower28 blushes, but WITHOUT the snap close. It's just a cover essentially. I love it!
I think u got a bad ND concealer. Both of mine are fine. 🤔 I skip divided pan products 100%. Also the sponge ball applicator. Hard pass! I like a doe foot, so decluttered my NYX bare wirh me with me concealer because it was a pump. Yeah, hate having to get oht tweezers to get into a compact. The new NYX butter bronzer/blush are like that. They may be passed on to a friend soon. You are right to have a petty rant about ur preferences. There are too many products/brands to put up with crappy and annoying packaging. 😂😂❤❤
any applicator where i need to pit product onto a different surface, dip my brush in, wipe the brush off on a second surface, and THEN go on my face is an automatic NOPE from me. It's fine when i'm doing complex looks at a desk, but doing quick touch ups is the name of the game for me
6:00 OMG THANK YOU. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. The worst offender of all of the concealers I have ever used is the Tarte Extra Creamy Shape Tape. It's CONSTANTLY making a huge mess every time I use it. Whenever I want to put it in my travel makeup bag, I need to wrap it in paper towels or put it in a bag & hope it doesn't somehow manage to smear all over everything. It's wild.
Omg I was just saying the same thing about the ND concealer. It is soooo messy!!! I like it, but it’s not my HG. Will not be repurchasing due to half of the product leaking out onto the packaging.
I have that exact hourglass palette and agree with the bronzer! I take my brush and with the other hand wrap around the brush and scoop down to make the bristles as condensed as possible. Then I swivel the brush on the bronzer pan like a screwdriver to pick up product 😅
Totally agree- I hate doe foots with little dips! I think part of it is that your face is mostly flat so you won't be able to get the product out of the dent anyway
I also hate a puff applicator...I ONCE used the maybelline instant age rewind concealer and hated the applicator and have never bought any makeup product with a puff tip since. Also I hate dropper bottles for foundation. If it comes in a dropper bottle, you'll never catch me buying no matter how great I hear the product inside is!
If I don't like the packaging of face powder, I depot it my into a small ball jar (I think it is a 4 oz one) or into an empty powder packaging that I prefer. 🦋👩🦰
I feel like on the brand’s website is where you’ll find mini bronzers. Maybe Sephora and Ulta. NARS, benefit, tarte, physician formula, the balm, too faced, Colourpop in the white twist off packaging has some smaller pans in general, and maybe the newer NYX bronzers are a smaller pan.
@tabithak5943 Oh, gosh I so appreciate this list! I only purchase cruelty-free, which knocks a couple of those off, and then I'm pale and pinky, so I'm looking for a very, very sheer or very light bronzer, so I'm difficult haha! I was hoping Too Faced had a mini of their milk chocolate one but doesn't look like it. Although, kind of like Kelly said, being petty helps reign in my makeup purchases. 😅
I've bought tower28's lipgloss and their concealer and they both leaked absolutely everywhere, even with proper storage! I've never had this issue from another makeup brand. I had to stop using both even with lots of product left because they were leaking on anything that touched them! 😞
Hi Kelly, great video as always. I have seen you wear these beautiful hoop earrings twice. Bot times, I checked the description box, but there was no link to Amazon. Can you please share the Amazon link? I really want to buy them. I like all the earrings you wear. Thank you so much.
I cannot stand sponge tip applicators! Also, I really dislike having to stick my finger into a jar - I purchased several stainless steel thingies for that purpose. But that’s just me. 🤷♀️
I just ordered a Patrick Ta blush. I’m so happy it has a convenient opening. I also agree with you on packages that have a flat edge and don’t roll. I will look for those in lip gloss, mascara and other products that usually will roll away! It makes a HUGE difference!
I hate packaging too, especially on high end make up you pay a premium for. I hate the loreal serum tint bottle, but love the product so I bought a pump. Which is fine for the price point. Fighting something open takes all the joy of using it away!
I pull the sponge tip off the tubes (like CT Glowwand) because I don't want crusty residue makeup from the past mixed into the cream I want to use today. Or I dap it off in a towel and finish with some alcohol. But its not my favorite either.
I got rid of most of my Colourpop highlighters and blushes in that flat packaging. Number 1 they don’t fit in any of storage and number 2 they were hard to open which discouraged me from opening it. :/
lol I remember the days when I had to search on youtube on how to depot that last bit of primer out. I stopped after it recommended using a mini hand saw to cut it open.
The REM beauty lip oil is amazing, but it literally has a pocket with a little ball in it and no product comes off on the wand. I have to dip like 100 times it’s so annoying.
I hate the spongey ball application packaging. It's so effing gross. It builds up on the poofy thing and like coagulates on there. It feels sticky. It never comes out the same after the first use. I am only using it on my face so it's not the unsanitary gross, but like old dry product mixed with fresh product gross. I
Any time a loose powder doesn’t have a twistable sifter (a la Bare Minerals), I have beef with the powder. And actually, BM sifters suck because you can’t get it off. So I almost always depot my loose powders into another container (like an empty elf loose powder).
I agree with you especially about that darn poof. Also I tried searching Amazon for your earrings. I couldn’t find them. Can you drop a link pretty please?
Also, the EM cosmetics blushes are the best formula I’ve ever seen for blushes, my literal favorite. But that packaging is horrendous. It’s so messy and the dropper doesn’t work. The packaging is literally terrible. It’s the same stopper issue where it literally leaks all over everything. And I have to use every single day or else my make up doesn’t look good. I absolutely adore the formula, I wish they would change the packaging.
I totally agree, powder can have so many things wrong (for me) with the packaging! Hate that! The Too Faced cloud blush is great, but very hard to open every single time.
The honest beauty cream blush is so easy to open but unfortunately it's too easy and I bent the hinge immediately, so it couldn't shut. I was able to sort of hold the hinge and move the lid so the metal of the hinge bent back. It's a good product. "coral" but it's straight up orange exactly what I want
I agree 100%...packaging is a big deal for me..that Natasha Denona concealor is the worst..it seeps out of the cap and gets all over my makeup bag and the products in it..very annoying...
The plastic outside case of my Fenty Dimond BomB fell off and it is a struggle to open it now. Without the outside plastic there is no clear or accessible opening
I also despise the sponge tip. To me it is unsanitary and feels icky. Love your videos! Always well thought out and you include who it COULD be good for.
Omg yes! I almost didn't repurchase shape tape because sooo much product leaked through every time I closed the cap. If it was cheap, no biggie but it's not and Tarte really needs to work on that. I did end up getting it again because the product itself is fantastic but yeah, the packaging needs more testing.
I’m with you on the Hourglass pan size. I’ve had to use brushes that are too small (especially for the bronzer) and it ends up making it harder to apply on my face. The formula itself is lovely, though!
I really hate squeeze tubes on glosses and cheek products. I can pardon a foundation, but for some reason on lip or cheek products it requires more effort to get it out and then it ends up being messy on packaging and I really dislike it. Plus I don't have much strength in my hand so the added strength needed to press a thicker product is a no for me. Give me a doefoot anytime Surprisingly one helpful thing for me has been eyeliner stamps. I have terrible eyesight and usually need my contacts to do my makeup, but if for some reson I can't wear them I do m makeup with my nose nearly to the mirror. So even though I can easily do my liner, without contacts I can't manouver the liner without it crashing against the mirror. The stamp is good for doing a wing when I can barely see my face
You're not being petty, I promise. I'm disabled, and some annoyances you're talking about create accessibility challenges for me. @user-bg8oe8sn2t I love a nice texture on packaging, too! I'm autistic, so it's fun to stim with a lipstick tube or whatever.

I have the same exact prob with my bottle I thought I just got a defected one but now I know it's not just me
I’m a huge fan of airless pump bottles (my skincare comes in them). No waste, no mess, no spills.
AGREE on messy caps!! I don’t want to waste product and being dirty really detracts from my experience.
Kelly don’t feel bad about complaining!!! This is way better for us all than telling us new stuff to buy 😂
I don't like the click up lip packaging. I do not like not being able to put it back if i clicked too much, if that makes sense. Plus the tarte one i have is too gushy to be a stick or something lol. My packaging pet peeves (some overlap with Kelly):
-Squeeze tubes for liquid blush or bronzer (Glossier cloud paint). Easy to waste product by dispensing too much.
-Too small pans (Elf putty blush)
-Droppers for foundation (Beauty blender skin tint).
I hate the cloud paint tube too. I opened the tube after taking a flight and the blush burst out from the pressure when I opened it
Mine is the click lip products. I like the e.l.f. Clout Pout but it drives me crazy that I can't just roll it back down if I click up too much. My hands shake a little and if it's sticking up I'm likely to scrape it with the cap while trying to put it back on.

Agreed on the huge mascara wands! Real humans don’t have anime eyes, why make an anime-eye-sized wand for something that really requires precision? Lancôme used to have these giant Christmas tree shaped wands which were a giant PITA.
Epic rant Kelly, the beauty industry should listen to you!
Packaging is so important! I have ranted a few times with ‘high end’ product packaging! Here’s an example: Moroccan Oil’s shampoo. The container is made of very hard plastic and you can’t squeeze out the product! It’s rectangle shaped and so irritating.
That’s the worst! I’ve had bottles do that and it’s so weird.
I agree!
@@jenny4107i work in middle school. Kids know what it means. 😊
@@Jessica-rf7lv It didn’t click for me what that means until the person above you mentioned it in that way. I’m a sophomore in HS 😅😂
my biggest pet peeve about makeup is brands putting sexual names on their products like nars naming their most famous blush orgasm, deep throat and stuff like that.
Yess I hate that! My teenager doesn’t like makeup but I think about other children that do like the make up and that’s just gross. Also think about the kids searching the internet for that product and what things would pop up smh
spotted the mormon
@@IceyCat134 lol i'm not a mormon, i'm not even religious, i just think it's inappropriate.
It has nothing to do with being a Mormon, I think using sexual names is just... Tacky 😅
Or those ELF O Face lipsticks! It's just tacky.
NOTHING needs a sponge tip ball applicator i hate them and they’re gross
Exactly, I won't buy anything with a sponge applicator because yes it is gross and because the applicator gets wet with product then dry when not used it's a bacteria hazard and it'll mold which is exactly what happened to my Maybelline aga rewind concealer when I first bought it years ago. Never again.. I stick to doe fot applicators

Give me magnetic packaging with refills. That is the dream.
Packaging is NOT petty. One of my favorite lipsticks has a loose cap, not safe loose in the purse any more. Beginning to think about an upgrade.
the elf putty cream blushes and bronzers are the worst offenders for too small pans that don't fit a brush. i have to use my finger to apply then a brush
The NYX concealer in a pump...best invention ever, for my sensitive eyes!
Yesss ❤ And I love that you can get every last drop out!
yes, I've been using that one for awhile now! I love that it pushes up every last bit of the product and you can see easily how much you have left!
Agreed!!
Agreed! Why dont everyone do this kind of packaging 😊
@kelly YOU’RE NOT ALONE REGARDING THE SIFTER FOR POWDER. I genuinely hate them.
My favorite makeup hater
I always file down a little the plastic part of component that is hard to open. I have a cheep, metal nail file for that. It helps a lot 😊
The puff applicator started with the Maybelline concealer!
ngl i find sponge-tip applicators fun for cheek products. but WHY would you use that on the lips 😭
Yes, Kelly companies need to be more aware of practical packaging and make it more accessible.
I can’t open Pat Mcgrath’s blush! Yes these makeup brands need to realize that women have nails!
I use my eyebrow plucker to open my Tower blush.
I don’t know if it’s just me but one thing I know for sure is that there are other doe foot applicators and I don’t have a problem with them😂
By the way great video as always, I really enjoy this series!❤
The huda faux filter concealer is my favorite, but the packaging gets goop all over it too. Idk why or how. No matter what i do when i close it, product oozes out.
I loved your energy in this video hahaha the feistiness came out to play 🫶🏼
I think I know what's causing the different doe foot applicators to have different amounts of product!! So the opening within the tube is circular, and so when the doe foot is flat (like tower 28), the product isn't being scraped off the flat portions. When the doe foot is circular and the opening is also circular, the product is being scraped off most of the doe foot, except for the tip of the applicator. So I think it's less about the hair size, and more about the opening shape and doe foot shape!
Ooooooh that makes so much sense!
I’ve never had a problem opening the Tower 21 compacts, but mine have all cracked at the hinges 😢
Yes on the Natasha Denona concealer! Why is it so dirty!?
Mesh powder packaging is holding my powder hostage. I don't have time for that I gotta go to woooork. I just end up shaking it onto the lid, and too much falls out. It's so frustrating. Looking at you Huda loose setting powder 😡
The scoopable doe foot that works for me is the peripera glasting gloss. It is a larger doe foot with an almost cup like cavity. The unfortunate thing is it is so big I get too much gloss so it is likely better if you like to apply to a middle space between applicator and face like back of your hand or metal palette then use fingers or brush.
Seconding this!! I like the applicator, but may not be for everyone. Personally I like it because it's convenient for my large lips.
It’s totally not her fault, but man that really grosses me out
My pet peeve: those miracle balm commercials, I get them all the time ~ just stop!!!
It's fine when i'm doing complex looks at a desk, but doing quick touch ups is the name of the game for me
this is why i love the mesh sifter cause i use brushes and light powder to reduce shine (not baking or setting)
Watching you from my hometown Cancun 🌴🌴 while in vacation ⛱️⛱️ 😀😀. Eres genial Kelly !!!!
hourglass needs to make 4 pan palettes... that would be perfect....
They do
I also hate a puff applicator...I ONCE used the maybelline instant age rewind concealer and hated the applicator and have never bought any makeup product with a puff tip since. Also I hate dropper bottles for foundation. If it comes in a dropper bottle, you'll never catch me buying no matter how great I hear the product inside is!
I agree - I have the same product, I just wish it was different because I like it
This is my fav video ever!!!! Love the snark!!!
If I don't like the packaging of face powder, I depot it my into a small ball jar (I think it is a 4 oz one) or into an empty powder packaging that I prefer. 🦋👩🦰
Is this why I can't find a mini bronzer?? 😂 I want one so badly but very few brands make them and maybe it's because pan size is too small?
I’m convinced that the sponge applicator is favored by brands because it wastes so much product which makes you need to buy more quicker

I HATED the original packaging for the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. The shape of the bottle made it so difficult to get the last bit of product out.
lol I remember the days when I had to search on youtube on how to depot that last bit of primer out. I stopped after it recommended using a mini hand saw to cut it open.
The problem you have with the Natasha Denona concealer I have it with all my concealers. 😅
Same!! That’s why the nyx bare with me is my only concealer now, I wish more concealers would come with a pump.
The REM beauty lip oil is amazing, but it literally has a pocket with a little ball in it and no product comes off on the wand. I have to dip like 100 times it’s so annoying.
too faced is demonic for how difficult they made it to open their bronzers
My hourglass concealer does the same thing and gets all goopy around the edges no matter how many times I wipe it off.
I love your vids! Especially the makeup musing. Your the only beauty UA-camr I watch
Congrats on the sponsorship 🥰🥰!!
Any time a loose powder doesn’t have a twistable sifter (a la Bare Minerals), I have beef with the powder. And actually, BM sifters suck because you can’t get it off. So I almost always depot my loose powders into another container (like an empty elf loose powder).
For loose powder I have it closed and shake it a little so some comes off on the lid or out of the separated and then use it with a puff
I agree with you especially about that darn poof. Also I tried searching Amazon for your earrings. I couldn’t find them. Can you drop a link pretty please?
Yes! This is them: www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4YL43VQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Yessss sponsored by Ellis Brooklyn! You go!
I totally agree, powder can have so many things wrong (for me) with the packaging! Hate that!
The Too Faced cloud blush is great, but very hard to open every single time.
I hate bad packaging and sometimes even repackage it
I hate when things are messy or hard to open
The honest beauty cream blush is so easy to open but unfortunately it's too easy and I bent the hinge immediately, so it couldn't shut. I was able to sort of hold the hinge and move the lid so the metal of the hinge bent back. It's a good product. "coral" but it's straight up orange exactly what I want
I disagree with the Patrick Ta blush! I find it difficult to open and am afraid I’ll dig my nail in it or drop it 😂
Oh my goodness, yes!!! My Nudestix concealer goops out the side too!! It drives me crazy bc it gets everywhere even when I clean it off.
Please, please, please give the Amazon link for those earrings! I cannot find them and I must have them!
Yes! Here is the link: www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4YL43VQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
@@KellyGooch Thank you!! Just ordered them!😄
My hate is the hinges on compacts for powder and shadows. I had to chuck a Charlotte Tilbury powder because the hinge failed.
I need links to your jewelry! I love them
I really hate squeeze tubes on glosses and cheek products. I can pardon a foundation, but for some reason on lip or cheek products it requires more effort to get it out and then it ends up being messy on packaging and I really dislike it. Plus I don't have much strength in my hand so the added strength needed to press a thicker product is a no for me. Give me a doefoot anytime
Surprisingly one helpful thing for me has been eyeliner stamps.
