Hell, I've gotten cursed out recently because I got put in a Warzone team with a couple of people that played the game a lot, and I was a new player and wasn't particularly good. I didn't have fun that game, but if they'd had more of a focus on fun, or on showing me mechanics or whatever, I probably would have had a blast.
Like I said though, I can see why you might call it fan boyish.
