Never thought this version would have a detailed storyline with the cutscenes, voice acting, and all that. It would’ve been nice if it was subbed, but oh well.
This was the first game I played (Atari version), I could never get past stage 4. You are a master to be able to complete this, R-Type is very difficult. I had the PC Engine CD version but again couldn't complete stage 4. I like how they put a new boss at 23:05, does not look hard to kill though!
Yes. R-Type is difficult. It is necessary to perfectly memorize enemy placement and enemy attack pattern. The difficulty level increases from stage 4. 23: 05 It is an easy boss game.

The endings based on difficulty is sure different. Easy ending: Just another days work. Most R ships survived. Including R-9 Normal Ending: Tough battle. Only a few R ships made it out. R-9 made it out in one piece. Hard Ending: It seems like the R-9 ship and the pilots did not make it out in time. Perishing in the explosion... At the least the Bydo forces was destroyed...I only hope the people still have the blueprints to the R-9s. so such can be mass produced...and upgraded...
As im not able to understand japanese, does the cutscenes stand up for the series canon's? I.e i did read somewhere that pilots had to be disembodied to be able to fly a R series. (Probably too dark to include that in a cutscene for that era, understandable). Also about the origin of the bydo, keeps true to it? Thanks for the amazing video upload, of course!

This version is great. Personally the music arrangements in this game, just doesn't feel right. But the Snes or SFC version of Super R-type use techno style music and feels right. Anyway, as always great playthrough!!
Me too, especially Dobkeratops. Someone could subtitle this video, at least. All I caught was something about space exploration being mankind's oldest and greatest dream, the Force being an experimental new weapons, and... that's it. I wasn't able to tell whether the big green round ship was supposed to be the Bydo's fortress and humans made it crash, or if it was a human space station that the Bydo made crash.

Yeah irem mostly have bad ending it even hapens in R type tactic where the protagonist fleet actually assimilated and become bydo to explain bydo chapter part of the game which is the final 1/2. The ironic part is The protagonist fleet dont even know they have been assimilated and tried to go home to earth ust to be chased away by the human and retreat back to the space. it is very interesting ending
Wait, how is he destroying those enemies behind him in the first level? It looks like he's just hitting them with his ship, but they don't kill him. They are behind him so they aren't hitting the force module...

アイレムソフトウェアエ（以下略）になってから更に鬱度が増したような感じ。
少なくとも第1作目の頃は単純に「地球を脅かす悪のバイド帝国をやっつけろ！」なノリだったんだろうね。
野暮なことを言うと、TEAM R-TYPEって組織はR-TYPE finalの世界でしか存在しないんですよ(それ以外の作品だと結成されてない&finalは過去作と矛盾する設定や時代設定なのでパラレル設定)
これ、1番最後のがr-typeデルタに繋がっている感じがしますね

デモやポップな音楽でコレじゃない感がありますけど、我慢して動画を見てるとやっぱりゲームは変わってませんね。アリだと思います。
Huカード版は、前編と後編で分かれてました。
BGMは、オプションでオリジナルとアレンジが選べれば良かったですね。
それにしても我慢しながら見るほどキツかったんですか(´･ω･`)
PCエンジンはDUOから入ったのですが、その最初の1本でした。R-TYPEはHuカード版の完成度が高かったので、完全版として期待していたのですが、ミュージックアレンジはともかく処理落ちの酷さに難儀しました。敵弾を見逃すことがしばしばあり、結局クリアは叶いませんでした。展開が気になっていたので、クリア動画に感謝!!

Huカード版はチラつきが全くないみたいですね。
CD-ROM版は意図的だそうです（ゲームカタログより）

PCエンジンはハッピーエンドなのにな。バッドエンドの先に、finalのbパートでバイド化して人類に倒されることになっていくのが悲しいな。
R-TYPEディメンションズのノーミス動画撮ろうとして、ラスボスがあと２秒で死ぬってとこで失敗したんですが(´-ω-`)

AC版もPCE版も同じとこが安地なんですねぇ。
確かラスボスを倒すのに時間がかかると安地ではなくなるので注意ですｗ
XBOX360版のR-TYPEディメンションズを持ってますが内容が海外版の移植なんでちょっと違和感がありました。
PCエンジン版は敵の耐久力が若干低い？、6面追加ボス以外はAC版にかなり忠実な移植だと思います(･ω･)b

勿論3D-2D切り替え出来ますよ。

もしかしてパイロットは脳だけってやつ？ネットで誤情報が広まってるから言っておくけど、R-type1の機体R-9(後にR-9Aに形式番号を変更)はパイロットは普通に五体満足で乗る。おぞましい設定の機体はR-type2のR-9C(パイロットは四肢切断され実質脳のみ)、R-type3のR-9/0(パイロットは幼体固定されている)、R-type finalのR-9Wシリーズ(搭乗するだけでパイロットが自力で降りれなくなる程消耗するからコクピットブロックごと換装)やBシリーズ全般(機体そのものにバイド由来の素材を使っている。特にB-1シリーズは自機とは思えないような醜悪な見た目をしてる。中にはパイロットに直接バイド由来の素材と触れ合わせるものも。)
