The black and white underside was introduced in 1938 to aid friendly recognition of aircraft. It was dropped in June 1940 but made a brief come back in November 1940 until April 1941.
I love how Tamiya is stepping up their game and becoming an even more competitive company. Nice to see photo-etch included in that spitfire kit. The moldings also looked excellent.
Stickers looks like the anti-slip for the pilot to walk on etc that was like a glued down bumby surface so its realstic that its abit "raised" pretty cool.
I see from all of your models and now the book that you really like the Israeli tanks and tank stories! I live in Israel and the "tank culture" here is great. you should come here and go to the Yad La-Shirion Tank Museum to see all of the tanks (i bought my first kit at their merch store..) Love your channel! keep it up!
Hi Andy, I believe those stickers to be the grip tape that is on top of the wings to allow the pilot to walk up the wing to the cockpit without slipping. 👍
I'm looking forward to seeing you build and paint that Spitfire, but a little disappointing that Tamiya chose not to die-cut the canopy masks. Also can't wait for the M-60 build. Nice update... keep them coming.
Strange that tamiya, known for their excellent quality of mold, still can't get a full rivet job on a 48th scale kit in a 2018 tooling. Eduard's been doing it since 2013..
Hi Andy like your review on the spitfire mk 1 just thought you might like to know that there is a 1\48 scale decale sheet for Battle of Britain movie spitfires check it out Jennings Heilg decales at Hyperscale thanks for the review I'll have to put this on my list Have a nice day Bruce
12:35 fuck.. i already have the ideas and there it is.. well mine is waffentragger turret and t34 but with closed body and i know its cramped but i do the closed on because they carry ammo in the back and snipe from afar and also i do it backwards too because the tiger 2 gun was so heavy
Well thank you Tamiya for the Spitfire. Now bring out a Hurricane Mk.I/Mk.II which was the aircraft that the majority of the pilots who fought in the BOB actually flew. Go on, I dare ya! I double dare ya!! 😀🤣😀🤣😀
marcel dekerpel Maybe they're realising that to keep up with other companies they're gonna have to start adding PE rather than having it as an expensive optional extra. It's about time. I love Tamiya, my fav model company but they do need to pick up their game in that respect.
@@Austrian-Painter-88 yea, i had that experience. I found out that their leclerc had an optional photo etc sheet. However, it took such a long time to ship that i forgot about it.
Roham Pasha before I got my enigma I got the takom t-55 AM2B which came with extra pe. I was able to replace the two search light covers and the air intakes ECT. The rubber band tracks are okay but I would prefer individual tracks
Roham Pasha that or it would be really nice if a company made a simple upgrade pack that would come with PE, individual tracks, and maybe some resin crew figures
The plane with the black and white undersides was shot down during Operation Dynamo. The remains were recovered from a beach near Calais years later and it was fully restored to airworthy condition. it is demonstrated at airshows in Britain. if you do a google search for Guy Martins Spitfire, you should be able to find it there. It would be nice to see you build the new MkI Spit
I started modeling because of you, just finished a Challenger I MBT from trumpeter(1:72) and I think it looks beautiful
Thank you, Andy, for making us aware of new products...I'm eager to see you building the Spitfire!!!!

Thank you again Andy. Here waiting for your Next build.
Really happy that Tamiya keeps improving their figures for their kits. They have come so far in the last 5 years
Great reveiw of the Nissan 370 & Spitfire mk1. The book on destroyed and abandoned T34's looks great, thanks Andy, once again.
IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUILDING A SPITFIRE. HAVEN BUILT ONE SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID
Stickers looks like the anti-slip for the pilot to walk on etc that was like a glued down bumby surface so its realstic that its abit "raised" pretty cool.
Nice kit, I'm bouncing around on a couple different kits.
Looks like a great kit!
Another informative video. Great work keep it up. I am back in AZ for the winter and should be in to see you in the next couple of days.
I'm really excited for that new Spitfire, I built the old 1/48 Tamiya Spit a year or two ago
I see from all of your models and now the book that you really like the Israeli tanks and tank stories!

Nice review of the spitfire Andy, thanks for showing!

I suggest you do the black and white bottom if you wanted a Dunkirk type of paint.

Nice Spit and the book looks cool
Yes please!
Great looksie, beauty Andino.
Nice spit fire 1 48 scale!😨 wow
4:22 Rear wings, AKA: Horizontal Stabilizers :D Another great video Andy.
The dynamo paintwork would be really nice on the spitfire, i hope you pick that :)
Can’t wait to see the 370z video!
What happened to the takom panther in the factory scene??
My words exactly..
Dag, just when I complete the old Tamiya Mk.1 Spitfire.
Oh well, still a good kit thought from 1993.
Really great build, andy:)
Nice reviews Andy, Thanks for Sharing n God Bless All
There is a restoration show on that QV registered one. N3200.
Great video as usual, love it
Great video Andy. Is there a release date for Nissan kit? I would like to get it for a friend of mine.
A couple of nice looking kits 👍
Awesome products!
It's kinda off topic, but I recently built a king tiger, and I'm wondering what paint I should use to chip it
Nice review but nothing was said about ejector pin marks.
Thanks for sharing ... Like that Z
Nice video im so jealous. I didn't touched a kit since a month because im going to college. And I want that spitfire so badly:(
Just don't drink for a month. Or, if you're going to University in Halifax, don't drink for a weekend :)
Is this a joke?
It was, but I guess drinking in university in Halifax isn't the same as where you're from
1/48 Aircraft Series No.119
Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I
Item No: 61119
neat stuff will see more
Super jealous. It looks fantastic, wonder how it stacks against the Eduard IXc? Guess I'll have to build them both haha
So what is the real difference between the new Tamiya Spitfire Mk I kit versus the old one???
Is there a real big spitfire kit ? By looking your channel i restart building kits start with the panzer from takom.
wow, love the car!!!
Nooo im late andy could you build the Trumpeter canadian 6x6 husky avgp
What's the link for the book? Looks like a great reference!

Did Andy ever finish that factory diorama?
Nope
C'mon Andy, don't break the golden rule ! Finish the M60 then you can concentrate on the Spitfire 😉👍

Can you leave a link for the 370z?
New sub, looking for P51.
Cool
do the 1/35 tamiya kv 2
Where the store at
I love you, your energy, your videos...but please....PLEEEASE....do something about your audio levels...get a mic, etc. It's so easy to fix.

The stickers look like all the anti skid
Good

Can you ask Tamiya to make an STRV103B model or any S tank model. No one makes them :/
ThatAussieBloke Trumpeter makes a couple in 1/72 and 1/35.
I'm not one to criticize Tamiya, yet WHY have they stamped the roof with their lettering?!?!?!?! Thanks Andy! :)
i'm just wondering. is tamiya the only company you preview? how much are they paying you?thanks
No I preview lots of other companies and none of them pay me. Thanks for watching
A tamiya kit, with photo etch. What? And its a brand new kit

Never understood why nobody has made planes in a 1/35 ?
please build a P-51 please it would be super cool and I really want you to make one like if you agree
What state
We are in Glendale Arizona
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters oh I am in Texas Houston
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters is thier an online shopping page
Weeeeeeeee!
Y that 1 dislike tho
The Dodo assholes, you'd have to be to dislike Andy's videos
wanna see the real one
Tamiya kits are either amazing or over priced. The t-55 engima is one of those over priced kits that lack anything special like PE
I'm hoping Takom will make one. $50 + for rubber band tracks and no Foto etched parts is effing BS
Roham Pasha before I got my enigma I got the takom t-55 AM2B which came with extra pe. I was able to replace the two search light covers and the air intakes ECT. The rubber band tracks are okay but I would prefer individual tracks
