Had this kit delivered from Amazon today, I haven't looked at the detail of it yet, but this is a great review of it and I have a feeling I will enjoy the build very much! Thanks for taking the time to review the kit, much appreciated.
Thanks Peter - on my buy list - my 8 yo Grandson loves making vignettes out of the Tamiya 1/48 MM stuff, my 1/48 aircraft, and the HobbyBoss 1/48 LCM. Merit 1/48 PT boat to come. You may have seen the review of this kit on another UK reviewer, and both of you are correct! This would have done better with an interior however, but I will still buy it. Maybe for my grandson's first kit to make!
Well at under £25 it's a nice and easy build as you say aimed at the beginner or for someone who needs this for a diorama it's on the money, l would buy it because sometimes you need to do a kit that you don't have to do much thinking with 😥and so you get a 10/10 as always Peter
Nice review again Peter! Thumbs up from me! 😂 Looks a nice simple build (which I really need at the moment! ) 😒 looking forward to the Tamiya talk. See ya later
Hi Peter, I have only recently subscribed to your channel and started to watch your content both past and present, and it has taken me back to the memories of happier times for me as a youngster when I used to go to our local model shop with my older brother and father who have both sadly passed away. Many thanks for what you do and please keep up the great content. Thankyou, Mark.
Don't forget during war time you can never say never about anything, especially where certain equipment was used. It might have been standard practice not to use the Austin ambulance by the RAF but you know that probably one or two were used at some time.
Nice little kit .am sure I have built the airfix 1/76 Katie and a fire tender or fuel truck can't quite remember. The blood hound and landrover came with the c130 me dad built the herc and I built the verchles ah happy days lol .
Hey Peter, from one avid modeler to another, how many kits have you thrown to the scrap heap, especially as of the last 10 years???? There are some kits I have bought, but I don't have the perseverance to finish. I have finished the 1/48 Eduard Hellcat, it took 3 years!!! Mostly sitting on the shelf. Just ready to paint. But I just got board of it. That includes Tamiya's 1/48 Mosquito. Tamiya's decals suck and a great paint job, they will ruin!!!! I have almost got Accurate Miniatures1/48 Vindicator built, but the canopy fit is atrocious. I almost feel like throwing it away because I am frustrated!!!!! Even if I were to get it together, it would not meet my standards anyway. It would certainly be on the chopping block. I am rambling for sure, frustrated for sure. I don't need to pull my hair out on an (easy) build. Oh by the way, keep up the good work!!!!
I actually only binned one, a Matchbox Hunter that was horribly warped...The Sea Harrier box was binned but the kit was built...I binned the box to exorcise the ghost of an unpleasant build. 😜 Thanks for the encouragement.👍🏻

Thanks Rob! 👍🏻
their 1/48 ground vehicles all seem pretty cool so far
Decals look nice and opaque Peter

Nice little kit and would be a lovely addition to an aircraft vignette for sure 👌

Another solid review Peter, most enjoyable. I think this will go nicely into a diorama for building in early 2024 alongside a 1:48 Mustang. Chris
It would make a nice diorama for a scene from Ice Cold In Alex.
Very nice kit congratulations
On another note Pete I recently built the tamiya Citroen traction 11cv in 48th scale again very simple kit but such a great fit with fine detail

Nice to go with the RAF Tilly

Thanks Mark. ☺️
Called a Katy as an alternative to a K2 which is what they were, an Austin K2
Rats, I missed another one. I'll have to spend half the weekend catching up...
Dear Peter,
Well researched and presented reviews are nice to watch- this belongs firmly in that category!
A good point about the tyres!!

Z

Oddly enough the RAF Museum in Hendon has one on display. Why would they have one, if the RAF didn't use them, at least at some point?
10/10 👍
Hi Peter
Hi Peter, I've built the Gecko 1/35 scale version, this looks like a nice little build if your Mojo has taken a hit 😖👍
Yes indeed, they are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum on detail, but thats great...you pays your money...☺️

That Bloodhound just been re-issued and is due out again in the shops very soon!👍🏻
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab I don't think the old eye sight is up for vehicles in that scale anymore lol 😂
@@davroshalfbeard8368 I am the same in 1/72! 🤣
It's quite interesting as I picked up 1:35 Gecko Katy a few months ago 7:43
Now if this vehicle was used until the 1960s, it has quite a few possibilities
Tamiya decals seem thick but lay down perfectly with GS Mr Mark Softer or their own products which are exactly the same
What about the Accurate Armour Kit?
