Great reaction as always. This song is definitely pure power metal, the message, the guitar work, the uplifting feel, it's all there. And I agree with the length comment, to me this feels like a 4:30 song. It really flies by.
Agree, HARUNA just teases us with her chops. She stays subtly in the pocket while executing blistering fills and peddle work that is so tastefully done that it can go unnoticed. 🥁⭐🏆
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics: Everything around us will fall into dark When you keep on looking into the sadness Nobody in this world may ever be free My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light in this world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow A blur in the future, the fear of unknown There will come a time where we can leave everything behind Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky Together we will make it through this deep night Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together, Nothing more precious ----- lyrics: asami music: midori & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
Great review as usual - This song actually has some interesting lyrics to it (it was the first new song they released after the pandemic turned the world upside down and was meant to bolster people's spirits). I know lyrics aren't necessarily something you usually comment on, so the fact you didn't comment on them doesn't necessarily carry any significance but it did get me wondering how you are doing with Asami's accent these days - if I'm honest it's been close to three years now since I first discovered them and while I can mostly understand her now, I do still struggle with her accent at times (oddly only when she sings though, never really had any trouble understanding her when she speaks English). If you weren't making out the words though, I would recommend if you do a repeat watch of the video to turn on the CC subtitles and check them out.
Man, after that intro it was like pedal to the max instantly and till the end. I like it. What a song to drive to, especially if you want to get somewhere real fast. What a ball buster of a song.
I feel good about that score too! I agree with you about Midori being the shredder and Miyako playing with soul and emotion, that is what makes them a great duo! Thank you for reacting to this video.
another solid lovebites song~~ this one is really pretty imo, and YET AGAIN- another song i can’t quite sing but certainly try. those highnotes at the end of the chorus just get me lol
Thanks Dave for the great reaction and score! Hope you're feeling better, your allergies look like they were kicking your a** ☹ Looking forward to more reactions to LOVEBITES 🐺🤘
the next lovebites song should be Dystopia Symphony because in my opinion it is one of their most complex songs. I loved your video as always, I send you a big hug from Colombia
great reaction david surprised we got another lovebites song so soon. but i'm happy though. hopefully you will do a song from there latest show called FROZEN SERENADE. i think you will love it. have a great day!!!
To me this is one of Haruna's finest performances. All kinds of little stuff here and there to grab your interest without her insane double kick ability in play.
Wow. Excellent score. Couldnt imagine what the score woulda been if you did the live version lol. They nailed this song live. Awesome song and awesome review 🤘🤘
if only David watching Lovebites - The Unbroken or Spellbound (live in Tokyo) it's an underrated song, but I'm sure you will like it more than this I hope someone leaves the link in the comments by the way this is a great review
The Unbroken: ua-cam.com/video/c8ubjVmYhR0/v-deo.html Spellbound: ua-cam.com/video/dizhj6G8BLc/v-deo.html FYI - by the time Dave gets around to doing these the links will probably be dead since both are likely to be removed from YT by the band's label at any moment. Currently they are both still up. I just checked them.
I'm wondering when you did this one, because this video has nearly 1.5 million views. That aside, excellent review (as usual) of an excellent song. It's almost impossible to listen to this song without having a smile on your face.
Few reactors see that unison line.Glad that you did . Miho with her finger plucking style is just definitely awesome. Great reaction 🤘..... but I feel the band as a whole gels . Their incredible individual talent makes it a feast to our eyes and ears. Glory to Lovebites! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺 MIHO! MIHO! MIHO! 🤘🐺🔥
I get the feeling I’m the only one getting an Ecstasy of Gold feeling from the intro. So at the risk of embarrassing myself, I’m gonna put that out there.
If you were to do a mirror image (reverse image) of the videos you wouldn't need to ever stop. Not saying you would want to do that. But you wouldn't have to worry about the clock.
Despite the song being composed by Midori, the unison and harmony phrases played by the three guitars and bassists were very fast and difficult, she said in an interview. lol Also,You said Midori was a shredder and Miyako was a soulful player, but Midori herself said I was in charge of dropping bombs. lol
Great reaction, thanks David. One of their most popular songs : second in number of votes for the best album, reached 1M in only 3-4 months,... Composed by MIDORI, the absolute shredder💚, who should definitely compose more songs ! Live version is even better.
The last 24 seconds are not particularly relevant to the lyrical theme of the song, but they are relevant to the video theme of the song. Asami said that the video elements are meant to be an imagining of what it would be like for Christ, if he were reincarnated (her word) into the confusion of the modern day, implying at the end that their music helped him find his way back to his purpose. The song has multiple layers of meaning. Our girl Midori was the one who wrote the music! She had visited the US in 2020, just before the pandemic, and while she was here, she was invited to attend some Southern Gospel church services, and she was impressed with the passion and style of the music there, so she wrote the song as a tribute to Gospel music she heard at those churches. They also wanted to write a song of encouragement for all the people who have suffered grief and loneliness and depression through the pandemic, so the song serves both purposes. Lyrically, it primarily encompasses the pandemic theme, but Asami also threw a few gospel music lyrical tropes in to fit Midori's gospel tribute. Making the video themed around a resurrected Jesus was an idea that came later to reflect the Christmas season, as it was around Christmas when the video was filmed.
Great reaction! This was not one of my favorites at first, but now it's getting up there. I'm really really starting to love the guitar solos! Also the things that you pointed out, like the unison line that you paused for. And Haruna! She's so so good technically, but she is also so consistent in doing exactly what is needed for the song. She's amazing! 😀🥁 To us fans of newer Iron Maiden, 6 minutes is a fun little rocker. 🤣🤘
This video is not their best in my view and as it is an official music video, not your favourite choice but you still enjoyed the video far more than I expected. For me, the bloke wandering about should be completely removed from the video but others may disagree. I believe Midori wrote this song and it is certainly played at a frantic pace. Another score in the nines which is fantastic. Glory to The world, is not one of my favourites. For me it borders on being over produced. Thank you for picking up on Haruna's choice of cymbals. I am not sure what that crash cymbal had done to her but she certainly was giving it some serious stick in the closing bars. So glad your reaction and review did not get blocked. As you said, the song flies by and UA-cam are waiting to pounce!
Great review again!! I was going to suggest you the live version of Winds of Transylvania ua-cam.com/video/VMnUYhwLxXg/v-deo.html for your next reaction, a tight and brutal piece, but I suggest A Frozen Serenade live 2021 Ride for Vengeance Tour ua-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/v-deo.html. It's much better than the studio recording with the sound and visual performance. Miho's doing great job. It's got some surprises, and Miyako's sick riff and Midori's passionate solo and magnificent riff to the end. It's got some great unison parts. It is the most beautiful piece.
This song has grown on me after listening to it occasionally since it was released. I'll admit, I was pretty resistant to the overtly theatrical orchestral direction they were taking right before Miho left. I tend to reflexively cringe whenever a rock band attempts to incorporate a musical score approach to the writing. It's tastefully done and not overdone. (The issue is with my expectations. I have the same resistance to Nightwish, even though their stuff is tastefully done. I blame the reflexive cringe effect on my older brother's Rick Wakeman, Moody Blues and Yanni albums.)
Actually majority of Lovebites songs are way past 5 minutes. Just checking the first 3 songs from your lovebites playlist: Epilogue 8+ minutes, We the united 6+ minutes, Even Hammer of Wrath is 6 minutes 49 seconds WITH the "awakening" intro (intro was not in your reaction clip). They structure their songs in a way that they are not too repetitive, and they have long solos, which make them easily reach past 5 min in total duration. As expected... this song is better seen in live version. They performed it live in 2021. I don't think there is video in youtube about it, so MV is good :)
thank you for doing my suggestions Beth Hart I Am The One.. video and a great score 9.2 , but you did say she could only sing blues you have to hear her cover of.....Humble Pie I Dont Need No Doctor..................... she is a Rock Star it might beat the 9.2 I see a 10 commin
Yes David, I have almost watched all your Lovebites reactions. Soon there. Big Up❣🙏🐺🤟

LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
Nothing more precious
