In the months following Pearl Harbor, the Imperial Japanese Navy conducted operations at sea, threatening British Royal Navy dominance in the area.
The most dangerous moment of the war, and the one which caused me the greatest alarm, was when the Japanese fleet was heading for Ceylon and the naval base there. The capture of Ceylon, the consequent control of the Indian Ocean, and the possibility at the same time of a German conquest of Egypt would have closed the ring and the future would have been black.

March 31, 1942, Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, her forces had overrun Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore, the Dutch East Indies, and Burma. Now the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army were heating up for an assault on India, the jewel in the British imperial crown.
I do like how this mod included the Thai armed forces in some way.

I wish War on the Sea was a better game. It has such obvious potential but the way it was executed is just tedious. I really WANT to like this game.

mate, your content is excellent. very enjoyable to watch. you have the editing skills of a legend. youtubers with more subs have much less quality edits - your nailing it.
So something I started doing against the subs is when they fire their torps, I slam half my convoy in reverse and the other half full speed ahead. It's usually pretty effective
You should turn your ships towards the torpedo bombers so that you can maneuver in between the torp spread.
Nice to see this series almost at an end.
Loved this series would like maybe a reverse perspective on this campaign next

If y’all haven’t seen you can click on a convoy and there’s a box made of four arrows and you use navigation and click two point then that button and it’ll auto make your convoy patrol a path back and fourth with as many pathway points as you want really good I set subs out way before my battle groups and close down whole island chains to the enemy while auto setting my float planes to patrol
Does the campaign end as soon as you gain control of Rangoon or do you have to capture everything else? Also love the videos!

Another great mod. I'm going to get it added to my War on the Sea base program.
Why won't you turn away from bombers and then manuever from torpedos? That would be much easier to manuever around since bombers tend to go with wide straight spreads and all you'll need to do is just turn a little to avoid fish.
A bit late to the party I saw the video but didn’t get time to watch it now I’m watching this and 3 seapower videos back to back
I personally think subs don't work in the game, at least not they way they should. When you're using them, it totally catches the AI offguard and it doesn't react until a ship gets hit. When the AI uses them against you, you get a warning, you're put into combat and after 2-3 seconds you can safely assess you're being ambushed by a submarine and start countering it before it even reveals its presence. With the way the game is set up I don't think the devs can improve up on this either

@@YOUPIMatin123 There is a Mediterranean mod for the game, it released not long ago
@@Atesz222 I think the issue is with the "as the Germans" part. The German's weren't known for their Mediterranean Fleet before the war, and getting U-boats through the straits was dangerous enough, the British would not have allowed surface ships through even if the German command was foolish enough to attempt it. Any German surface vessels in the theatre would have been captured ships or coastal boats, the largest of which was a destroyer, Vasilefs Georgios, that was originally Greek. This meant the most prominent Mediterranean naval presence for the Axis was Italian, by a far margin.
@@emm4rmstrong The mod has a bunch of Italian units aswell (though it's not following the timeline of events at all.. like Mk 24 Spitfires firing RP-3 rockets at German CVs in 1940). I guess using "Axis" instead of "Germans" would've been more correct

I have this game wish listed now
You need to understand that fighter aircraft with wing mounted guns have a convergence point, usually 200-300 yards in front of the aircraft... And the Brits in their wisdom decided to use .303 cal machine guns because they could carry more ammunition per gun, left their pilots at a disadvantage in air combat the Sea Hurricane had 8 X .303 machine guns where as the BF-109 was armed with as much as 2 X 13mm machine guns, 2 X 20mm cannons and a 30mm cannon firing down the propeller shaft...
The odds of facing a 109 in the Indian Ocean/SE Asia are kinda remote, though.
