I miss my atrix, literally the best phone I ever had. Battery lasted me 2 days, camera optics were really good for 5MP, and it had a fingerprint reader.
Just bought this phone a couple weeks ago from Motorola. I put my GoPhone sim card in it as well as a 32 GB SD card. It takes some getting used to and the stuff it comes with is a bit different, but overall I love it!
i have the motorola atrix and have been using it for 3 weeks now, if you use the phone for the internet or videos (about 10min.) the battery life is not that good. i start the phone around 6am, it does not always make it to 9:00pm. Without any data usage it makes it to around 9:30pm. battery life is something to be desired
just got it and love it. Battery life SOOOO much better than htc inspire and thunderbolt. i run LauncherPro to cover up Motoblur. In my opinion its the equivalent to the iphone 4. just depends if u like android or iOS better..
@ForgottenP Agreed, i have a friend who has a 3 year old nokia smartphone but can usually last about a week one a single charge. This is something that android needs to improve on without needing to buy extended batteries
@ismfadillah qHD is just a marketing trick. Atrix's resolution is not 540 x 960 becuase it has PenTile matrix wich means it has RGBW pixels and not normal RGB pixels, so it's real resolution is 440 x 770 wich is pretty bad.
@phonedog i think that qHD is just the screen resolution, and not the display technology.. instead of the regular 480 x 800, qHD has 540 x 960 pixels.. the display itself is i believe regular TFT instead of super AMOLED or retina display..
Its a tough balance to provide such a feature-rich phone yet maintaining acceptable battery life. Despite the 1900+ mAh, I'd wait to read/hear about the real world battery life on such a device before pulling the trigger.
This is the thing I've had the the HTC Aria for some months now but since I've done 2 insurance claims I can no longer get this phone and the Motorola Axtrix is my new phone. I wanna know is this a really really good phone I'm picky when it comes to new cell phones fingers crossed.
@MinDControlDx oh wow, that sounds like a deal breaker to me.. i believe that HTC Pyramid (which is just a rumor right now, but the rumors sound REALLY great) is supposed to have qHD as well.. is it the same PenTile matrix deal just like this one?? (i may still buy it if its the case, but im just wondering)..
anyone looking to buy this phone might want to go look at best buy they are selling the ATRIX 2 for 50 bucks with either a 2year contract extension/upgrade or a new 2 year contract.
just wanna let some of u guys know that if ur planning on buying this phone note that the interface is now different due to the gingerbread update (dont remember the numbers sorry :/) just fyi its a great phone :)
@jreese6969 the reason is it's on android 2.2.....It needs 2.3 or the coming 2.4 to perform as well as it should - imo it's terrible by motorola to release this only with 2.2 :S
Yeah I had mine for 9 months the fingerprint sensor stopped working and the touchscreen became completely unresponsive, so I brought it back and got a refund. It was a great phone until the touchscreen stopped working
@jordancrockett retina is just apple's LED 960 x 544 res IPS display , or in another name : LCD display ( with LED backlighting ) . you too are misinformed by the master of misinformer : apple .
And Apple fanboys say iPhone was the first one to release a fingerprint sensor 🤔
Yup
I miss my atrix, literally the best phone I ever had. Battery lasted me 2 days, camera optics were really good for 5MP, and it had a fingerprint reader.
great phone..... more than 3 years old.. stil working flawlessly... one of the best phone i ever used of that period.

I just searched first fingerprint phone on google and landed here
I thought Samsung was the first one to introduce finger print sensor
This deserves to be watched in HD.
Great phone! A year and a half ago! Still good though. I like the finger print lock and the way it shuts off like a television.

"It's a smarttop, its a lapphone, its a lap.. a topphone... nevermind"
I LOL'ed
I cringe at how pinch to zoom in the browser was very responsive by that time's standards.
Nice unboxing. If you need to do a hard reset for the Motorola Atrix check out

@ForgottenP Agreed, i have a friend who has a 3 year old nokia smartphone but can usually last about a week one a single charge. This is something that android needs to improve on without needing to buy extended batteries

@ismfadillah

9:48 "something about spending $1000 on a phone seems wrong".
Fast forward to 2018...
Great Phone, great Bear, this smartphone is obsoluted best of Motorola Andoid history i like thanks for the video!
I had this phone a few years back it it was so shit. it broke for me like 4 times but the screen never cracked
Its a tough balance to provide such a feature-rich phone yet maintaining acceptable battery life. Despite the 1900+ mAh, I'd wait to read/hear about the real world battery life on such a device before pulling the trigger.
so aaron is this you personal device ?
watching this in moto g5s plus..... grandchildren watching unboxing of grandfather....😊😊😊
It took me a while to find the battery but do they have a play store
Atrix is a cool name
Why wouldn't AT&T prioritize their review units and give them to Phone Dog?
@pokelover32 oh and honestly could not tell from appearance or performance that they weren't new. At&t did a good job with their refurbs
Is the Atrix just for the US market, are there any chances of it getting to Europe?
This is the phone i want and yes with the laptop. This is what I would upgrade to I like it a lot
im confused, is the laptop dock a new motorola laptop or is it just a dock which can be attached to any laptop
at first,is the screen or phone on......?
you can get games on this phone, yes?
Apparently not, but I brought, yesterday I buy it.
thats a durable bag!!

I love my atrix!
@ismfadillah
I don't think so, HTC never used PenTile matrix before.
O_o Lmao @ 4:02 " Go head a rip that out and take a... Holy Crap!!'
Smile of the day lmao =)
@ferguskyli it is essentially a giant screen with a keyboard that isn't useful at all unless you have the phone docked. then it becomes a giant phone.
You MUST of killed everyone else on the phonedog team Aaron. anyways DOPE phone :)
anyone looking to buy this phone might want to go look at best buy they are selling the ATRIX 2 for 50 bucks with either a 2year contract extension/upgrade or a new 2 year contract.

Watching this on an iPhone 11 Pro in 2020 😁
can you test sketchbook and droid cad on it?
when he said '' its a smarttop, its a lapphone, its a lap.. a topphone.. nevermind ''
in '' its a lap.. '' he almost said its a smartlap or lap smart
$500 for the laptop (that is not a laptop) dock? Or I could buy an actual laptop for the same price.
Hey I bougt it and it doesn't bring "spanish" as language option, any help?
qHD = 960 x 540 which is 3 quarters of 720p HD and 1 quarter of Full HD 1080P
@pibax ya that's sad but did you see the guy with the golden voice?!?!?!
@jreese6969 the reason is it's on android 2.2.....It needs 2.3 or the coming 2.4 to perform as well as it should - imo it's terrible by motorola to release this only with 2.2 :S

DOes this phone REALLY cost 200 dollars only!?
@Tr1pTr0p You're a life saver.

This phone has pentile matrix so the real resolution is 770x440 and not qHD!!=
Cant put on a custom rom, you can root it but the bootloader is encrypted.
