Mad props to Mark Suciu for showing up to his first BATB game ever and holding strong against skateboarding and BATB god Chris Cole in what ended up being the 4th-longest BATB battle* Ever. * very few BATB games have been ones I’d honor with the classification of “battle”, but Suciu-Cole ranks high among those few. Suciu’s R1 loss was in a finals-worthy battle, and I say this quite comfortably, having watched every single BATB game. That game was legitimately top-notch. The fact that Cole and Suciu observably hold each other in highest regard only makes it better. What a gift to everyone.
Jonny Geiger don’t seem to do so well under pressure so I don’t see him advancing either. I also agree on Tyler Peterson. He’s hungry and has the skills to win this for sure.
Agreed, I like andy anderson's skating and personality but his mano a mano performance made me laugh so much. He would do shit like a feeble, axel, feeble, axel, 5-0 combo stall. Then when the opponent missed it he would immediately do feeble, axel, feeble, axel, 5-0, feeble combo stall
It's crazy people still sleeping on him and he even better this year with new trick and is consistant AF . I saw him play a friendly game of 15 letter skate against Jonny and got him 5 letter really quickly. First try double fs nollie flip and double hard flip is nuts. Jamie is going to win it again at least thus time there is better competition.
Hoping Tyler Peterson gets washed earlier on than expected because hes a Cariuma pawn. Sewa beating Jamie would be a thunderous upset, but interesting since the semi finals bracket on the right becomes a bit more open!

Psychologically the skater on offence has just taken a knock by not landing and handing over to someone who dealt with everything thrown at them. So if the next trick set is relatively difficult there's surely a small psychological opening...
I seen two letters for suciu that were not called. First one they showed the replay of suciu foot landing more on the ground then the board, would not consider it a toe drag if your foot comes off the board and balances on the ground the moment you land. and the following trick cole popped his tail and suciu did not pop.
Regarding general battle tactics, is there an argument to immediately jump into higher difficulty (less commonly learnt) tricks which a skater feels a certain level of confidence in rather than risk losing the offence to a mistimed mediocre trick. I see Giger tried that but it didn't work out...but can see the idea could work
Your videos are great - was hoping you'd say something about Koston's lazy round one performance. It was pretty clear that he had not prepared and then I saw in one of the other videos that he said exactly that. A bunch of comments about how he is a classic etc, but was hoping he would show up prepared.
If you pay attention to his attitude, Koston really does not give a solitary shit about the berrics other than that Berra runs it effectively enough to handle the house payments 😂😂
@@coliimusic yeah. koston is an absentee owner / silent partner. the berrics is, at this point, berra’s advertising/marketing hustle. he uses it as a vehicle for the brands he quietly owns and the influencers he grooms under them (skate goat, skate mama, etc), for the brands he promotes via featured skaters (cariuma), and the brands who actually advertise openly through the berrics. all of these are pretty dishonorable except for the last. he uses a business model based on exploiting “internships” with people given non-binding promises/hopes of jobs, on relationships with old pros who still have a little name equity, and then a lot of payment for business decisions which amount to nothing more than stealth promotion for brands (and their riders) who wrote him checks. koston doesn’t gaf. he’s set for life and actually minds being seen as a clown, so berra just hustles his hustle and koston gets whatever cut he gets.
I will say, the fact that there’s only one cariuma v cariuma battle in the first round is a _tiny_ bit questionable given the sponsorship. It’s not heavy handed but it’s notable.

Kinda agree with all the outcomes/winners per game.. I only think leo is gonna either smoke hoban with the strategy of doing every single basic trick (and doing 'em pretty and riding fast) with some weird ones once in a while, or the nerves get to braden and he just misses everything..
