      @@mr.snapdazzle5416the only part about that which bothered me was Tyler’s pre game interview when he mentioned he hasn’t been practicing flatground much lately. We all know that was a flamboyant lie. Chris Roberts even accidentally outed him a few minutes later when he said Tyler has been at the Berrics everyday from 8am-8pm. I will say as much hate as I’ve directed towards Tyler i don’t dislike him quite as much as after the championship. Berrics should pull the plug on BATB, it has lost all of its magic. Bad brackets yes, but also the energy of the games is so weird. These games used to be fun because of the way pros used to battle with basic tricks first then crazy tricks cuz their whole fuckin lives weren't staked on this one game so winning the game as quick as possible at all costs wasn't the goal. Of course they still wanted to win, but it wasn't what their whole careers were based off of. Yes it is a competition and its not slimy to be only focused on winning, it just makes for a boring game

      @@brun0mq the irony is, Tyler's the one that did an arguably clown trick that's never been done before in BATB, let alone be defended: pressure heel body varial. While Jamie got Tyler letters, by doing tricks that also well known skaters have done previously in BATB.
      - Switch FS flip
      - FS big heel (PRod's favorite I guess? Even Moose gave it another 180 to make it FS gazelle heel vs Cole)
      - BS bigger spin (one of Shane O'Neill's special)

      His style is up there with Dylan Jaeb on flat. Unbelievable precision and I’m genuinely surprised he missed that last inward heel bigger flip. His approach is really the only way to take down Jaime and he came so damn close again. Dude has to be so bummed for losing the title to Jaime yet again. He looked very nervous before the game but he skated as well as always, just the death blow. I was rooting for him and don’t get the massive amount of hate he gets (yea he skates the Berrics a lot, it’s a contest and it should be taken seriously). Also rooted for Holt but know he had no chance against Tyler or Jamie, those two have been the best for two seasons straight (crazy thing is Jamie was down to T in round 1 last season against Spencer Barton, Spencer deserved a spot back for sure). In a different timeline Jamie would’ve been out round 1 and possibly not been invited back, maybe Spencer would’ve gotten all the way to finals but we’ll never know. They def need to invite Spencer back and get Jaeb in there too, get better brackets instead of random.

      So, applying this to learning heaps of tricks with a double flip, yeh of course the other skater could have a wild amount of crazy single flip tricks in all stances, but can lose to double-flipping basics.

    Another BATB final’s night that I feel was way too short for the hype. They really need to switch to a best two out of three, there are too many single set games where the opponent can’t even get a chance to set. It would also give us more skating to watch. The Tyler vs Jaime battle was so high level and was the highlight as most expected. Honestly thought Nick held off Jamie longer than I expected but still a quick game, especially for the final match. 4:21 nitpicking a bit, but I'd call that a pressure heel body varial. Despite using his toe to flip it, it flips the way a heelflip would flip. It's basically a traditional pressure flip that flips like an inward heel, but combined with a fs 180 that cancels out the 180 of the board. Just like how you'd do a varial flip+fs 180 in a skateboarding video game to get a kickflip body varial. If his back foot was on the other "corner" of the board it'd be a toe flip body varial (or pressure kickflip... whatever you wanna call it, I can do this one).

    Hello dumb data, just wanted to correct you a little on the trick that Tyler did and you called it a pressure kickflip body varial. Its actually pressure heelflip body varial because of the stance and the board rotation. See, if it was kickflip, then Tyler would rotate the same direction as the board did, but Tyler went right and the board went left just like the regular heelflip. Its also the same reason why pressure flip was called a diff variation of inward heel XD. It just rotates the same way as inw heel, same stuff with pressure heel, you just add a body varial on it and thats why it kinda looks like a kickflip.
    Im not tryna be cocky or something, just giving some words on it. Ive been doing this trick for 1.5 years and I kinda had my eyes rolled out when I saw him doing it. To this day, I was the only person in my city who even knew about it and giving somebody the last latter on this trick was a fun thing to do lol.

      @mclarensaleenf7 10 місяців тому

      I agree, the finals are far too short and anticlimactic. I’m in favor of switching to a 2 out of 3 for every match though. There’s plenty of early games where guys don’t even get a chance at offense. And we would see more skating, they’d have different strategies so different tricks. Loser of the first game gets starting set for the second game. They’ve been lengthening the game edits by showing trick cuts for far too long the last few years. Go back and watch old BATB and you’ll immediately see what we’ve been missing. The rapid fire cuts hype up the games so much better than long cuts (we don’t need a 10 second cut for every easy trick, only major/consequential tricks).
      Overall BATB has gotten a lot less enjoyable since last season and that’s big part of it for me. The editing is too slow, bores me to death even with great games. Finals maybe should have “skateboard” but still best 2 outta 3 imo

I will say I gained a bit more respect for Tyler after this battle and seeing some actual footage of him skating during the cariuma video. Also he was a bit more likeable during this whole event compared to previous showings. Though I’m sure he knew most people weren’t exactly huge fans of his and likely did whatever he could to avoid anymore hate
