I always thought that by breadth Alt and Taylor meant that conversation at the beginning of a relationship of excessive and meaningless, but as the depth increases the breadth decreases and conversation becomes more concentrated. Could this cause me to lose marks?
I doubt with the justification you have given you would be penalised, as you clearly are able to make a good point. But I would suggest there are things you wouldn't mention on a first date (desire to want lots children, marriage plans, money problems ext) that you would start to talk about later on in the relationship. So yeah, my interpretation is that as relationships develop, you feel more comfortable talking about more topics.
