This is really helpful: the lighting the background music no paragraphs of words on powerpouint slides Thank you so much sir~ I could not find psychology videos like this and no matter how much I reread over the textbook, the content would 'fly' out of my head I'm going to recommend it to the psychology team in school!!
Delighted you found the channel and have been enjoying the videos 😀 Really appreciate your kind words and encouragement. All the best with your studies 👍
Thank you very much😊Appreciate you taking the comment. Hope the rest of the videos help your understanding, and don’t forget the free resource that goes along with each Attachment video!
Best way to remember at this stage is active recall! 1) Get a blank piece of paper, write down everything you can for a section of attachment - check your notes. Do it again! (You could just speak it aloud instead of write - its a lot quicker). 2) Spend your time looking at some past exam papers tonight on attachment (without notes). Say the answers aloud - then look at mark scheme. Repeat on the questions you don't know, and keep going until you reduce the number of questions you don't know. Sorry I don't have more attachment videos at this point to help.
Thanks Shanaya 😄Great to hear you are enjoying the videos! Currently working on attachment, then Biopsychology will be next. Are you currently studying A-level Psychology or a different course?
@@BearitinMIND Im currently in yr12 studying psychology and only stumbled upon your videos recently. You've saved me right before my mock and I will look out for your upcoming videos! Thank you !☺
Hello sir I got my paper 1 tomorrow so I got 2 random questions. Regarding the topic of Research methods, are surveys a test of correlation or difference? Also would surveys be an example of nominal, ordinal or interval data? Thanks a lot🙏
Good questions :) Looooong answers: 1. Surveys could be used in a correlation OR difference (experiment). It depends on the research. For example, in an experiment they could measure the DV through a survey. However, in the exam you want to look out for other clues/indications as to whether its a correlation or difference. For example, look for words such as 'relationship/association/link' for correlation. You will also see that there will be TWO measurements in a correlation. And there will be no IV. In contrast experiments will have and IV and DV, and be able to control lots of other extraneous variables. 2. In terms of level of measurement (nominal, ordinal, interval) in general surveys are often ordinal data because its not a fixed equal interval/unit of measurement (distance, time, weight) and so is best treated as ordinal. Also surveys often include rating scales and they are a good example of ordinal data. BUT the answer is it depends. This is because you need to remember that levels of measurement is about the data you get off your participants. So an IQ test for example (which might be taken via a survey/questionnaire) could be interval data because IQ measurement is thought to be a fixed equal interval. However, you could rightly argue in the exam that 'we cannot be sure the data is of a fixed equal interval' and decide to treat it as ordinal data, and rank the data. Hope that helps.
My baby didn’t go through these levels. She has shown attachment only to me since the moment she was born. Literally. If anyone else holds her, she screams until I take her. Even now, at 5mo, my husband can hold her just a few min before she starts crying. She’s worse with family as she doesn’t see them often.
Thanks for your message. It sounds like life at the moment as a parent is rather hard and very draining [hugs!]. At around the same sort of age, my daughter was similar, and would only settle with my wife which meant a lot of lost sleep and exhaustion. But hang in there. Things do change and improve. In terms of Schaffer's stages and your baby not going through them, remember that there are many problems and limitations with these stages as outlined in the video and this certainly isn't the standard by which to judge yourself. I had taught about this for many years, and then when I had children, I came to realise that these stages doesn't quite match reality. We also have to remember that every child is different and unique, and we are called to love and care for them through their development however that progresses. All the best with your parenting. Keep going!

Any advice on how to remember more of attachment? Probably the main area that will trip me up!
