It's round 10% difference. No car manufacturer does that. Also it's 185/65 R15 in top model and 185/70r14 in lower variants which is logical upgrade from stock 165/80r14.
I have done over 30k kms on Michelin xm2 plus on my vw polo, the tyres are still as good as new. Grip levels and braking is fantastic as compared to the previous good year ones
Should have done a blind braking test.. so that you don't know which car has which Tyre.. that would have made the test amazing. Later they can disclose which car had Bridgestone & Michelin respectively.. Hope they consider this suggestion
I used bridgestone at 26,000 kms and the tyre lasted till 58,000 kms...I then changed Michelin at 58,000 kms and sold my car at 96,000 kms and I was surprised when the buyer asked whether I changed my tyres recently..it was like nearly brand new...no punctures or problems for almost 40,000 kms and it was like new...to be frank even if you try, you cant kill the tyre that easy...As Faisal bro said change and forget...

I just changed my Vento tyres to XM2 + glad its a improved vesrion of the XM2. Changed from good year. It is definately better in comfort and braking and cornering.

This is the 3rd gen. And between two swifts, there wouldn't be any difference with the brakes, that im sure of but there might be a slight change in the suspension setup. But it wouldn't have add up to 4 metres of braking distance between the two tyres.
B290 is a cheaper tyre compared to XM2plus .Not a fare comparison .I think comparison should be with Turanza .And it is a fact Turanza are much more comfy and silent than same size XM2.

It would have been more convincing if Michelin had used cars belonging to the same variant. ZDi variant is heavier than the VDi variant, which would have worked against the Michelin tyres actually but the fact that Faisal felt that the Michelin tyres performed better than the Bridgestones says a lot about Michelin tyres.
That's no problem.....when you press the clutch, the gear is disengaged until you release the clutch....you can even go from 2nd to 5th if your car has high gear ratios... Just remember to match the revs.....he was on 100 when he shifted to 5th....rpm would have been around 2100 or so....but doing that kind of thing on a speed of 50.....the engine would struggle and stop

The fact that Michelin was Factory worn out and Bridgestone was worn in regular use means Bridgestone tyre was OLDER which might affect the grip!

There is another variable here. Swift has a larger brake booster in the Z variants and that can make a lot of difference.
