The soil in the area I live in, in central Florida is all sand. When I dig down several feet all I shovel is sand and no clay. I don't think building a cob house would work here.
@@RogueSplice My old 1935 house is supported by pillars. The bathroom floor shook a lot. I took up the floor and dug down several feet to install a new pillar. All I found was sand and no clay. There is another building on my property that is a small cinder block building build
Thanks, I Iook forward to your reply. Soil is all sand in this area. Wood frame houses are on pillars. There are a lot of cinder block houses here. These must have a good support system to support the walls is all I can say. Thanks, Wayne

Interesting. I'll have to ask Matt next time I see him what he thinks about that. Here in Oregon I can definitely say there is a lot of clay dirt.
