I'm weird, I kept every cell phone I've ever had. One time I plugged one into see if it still worked for the hell of it, and it did! It was pretty surreal reading texts from 12 years ago 📱👀

I think most people keep their old cellphones, what else to do with them? If you don't change phones every year, your old phone is not worth the time and effort to sell.
Also, why would it not work? People have gadgets for 30+ years and they still work.
You are not weird, you are like everyone else.

Yes same here, I got a box with about twenty five or so phone's from the last fifteen or so years, and they really are neat little time capsules for some nosetalgia, reading old Texts, looking at old pictures of friends and family, some that are gone or moved on.

I've also kept some of my old phones(mostly pre Android, and couple backup Android phones) that were not trashed, and had some memories attached to them, but now that Google transfers my text from one phone to the next, along with everything else, it's less of an issue to keep so many of my old phones, and I end up either giving them to family who can use them, recycling them, or donating them to "Cell Phones for Soldiers"

Back when phones were exciting. The new razr+ 2023 sparked alot of interest in these newer foldables for me. It's the first one in the America's that actually looks like it isn't just a proof of concept. I'm picking it up and I've got that feeling I used to get back in the day. Y'know, when grabbing a new phone actually felt like an upgrade and gave you excitement.

@@weeboutthere427 I totally agree with you! WHEN is Apple going to put out something exciting? From the iPhone 6 all the way to the current iPhone 15 very little has changed visually as far as the physical design or shell of the device, for the exception of rounding off the corners one year and squaring them off the following year, then back to the rounded edges design again and so on and so forth. Then they teeter back and forth with the materials from glass to aluminum and back to glass again. I think they threw titanium in the mix a few times, other than that not much as changed, BORING! Unless you're a die hard apple iPhone aficionado, the average person at first glance wouldn't be able to tell if you were holding an iPhone 8 plus from an iPhone 14 pro max, unless the back camera lenses were visable. Black squares is exactly what they are. The Motorola Razr is and always will be iconic & surely was ahead of its time both internally, but mostly by its esthetically pleasing metal design!

*_The RAZR wasn’t my first phone, but it was the first phone I bought with my own money. $200 back in 2005. While the phone was great, my memories of it were more centered around the tech. Wireless technology was changing so fast back then, and people didn’t have the understanding of it like they do today. I remember I had to drive to the city and park in a parking lot to download Doom RPG because it was the only place around that had 2G fast enough to do so. LOL I remember having it sitting on a table and my Uncle asked what it was. I told him it was my phone. Being completely serious, he replied, “No, really… what is it?” He couldn’t believe a phone could be so small. The RAZR really was the iPhone before the iPhone. Yes he mentions that in video about the newer foldable Razr models, but they are expensive, the screens are fairly fragile being made of such thin glass, and finding replacement parts can be a bit hard, plus being a bit tricky to work on as shown by Hugh Jefferies who does a lot of repair, and right to repair videos on his channel.

The camera on the Razr 2022 is just mediocre. Razr’s wide angle lenses are not great. Apparenntly the Razr 2022 has the highest megapixel count of smartphones, but despite this, the overall colour depth is not great and the overall phone is not worth 2k asking price.

The Razr was my first cellphone back when I was a freshman in high school. When I first saw one I knew I had to have it. It was actually quite practical for school too in that it fit nicely in my pockets without feeling awkward and clunky. It really seemed like the future back then, when phones were getting smaller and thinner. It seemed that the future of phones would eventually culminate to being phones that were essentially a sheet of glass, thin and small. And yeah, just about everyone was carrying Razrs back then. Then the first iPhone came out during my junior year and the paradigm at school shifted wildly. When once upon a time everyone seemed to be carrying Razrs they now all seemingly carried iPhones after its release. It was an interesting time seeing the birth of modern phones as we know them today.
At present I'm waiting for my new Galaxy Z Fold5 to deliver and so I'm taking a waltz through memory lane thinking back on my first phone. The Fold5 kinda reminds me of my old Razr in many ways. Thanks for this video as it was a nostalgic treat. I will have to find my Razr one day, it's boxed away somewhere at my place in some forgotten corner.

I loved my RAZR and was very upset the day it died because actually I left it on top of the dash of the truck and the sun cooked it the screens turned white. It was so cool to answer calls with the quick hand flip action

I was one of those kids that had the Sprint Katana, instead of the Razr. Honestly, just because of its durability, I'm so glad I had the Katana. I knew a small number of people with broken Razr screens, so I was pretty happy.

3:36 the one on the left is v3m and the right one is a gsm version which is why the keypad is different

There are plenty of great J2ME games out there and it's probably one of the most underrated libraries. Quite a few AAA games also got demake such as Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty which I've found to be pretty fun.

Visited my parents house and saw my old razr in my closet. Charged it up and it still turns on.
Still had messages in it from high school friends and exes I haven’t talked to in decades. Was just slack jawed.

Some of the best phones I ever had were Sanyo Flip phones. I always had Sprint, so didn't have any Razr. I did have the HTC Mogul that was basically a pocket PC. When it worked. Wasn't the most reliable phone, but ahead of it's time

I have a Razr V3XX and I loved it! It had a really nice and responsive UI, looked much better and smooth than the crud in the first V3. It also had a front camera when flipped out.

Loved mine - silver 2006 model. Used it till it broke in half at the hinge, then continued using it as the bottom/keypad dangled from the screen portion with a couple wires holding it together 😂

I used to have an older Motorola flip phone. It was before the Startac. I bought a car back in the 90's that had a cellphone mount installed. So I got the Motorola flip phone, and man. I think those cellphone plans were you got like only 30 minutes a month. I never really used the phone other than when I wanted to look cool.
