The original creators apparently left because they wanted to change up too many story elements for live-action but the producers wanted them to focus on adapting the cartoon as accurately as possible, it also took them over a year just to submit some draft scripting while no casting or other preproduction had been done (which is why there was no news at all for so long after it was announced) but when they left and Albert Kim came onboard instead, things started to move in the right direction
For me, the biggest things they've changed from the animated series (based only from this trailer) are: -Azula's character arc (with her being included one of the firebender archers); -The Kyoshi Island attacks commanded by Zhao instead of Zuko; -Ozai possibly getting more screen time in Book 1 (apart from the flashbacks); -Fire Nation's raid on the Air Temples will actually be more detailed Points 2-4 might actually worked, but how they'll introduce Azula so quickly in Book 1, I guess I'll have to see it for myself when the series aired. Only then I could judge if it worked or not.
@@_1Brick1_ That always bugs me. People forget that they were involved in the movie. I remember them being heavily in promotional intervierws before it came out with Shyamalan with direct quotes about them saying that they trusted him and that he understand the source material but after the negative backlash, suddenly they now claim to have not any involvment in it all (Despite having an Executive Producer credit) .
Interestingly the captions on the trailer says "Katara" at that point, but for the video (also by Netflix) of the cast reacting to the trailer, the captions say " 'Tara"
The original creators left because Paramount lured them back with an offer of their own studio within Nickelodeon studios. Now we're getting 3 animated Avatar films mostly likely with the original casts. This Netflix thing might be great but nothing will beat having the OGs back with new stories.
That’s actually not true and the creators are a couple of hacks. They were essentially dismissed (“left because of creative differences”) from this live action show and that’s a good thing.
Me going through peoples reactions at work and acting like I haven't already seen the trailer lol. Also he definitely said Katara...the Ka was just soft.
I am certain they are going to be putting some of the flashbacks from "Zuko Alone" in the first season. For flashbacks to be believable, the characters need to look younger. Waiting for season 2 would not make any sense when the actors are at an age that one or two years is very noticeable. Pre-filming would be ideal, but unlikely.
The ATLA live actionseries looks great. The visuals are amazing & the designs of costumes, bending, environment etc are really accurate to the original animated series. I am excited & looking forward to this! 🙌
Sokka saying Tara was just and edit for the trailer you can hear the pitch in his voice right in the process of saying Katara and the Rhythmic stress of her name is mostly stressed on kaTAra
So far it at least looks better than M Night's The Last airbender live action, so I'm willing to give it a shot at least. I just hope netflix doesn't ruin it like I feel they ruined the Series of Unfortunate Events. I loved those books and I feel the show was too gimmicky and trying too hard to be fun and quirky. I love the Avatar the Last Airbender cartoon and I can only hope that Netflix gives us that similar magic that made the original so spectacular.
This show is full of so beautiful scenes and fights and moments. I HOPE they will get to make Hama's story as well. It was my fav episode of the animation series. Hopefully they will mention the relationship between her and Gran-gran. (as they mentioned in the movie and as we could see in the animation when she was getting captured)
Bro Hama doesn't show up till book 3. Don't expect her to show up this season. Just like how toph is coming till season 2, Hama is no show till season 3
IM SOOOO EXCITED AND ALSO SOOO DAMN NERVOUS AT THE SAME TIME but so far the best looks very promising like the actress for june she's freaking hot lol like literally they put the real life june from the show into the real world and the animals so far like June's uh I forget the name but they look FREAKING good like Netflix keep the team behind this cgi and as a bonus they said Last airbenders name right

I’m not feeling much hype towards this, but that’s mostly because I've only recently watched the original last Autumn. I’m not calling it a terrible show, because it was definitely a banger I wish I when it aired, but it’s more so that it feels like the same as what I already saw in animation. That’s just subjective from me though, plus the show isn’t out yet so what do I know?
I hope that either the trailers aren't mixing the voices right or as it goes on the actors get more into it since.. all we've pretty much seen is Book 1 stuff.. so.. there's room for improvement
OMG THIS LOOKS GOOD!
Agreed
The Blue Spirit! Everything looks good! My only nitpick is why Azula is doing archery. Maybe it will make sense next month.

This has great potential and imma wait till i watched all 8 episodes till i render a judgement
This is how you bend the elements…so GOOD!
This was a fantastic trailer it really felt like I was watching the cartoon again
I felt that, they really captured some of those moments imo.
Sokka definitely is saying Katara, he just says the Ka part quickly and puts more emphasis on the T. He does say Katara, though.
It sounded like Tara, I’ll have to go back and listen
Interestingly the captions on the trailer says "Katara" at that point, but for the video (also by Netflix) of the cast reacting to the trailer, the captions say " 'Tara"
@@Disney15ishTo be fair, those subtitles also say that is Iroh narrating at the beginning, when it's supposed to be Gyatso lol
One major takeaway from this trailer is the bending looks INCREDIBLE!
It sure does!
Oh my god. What an incredible trailer, man!! I’m so excited for the live-action!!

and yet the og creators hated the way they ended their own stories ending 🥴
If you think Mike and Bryan are the geniuses of the original series, then you are so unaware that it hurts.

I wish we had a clip of Aang looking up in horror and we just hear the words “I am the melon lord!!!”
that was in the 3rd book, this first season maybe just around book one. but hopefully we got it in the later season
At least they’re acting like people and not doing a dance number to bend the elements like in that god awful 2010 movie
Yeah much more than the effects it's really the fighting choreagraphy that counts for this world and the fights look really dynamic !
The ATLA live actionseries looks great. The visuals are amazing & the designs of costumes, bending, environment etc are really accurate to the original animated series. I am excited & looking forward to this! 🙌
I hope this is good!
Gordon Cormier sounds exactly like the voice actor of Aang, not only that, they pronounced his name correctly this time!!!!
The trailer was great! Also, i noticed your face looked very red in this video.
HYPE!!!!
So they took the Teo and the Mechanic stuff from the Northern Air Temple and moved it all to Omashu. I figured they would do that.
Better than M night shyamalan 2010 movie version
That wasn’t going to be hard to do lol
What Shymalan movie? There is no movie in Ba Sing Se
You should watch the One Piece Live Action... it is phenomenal
From the trailer this looks good, but I’m not necessarily gonna count on actually being good, but we will see

Tara is not a thing from the cartoons.
Azula was only shown in the last episode of season 1.
She was shown in the Agni Kai flasback also.
But where's the cabbage man?
You don’t spoil him in the trailer!
Of course, this had to be amazing and it was because the movie they made was trash. It got so much hate this. Had to have so much work to be awesome
