Jake talking to Jimmy's mom is my favorite piece of Jomboy Media content ever.
Jake's face during the Bill Cosby commercial was the funniest thing. He truly spoke a thousand words while saying nothing.
Looking like he was remembering some shit
Watching two baseball guys talk gum and not mention Big League Chew is just weird
We need Jimmy's mom on an episode of Watchin
As a parent, I started laughing out loud on the diaper ignorance. (Of course only parents would know)
Kids pee multiple times at night. You don’t wake your kid up to change them. But sometimes they pee though them.
Nighttime diapers have extra absorption for this reason. The question they should have asked mom was if kids peed multiple times at night and if kids ever peed through diapers.
Lecture provided by
Dad (honorary PhD in children’s urinary habits)
I hope Jimmy rewatches this one once his kid starts sleeping through the night.
I am a yr late but basically said the same thing lmao.
I love Jimmy's mom's tone with Jake. She's clearly had some problems with him in the past, but there's still love there.
new viewer here whats the history with those two like what issues?
@@jack.w7144 - lol bro, I have no idea. I don't actually know these guys. Just going off her tone when she talked to him. There's love there, but he's definitely done some shit that's frustrated her. Just my perception bro. Can't confirm anything.
@@jack.w7144 they've known each other since high school
@@jack.w7144 I don't think there's any incidents in the official Jomboy TV canon. The OP seemed to be suggesting lighthearted "kids being kids" stuff rather than "Jake got caught dealing meth outta her living room"
"it's Jake, ah-"
"I know." - Jimmys Mom
I see ya’ll have discovered everyone’s favorite Louisiana 1980s food personality Justin Wilson and his classic catchphrase “I guar-un-tee!”
Justin Wilson certainly had a career arc: From advertising Cajun chips to being a lefty reliever on the Yankees. Fascinating.
Remember his serving spoon of hot sauce in everything? Hahaha. My mom loved Justin Wilson. He was the Emeril of his time. These 80's commercials are really bringing me back.
Also, the kid was floating in front of a warship. His dad was clearly on deployment and the commercial agency was doing the classic "appeal to patriotism" hook.
I love the "Jake, what do you want from me, It's been a while since I had kids" from mom on phone and Jakes face... She shut him down and left him helpless in open waters and Jake knows it lol. Moms can cut through BS of kids and kid's friends so quick lol.
Roxanne was a modern telling of Cyrano de Bergerac with a little change to the ending to make it happier. I found the one with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner to be a good serious version of the play.
Justin Wilson was a national treasure. A lazy Saturday afternoon watching him and Bob Ross couldn't be beat.
Roxanne was very critically acclaimed.
It’s a classic!
Made good money at the box office, and a cable TV classic. It's a modern version of Cyrano de Bergerac. I'm sure it doesn't hold up but at the time, it's a film everyone knew about.
The baby double peed because it was overnight, not that they are bad parents lol
Yeah it's not the "lazy parent" card, it's "modern 80s household with 2 parents who work demanding jobs and need to get ready quickly in the morning before handing the baby off to grandma and do not have time to change the sheets in the crib because the diaper leaked."
Yeah jomboy or Jake aren't parents haha. There's times when the baby sleeps through the night and pees twice, and the parents were lucky enough to sleep through in turn. That's why a product like this is useful. Nothing bad parent about it. 😂
9:16 Steve Martin’s Roxanne is actually woefully under appreciated today. It’s a bright, funny and very smart script written by Steve Martin and while the ad without any dialogue makes the film seem ridiculous, it’s one of the best films of that era. It was very popular and well received by critics at the time but it gets forgotten among all of Steve Martin’s great films.
The Cajun guy in the Ruffles commercial was TV chef Justin Wilson. You should review one of his old cooking shows the recipes, preparation, and set are all extremely 70s/80s. And he’s pretty funny, in an “old guy is funny” way
The kid says "hey out there dad, I love you"
"I took some pictures. Remember?"
Umm, no Bill, they don't remember....
Admittedly the whole last commercial is a confusing ADD nightmare, but we really shouldn't ignore the fact that at 21:10 that boy just slapped an innocent cow in the face.
Those sleepy commercials make sense in the 80s. Back then they assumed they had the audiences attention, it was pre internet, pre distractions of phones etc. Plus not everyone had a remote control to flip channels either.
Today commercials try to grab your attention, back then some assumed they had it already. Makes sense when you think about the time period.
Great observation. Back in the day everyone had to watch commercials while watching tv unless they wanted to stare at the wall or something until your show came back on. Nowadays companies know that commercial time means check the phone time so they need to put more work in lol
Roxanne is a very underrated 80s movie; also, Joe Stephenson was a scout for the Red Sox for like half a century
Biggest supporter of 90s. Music is unstoppable and sports took off. Espn was real.
Roxanne is a literal classic. Arguably Martin’s most respected movie.
I'll argue about that.
@@alekshewitt siskel and ebert gave it 2 thumbs up. :)
Planes Trains Automobiles....The Jerk....Dirty Ritten Scoundrels....
Most respected movie?
Uh no lol
I’m here after watching Facebook baseball breakdowns. Funny stuff
THIS IS LEGIT MY FAVORITE CONTENT
While I understand Jimmy and Jake's point about the gum shape varieties, you gotta remember Trident was always around, and they always came in those little rectangle pieces long before the others hopped on board
Was caught in a stoned rabbit hole of your stuff.. killed it when you started talking to Zack and do you have 1,000 or 1 million other channels it's a really easy to keep track
The Ol' Red Hot Wrapper to the Forehead 😂🤣😂🤣
Keep at it boys, love watching you guys analyze these old shows! Would like to see more bad dating shows like Take Me Out 👌🏻
7:35 *jomboy dancing by bobbing head*
7:59 "no i dont do it"
I keep waiting for a show to come back. Longest commercial break ever
The kid didn't say "I miss you, dad" he said, "I love you, dad"
You can't talk about 90s gum without mentioning bazooka joe
Double mint, juicy fruit AND big red were in my moms purse growing up, what a wave of nostalgia aha
I just remember those Double Mint commercials being everywhere... I was a pretty young kid, but those commercials stuck in my brain.
Frigging jomboy and Jake with another great stoner video, you fellas literally are doing what I do by myself or with my buddies, except much more production haha,
May I suggest some legends of the hidden temple watch through, or even wild and crazy kids,
They've done a couple legends of the hidden temple, def worth looking through their old vids!
Oh I've seen them, just saying we need more lol ,can never have enough Kurt fog and olmeg
If they showed commercials like this now a days I’d actually watch TV
X - Doubt
the movie Roxanne was on heavy rotation on HBO in the 90s. ive seen it 30 times but not really.
19:51 Justin Wilson used to have a cooking show where he'd teach you Cajun cooking. He was on PBS because we didn't have the Food Network yet. He's like Guy Fieri.
“Roxanne” is great. It is an adaptation of ”Cyrano de Bergerac”
Again with the Asheville Tourists hat, word!
HAHAHAHA I lost it when Jimmy was vouching for a product by lining up that one time he seen Aaron Judge lol
That milk commercial was the most 80s thing I’ve ever seen lol. MILK!
If anyone was curious what those Twins/Yankees and Dodgers/Cardinals scores were (Date was July 6, 1987):
New York Yankees - 12
Minnesota Twins - 7
Los Angeles Dodgers - 4
St. Louis Cardinals - 5
Her eyes look like a poweful bird 14:11
😂😂😂
I hope Jimmy watches his reaction to nighttime diapers now that he had a kid.
I want to know if he wakes his baby up at night to change the diaper. 😂
The diaper talk was too entertaining, and that burger king commercial had those"You can call me Al" musical notes
You know the fucked up Mr Toad ride in Disneyland where you wind up in hell? That's Wind in the Willows
I demand a Jimmy's mom segment each week.
In the 80s, gum was sticks, chiclets, bubble yum/licious, big league gum, and gum cigarettes.
Wrigley Spearmint, Chicklets, FruitStripe, Bubble Yum....my youth.
chiclets gum was introduced in 1900 and was always in that squarish shape not to mention bubblicious
Roxanne is an amazing movie! Based off the play Cyrano de Bergerac. It's one of my favorite Steve Martin movies.
You gotta come outta pocket on this one folks lol
80s commercials, first two that just came to mind are Bartles and James and Isuzu
Babies pee more than once over night and this is what they were trying to depict here
Bazooka Joe bubble gum was a fan favorite
I ate a lot of the keebler elf cookies in the 90s
Good parents teach their babies to use a litter box. No leaky diapers that way.
Really Jimmy never heard of Keebler cookies? We used to call this kid Keebler because he looked like the elf lol
We also used to call a kid "Keebler" then later on we changed it because of a "slide" we saw in science/biology class and called him "Enzyme". Wish i could go back and apologize, we sure could be cruel.
The guys dad was clearly in the service.
Crest: The "debate me" of toothpaste!
Was that Johnny Lawrence on the docks of the 7Up commercial?
“Less sugar than what?” While it says on the screen, “than other leading nations brands”
I thought that Hallmark Card commercial was going to be for AA or not to drink so much.
Holy shit the sad kid on the boat by himself has me crying 😂
Crest did their own test against other brands and let’s just say it didn’t turn out well.
E.l. fudge are still around and amazing lol
The I miss you dad kid probably edited the commercial. Its a cry for help you monsters. ;)
I wonder if that catchphrase "you're gonna thank me for it" was taken too seriously by Cosby
Waiiiiit.... was this where they came up with the idea for the decade draft?
I always thought it was Winterfresh, juicyfruit, and big red
Wind in the willows was a Disney show i think.
If you think you getting two pee's out if a luvs diaper ..you are sadly mistaken ..
Still waiting for that Roxanne watch-through
I say 90s but that's only because I was a teenager in the 90s so remember it fondly. I'm 38 now.
Crest; winners by default!
1st. Watch 80's press your luck
No whammys
Big bucks
and...STOP!
"A Flokati rug!"
West side of Cincinnati??? Delhi???
There is NO WAY anyone is changing a diaper after 1 piss...THERE IS NO WAY
y'all gotta watch fetch! with ruff ruffman
It was just sticks until Bubaliscious or whatever came in with the cubes in a pack individually wrapped. Hubba bubba
“I took some pictures, remember?”
Oof.
How high are you in this video Jomboy? lmfao
15:02
Can we draft gums?
I'm the best golfer in the world. Ive never played before, but no one has beat me yet!
Time to draft the decades
21:41...Alyssa Milano.....my first crush!!!!
ruffles the clear winner
in 2024 this is fun
I seen round bubble gums
As a father of 2 boys who pee like horses. No, it's not lazy parenting, you need a good overnight diaper because WE ALL WANT TO SLEEP and regular diapers don't cut it for sleep time. lol
i watched roxanne when i was younger and it gave me nightmares
Not for lazy parents bud...this is overnight. Like when u are sleeping. After you are up all night for a few weeks.. you just start sleeping eventually and so does baby sometimes. Thats when you start getting up at 2am or 3am at best just once a night everynight.
Hubba Bubba wasn't a stick.
21:40 Alyssa Milano.
Linda Hamilton @ 18:40?
The boys are so out of their mind high lmfao
That was exactly my thought after the second commercial lol...boys had some edibles for sure
The fortune lottery jingle sounded eerily similar to the pokemon jingle of all the pokemon. ua-cam.com/video/xMk8wuw7nek/v-deo.html
Someone with that much white hair should know Roxanne.
