Regarding the Almond Joy situation. Jake said “I don’t know [that saying] was Almond Joys [saying]. Then I asked if he heard it before and he said “yeah, but maybes I’ve heard it because of almond joy”
Don’t gaslight us, Jim...
It seemed very clear to me. I don't quite understand what's going on in the comments.
You should address the Kool aid situation
Yeah, we heard him. You still don't seem to understand anything.
"We had some powdered house in the milk growing up"
you can see his brain buffering afterwards, amazing
Yea glad you caught that.
That one got by me lolllll
A clear Almond Joy commercial
Jake: I feel like they're ripping off Almond Joy
When does that happen?
@@BobbySacamano The first commercial.
@@alvinpietzsch1534 I'm saying I didn't hear Jake say anyone was ripping off Almond Joy. I know he didn't realize that was their slogan. Idk, whatever. It was just hyperbole I suppose
@@BobbySacamano I think Jake just got confused.
"You take this water then you add this Chicken noodle soup to it and then look, you've got double the amount of chicken noodle soup." Jomboy explaining Campbells soup
Yea it’s hilarious. I don’t know how old these guys are but I’m 37 and recognize all these things. The kool aid one had me scratching my head as to why they didn’t get it. I guess they assumed kool aid always came in the plastic can that had sugar already in it.
11:22 "We had some powdered house in the milk growing up" - Jake 2021
Yum mold and asbestos flavor.
Jomboy doesn't know about koolaid? Dafuq? You can't drink unsweetened koolaid unless you like drinks that taste fucking awful.
Kool aid has always been like that as previously mentioned. Actress also mentioned sugar was high at that point. It would also cost them more to ship it, with the kool aid. It would need a larger package to fit all the sugar. They were just cutting cost on there end. Everyone has sugar at home to add. Some great cameos in the ads. Great episode
The Almond joy confusion is getting me to actually worry about Jake’s brain. Is there a carbon monoxide leak on his side or something?
Edit: Apparently Kool aid preparation is a little out of Jim’s league, so probably just put up a detector in there.
When was there "confusion" on Jake's part? He said he didn't realize it was Almond Joy's jingle. I am more confused by Jimmy never having heard it before at all.
11:35 Jim comes up with condensed soup
Can't believe they don't know about Kool-Aid.
Yeah that's just regular Kool-Aid. I think the "unsweetened" threw him off.
Unsweetened Kool-aid kinda fell off in the 90s. Makes sense. The sweetened canisters became more popular
@@mzxeternal It's like Friday, just need a cup of sugar.
The Kool-Aid confusion is so funny! Yes, it was flavored powder without sugar. Add 1 cup of sugar (or more if your mom wasn't watching).
Vicki Lawrence. Cmon jomboy Kool aid packets have always needed sugar added!
"8 is Enough had 5 seasons"
Sounds like 5 was enough
Rock, flag and eagle. Ocular pat-down. Jomboy loves him some IASIP. Legend.
Milk: just add milk
"I don't wear nightgowns anymore Daddy." Excuse me, WHAT!?!
I'm younger than jomboy and unsweetened kool aid isn't crazy. We use to get the packets and add sure. They've never have sweeten kool aid packets
My dad would buy the packets with sugar in them for ease of use at work(construction). They were about the size of a bag of sunflower seeds.
"we had some powdered house in the milk growing up" I fucking lost it 😂
The checkers burn. The milk bill. The sugar knob. This had it all!
11:22 Glasses Jake needs to stick around, dude I’m loling so hard. The hand motion afterward is perfect, so many subtle moments just crack me up. Great ep dudes #Tickle
Only time I like watching commercials:
Super Bowl and Jomboy.
Also note that the KoolAid the mother got as a child was inexpensive, a trait the 70s version apparently lost :D
11:21 "we had some powdered HOUSE in the MILK"
Sometimes I wonder if jake is just far too stoned to not flub sentences
Theyre really hurting my brain with this one. From the almond joy thing, to the milk, then the koolaid.
Ad showing all the features of a Singer sewing machine.
Jomboy: I don't know what that commercial was for.
“Milk Bill”
Fantastic. Please do tons of these commercial reviews.
Before I look down, I'm just going to assume most of the comments are about not understanding how Kool-Aid works.
And the almond joy and the powdered milk and the singer sewing machine.
Yaaaaaaaa!!!
Thank you uncle Eddie for bringing us this great content
this man was 1st
I remember seeing some of these in the 80s. Even that cake mix ad that looks ancient. They used to run ads for a long time. I think the Mikey ad went away and made a comeback in the 90s.
To add to the Kool-aid conversation.... we would make Kool-aid ice pops but mix it with half the sugar.... 😉
Jomboy not knowing what powdered milk was is disheartening. 😆
Tugged your pudd. Lmfao I miss the 90s
I had some powdered house in the milk growing up too, Jake.
You guys are over thinking the koolaid.. all of it was un sweetened! That’s why you always have to add sugar!! LMFAO 🤣
Knowing who Sandy Duncan is is probably the closest I’ll get to Theatre cred. I really only know her because of Brutal Moose finding an old tape of her in a weird made for tv version of Pinocchio
Vickie Lawrence (Mama's Family & Carol Burnett Show) endorsing Carnation...
George Dzundza from the first season of the original Law & Order in the Singer commercial...
The reason for the milk dilution/doubling, was because milk and dairy prices had risen in the 70's, so people were trying to stretch what they could.
11:21 literally made me lol
Carnation Milk lady was Thelma Harper from Mama's Family.
I thought she looked familiar.
Vicki Lawrence
Unsweetened Kool-aid was cheap as sin even in the 80s. Remember my mom getting them for like 10 for a dollar in the 80s. 5 gallons of the stuff for a buck. Just add sugar, and back then a 5 lb bag was probably like a buck, 1.50 on sale.
The sweetened stuff cost much more for less.
My mom and her damned yellow cake Pillsbury. It's still a plague today.
I've heard the "sometimes you feel like a nut" song enough times that I'm sure it would just come up randomly or pop in my head. However, I totally didn't remember it was for Almond Joy/Mounds. Now I can't think of what I thought it was for. Planters? It's like one of those Mandela Effect things.
I agree with Jake, that eagle was bad ass
The guy on the left isn't that bright huh? 😂😂
Holy crap that was Vickie Lawrence in the Carnation commercial
10:24 ...and Todd Bridges! And then Vicki Lawrence pushing powdered milk! Celebrities Abound!
My grandmother used to make unsweetened Kool-Aid and added sugar because back then it cost about 1/3 the amount of the sweetened Kool-aid.
As someone from Wisconsin I’ve never heard of someone growing up in a powdered milk house
I think powered milk was more about not having refrigerator trucks regularly every part of the country? And having milk that doesn't go bad?
Never heard of it being about cost. Maybe they were trying a new angle, but it doesn't really work.
@@Rob-vy6zx that’s probably true
Today, there's little (if any) cost savings, but back then there was a bit of savings. This is them saying, "it'll taste close to real milk"
We had some powdered house in the milk growing up.
I want some powdered house now. I knew alot of ppl that use to use powered milk for cooking, don't see it as much in the stores now.
I guess this is what happens when you only pay attention to baseball your entire life. This is just painful to watch them struggle through
Jake already knew where joms mind was going when the second tickle commercial come on lol
I too had powdered house in the milk growing up
So the rest of us were watching an almond joy commercial... what was Jake watching?
The Kool-Aid ad may have been trying to get convince people to drink kool-aid as a less expensive alternative to soda, based on the "Kool-Aid Brand Soft Drink Mix" at the end
1:01 anyone else notice the perfect form on that tackle? You can't coach that.
My mom works at the company that made tickle LOL
Go Devils!
@marmar Blt idk
@marmar Blt what I have learned in life is that if it can go into something it probably has
@@conoiyer3651 it is deodorant
@@busterposey9683 and a hitachi wand is meant to massage your back
I feel like jomboy wasn't alive during the time of these commercials cause jomboy you ask jake a question every commercial lol
Originally Kool Aid came as just the ("flavour" and colour) powder. You always provided the sugar. Years later they sold you the sugar mixed with "flavour". But at first it was a way to keep the price down (weight and cost of sugar for the company...) Now it's "convenient"...
kinda digging the pilot headset look
We had some powdered house in the milk growing up... 🤔
15:39 a tasteful chew-talk
sad bc nothing compares to baggage
I miss mailing in proofs of purchase for free stuff
Really?
@@Rob-vy6zx cereal and toy companies used to have promotions to get special edition items of you sent in proof of purchases. It was good gimmick
@@fatangel314 just seemed like a hassle to get a coupon for dog food.
Okay, why would an eagle be the face of a tire company?
How have yous not seen the life cereal ad??
in between my 2 soccer games today and i turn off sound to miss commercial's ....i then spend 15 min watching yall... life is funny
Regular Kool aid is just the little packets. You add sugar and water. Odd he doesn't know that
I wish I grew up wealthy not knowing what powdered milk or Kool-Aid was.
They are throwing around the word moist like it is their job.
Sometimes it seems Jake isn't paying attention at all. I think he needs a Snickers.
How do they not know how koolaid works? You buy the flavor and sweeten with sugar
And when Jomboy mentions McDonald's milkshakes. Is he saying he thinks those are exactly the same now as they were also? Along with the food? Because I've always heard back in the days they used real ice cream and now they use powder. The Founder with Michael Keaton goes into that subject
I'm going to guess the people at Tickle marketing heard about some ladies who were using their deodorant as a sex toy. Before online shopping was invented, it was tough to obtain a real sex toy. You had to get creative with household items.
The marketers leaned in. You can't say "Hey it happens to be good for masturbating!" So they made an ad that implies it without saying it. The women buying it for pleasure feel validated, like this is an acceptable thing to do, the company that makes it is even in on the joke.
Kool aid was sold un sweetened and they had pre mixed with sugar. Un sweetened was cheaper
I mean, when Big Sugar has already engineered their distribution system to sell 5 pound bags for 19 cents, why would you go ahead and add it to your flavor packets? You can ship out your little 3 ounce packets and sell them for 12 cents and everyone's happy that they get sugar water.
I can't believe you stepped on the big line of the Life cereal commercial "He won't neat it, he hates everything."
It was almond joy. What's he talking about? Lol
That is how you make koolaide man.
Filet o fish back then would've tasted better because it was fried in beef tallow instead of veggie oil.
Anyone else notice Jake said he had some powdered house in his milk?
I see Jimmy's future in checkers guy. Except it'll be dogs and baseball.
NeS cUfFAy !! What a strange pronunciation
Powdered house in the milk
I don’t wear a nightgown anymore daddy…
Yikes
That deodorant ad is full of innuendo. She's laughing at the idea of being pleased with the idea of big balls... Basically it's a flirty "they can try" laugh.
Same with being "dry" when ya know "wet" has been slang for a long time... Way before WAP was a thing.
I'm sorry, washing your shoes in a washing machine? I've never heard of that before.
Edit: Nowadays, you pay 3x the world price for sugar in the U.S. thanks to quotas. Cheaper to just buy it already sweetened.
Very common to wash basic canvas type sneakers in the 70s. Of course not the leather ones.
yeah I think 100 people out of 100 people would realize the tickle commercial was trying to simulate how people react to being tickled. "It's some girl secret thing we don't know about".......um, are you 11?
NEScaFAY??
Milk Bill.
1:00
Very odd decision by the commercial here, like first off that couple is definitely about to get a nut,
1:07
As you can tell here she said show me what you would like me to do

🎵🎶🎵🎶CAUSE🎵🎶🎵🎶 1:08
I think u have to be stoned to watch this lol
Jack Palance dressed as a samurai or Mongol or whatever that was blew my mind.
Kool-Aid use to not come with sugar in the packet. You had to add it... and then you'd go to someone's house and it was like 50% sugar and was syrupy as hell. Thank god they started selling it already added with the recommended amount of sugar to make it foolproof.
It's called Tickle because the extra big roller ball made it tickle when you applied it. They were the first to use an extra large ball. And of course the sexual innuendo, because it was the 70s, when all the mainstream sexually oppressed values of the 50s and 60s were being challenged in movies etc.
Jimmy tries not to understand.
Jomboy doesn't understand anything.
Typical "Lil verified"
