Before Booker came to Columbia, I shudder to think how many people may have met the same fate as the Interracial couple. I doubt they were the first victims.
I was contemplating for too long and was caught before throwing the ball. I loved that they included that option as well. Very few games make the inability to decide a third choice.
They don't necessarily sacrifice a virgin in the world of "The Lottery." In fact, the victim in that story was a married mother of several children, so definitely not a virgin.
Had this song stuck in my head for a solid week and couldn't figure out where I heard it from or what it was called. Glad I finally found it haha. Maybe my subconscious is telling me it's time for my second play-through of Infinite.
Coming up the stairs and hearing this growing louder as I got closer, walking through Columbia, set the environment of this game perfectly this early in the game.
I absolutely love the way this track builds the atmosphere up so much before the raffle pulls the rug out from under you. You can tell in little moments and bits of dialogue that folks aint right in Columbia but until the raffle its pretty happy and lighthearted. Personally I tried to see as much of the city as I could so the bits and bobs of prejudice were there but my stomach still dropped a bit when the curtains parted. The fact that the prize for the raffle is only the “first throw” scared me a little. It wouldn’t just be the winner who hurt them. It was every single person in the audience. It’s chilling, and it made me think not only about who the people of Columbia are, but how Columbia was built. The city wasn’t established overnight, and Booker isn’t just getting there at the opening of it. There were ten other raffles before he came and tore it down. How many people’s blood were spilt so that the city could live? It isn’t a perfect game, but fuck, do I ever love Bioshock Infinite.

Quit staying out late at night
Go home to your wife and your family
And sit down by the fireside bright
spoiler alert for booker
This game ain't nothing like the other two bioshock games, which is unfortunate, but by God does Infinite have one hell of an intro! I even got Infinite in 2013 and til this day, this intro makes me wanna sing and dance along 🥰
"I've got something for you, you son of a bitch!"
BOOKER CATCH!
The story of this game is very polarising. I thought it was alright but god damn the atmosphere was just 10/10 flawless
Three words: Leadbelly
For some reason this song makes me sad but I still like it
Are you gonna throw? Or are you taking your coffee black? AaHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
I'll throw, i always do.
Anyone else have the glitch where even after the whole event you still here this song being song behind the the curtain
The shits gonna hit the fan quick...
It’s so ironic what happens after.. because this song is sung by a black man lol
ugh I wish there was an easier way to dl this song, I would even pay a buck on itunes
I liked how they could use modern music sometimes. Cause they could really justify it with the time travel
Yeah, but this is an old folk already known by 1913, when Infinte takes place
1912.
I need a 10 hour version
Too bad that those bastards stopped me before I launched the ball
+Svarto22 I hope you were targeting Fink...
+Philipp Jannsen No one will ever know lulz
I'm not going to lie when I say I loved hearing this. Granted, the Raffle was pretty messed up and Fink's an asshole but just hearing this was beyond beautiful.
Perfect description
felt so happy when this came on playing this game UTG LEAGUE 1 HERE WE COME
My aunt's name is Irene, and I sing this song sometimes just to annoy her
Top 10 Songs Played Before Disaster
Can’t believe that this 1950’s song it’s in the game
Silent before the storm
The man singing in the beginning reminds me of Josiah Trelawny from RDR2
yeah thats what I always think of when I see him
I like how the raffle was the turning point where the story begins to get darker. When the racism in Columbia gets revealed.
The crowd preparing to execute an interracial couple.
Also the fanatacism when Booker's 'A.D.' brand is discovered.
It’s funny they were so racist but singing a song popularized by a black singer (leadbelly)
The Weavers' version is probably the best.
All I can think about when I hear this is: You don't take your coffee back these days, do you?!
Hallelujah.
Whos replaying the whole trilogy in this fckd up year 2020? 😁🤚
I was playing other games
