I bought In Rock in Memphis out of the New Release Section. All I had ever heard by Purple was Hush and Kentucky Woman. I love the Album Cover. When I put the Album on my GE Wildcat Stereo and Speed King came blaring out of speakers and I was blown away and so were my Parents. Ha Ha! I was 9 years old. So In Rock Changed my life and my parents life. Pop was a Opera Singer and he said the the singer a strong voice He like the singing part of Child In Time. He said not my thing but the singer is gifted.
The great and very much missed Jon Lord. 🙏🏻
wish Ritchie and Jon did more tunes like Wring that Neck; playing off each other's immense talents, skills, and creativity.
cheers!
Agreed. I love some of the stuff from DP Mk I.
Ian Paice had a unique style of holding the sticks in his left hand. Almost delicate, belying the powerhouse delivery

Your pop knew what he was talking about. Imagine if Gillan had opera training
J'avais 12 ans et a la première écoute, je me suis demandé : c est quoi cette musique ! Et 50 ans plus tard je suis toujours dans la marmite hard....
😅 I love this story!…I was 80’s kid, loved the Rainbow albums but later listened to purple and realized where it all started, Magic! 👏🏻💙🎶🎸
@@yvesandre3591Keep it Rocking. I am the same way. Still love Deep Purple.
@@mkilnerIn Rock contained elements of the future. Certainly with Black Sabbaths First the Cornerstones of Hard Rock. Still exciting to listen to.

Man we got surround so wheres the quad?
The lyrics are basically "Paint it Black" revisited.
Interesting… how so? The used to cover Paint It Black.
What's the source of this interview/video? It's a DVD?
There is a long form version of this interview.
From my fading memory, it 6:36 goes on for about 45 minutes.
1:50 - Yeah, ok Jon. That silly little riff is the same as the Blues Magoos "We Ain't Got Nothing Yet" from 1966.
Ian's drumming here.
Phenomenal drumming.
Sounds like something Sweet would of put out... the whole sound structure, and lyric cadence.... hmmmm
Ritchie need JESUS CHRIST CAUSE HIS TIME REN OUT OF TIME TIME TO CHOOSE JESUS CHRIST FOR YOURE ETERNITY
Certainly not scotch and coke is your poison
Why didn't you start learning how to play the cello that you owe? To me playing the guitar for almost 60 just got boring by the time...
Nice, clean little single from the boys. I prefer the live version where it's controlled chaos. A mean, down and dirty performance.
