Visit Kamnik and continue to Velika Planina...on a sunny day in the spring or summer time. To eat in Ljubljana on a sunny day you could try old Gostilna Rožnik, situated on top of the hill Rožnik in the middle of Ljubljana. You can find delicious Slo dishes in Gostilna Striček. I recommend Telečja obara z ajdovimi žganci (stew) and my favourite pražena jetrca (liver) in pražen krompir.....very very nice 😊
Woahhhhhh Roasted Liver?! I have never had this before. I will definitely give this a try. This is such a thoughtful and detailed list. I will definitely add all of this to my growing list haha. I’m going to do a recommended food video in the near future, and this will definitely be in that video. Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestion. Cheers for tuning in and giving such a nice comment!!!!
Come to Celje ( my city ) is the third largest city in Slovenia ( around 50.000 inhabitants ) and historically very important city. It was all ready very important town in Roman period ( Celeia ) and after in 15.century it was capital of Dukes of Celje..a very powerful medieval family who rules over a large parts of today Slovenia, Croatia and Austria. The old castle overlooking the city is a main atracttion. Celje is just in the half way between Ljubljana and Maribor. You passed there with the train.
Lots of times Your videos shows trying Slovenian food. One of these days You wil try vampe. Vampi is one of Slovenian traditional dishes made out of cows stomach. Bon appetit :)
@@LifewithAaronArnold Oh, old story :) Ljubljana residents (including most of my relatives) think that only Ljubljana exists, and the rest of the country is "not interesting at all". This mentality has not changed with the new generations. While the rest of the country has developed and in many places exceeded expectations, the view from the capital is still the same. It is difficult to explain that the distance from Ljubljana to Maribor is the same as the distance from Maribor to Ljubljana :) Funny, but it has always been that way, it still is and I believe it will be in the future. Many Ljubljana residents have not explored Slovenia because they find it uninteresting and everything so far away. :)
Hey, from a citizen of Ljubljana, Maribor and Ljubljana kinda dont like eachother because of the differences in sports teams. Just so you know :) Cheers!
Maribor used to have around 150.000 people (in the 90s) but slowly decreased in population. Goverment dont invest much in the city. City could be much better and greater if they would. I speak that as aresident of Ljubljana. Lots need to be done there.
daily migration is still vivid. Yes, many people work in Austria or in Ljubljana, but not many moved. Usualy one person in a family works outside, using joined car daily transport to work and back, but family is intact, home is still a home and children go to local school.
I think belo kuhano vino (white whine) is better, and more people drink it, so maybe try that aswell. Also if you wana travel around like you did here, you could Visit Zagreb. The ticket from Ljubljana is 18 for both ways.
Oh wow! I will definitely visit then. I went to Zagreb last year for a few days. Is there anything you recommend I see or visit when I return? Also, I have tried the belo kuhano vino, and the one I tried I liked the rdeče better. However, I'll give it another try. Cheers!!!
