Dear Martyn; This was such a fabulous video; your happiness just radiates from you during this fantastic TOFT experience. Your love of TOFT and the team is evident every time you speak of or visit them!! Happy Crafting ~ Lori
I'm surprised you didn't "damage the inventory" when you saw those patches!!! 🤣😂🤣😂 LOVED watching the process of making the baskets. I'm really not an amigurumi person, but the doll is adorable. 😊 That garden is magnificent, I could live there..... Well, as long as there's no mosquitoes. 😉
Well Martyn that was a treat. I loved it all. Watching you crochet your leaf made me smile - imagine being expected to crochet at work! Throughout the preparations and the workshop itself there was a tangible sense of calm and enjoyment. Such a wonderful organisation and I am sure they appreciate all that you brought to the day as well Thanks for sharing xx
Oh! Martyn , this is fantastic , Kew Gardens , wonderful, I used to live near there and when the roddenrohns can’t spell it , we’re out it was stunning , and how lucky that you had time with Toft again , brilliant love it and thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Martyn, you looked so happy! What a great video, I'm glad you took us along in your adventure at Toft and Kew gardens. If I ever get back to the UK it would be lovely to get to experience something like that! 💜 from Arizona 🏜️
Martyn cariad I am so jealous your at TOFT HQ. I love all things toft. I am crying my eyes out because I will never go to a craft along. I loved everything you've recorded xxx
Loved this video. What a treat to be part of such a special day. I am very jealous that I live ,so far away to go to one of these events. (Australia) I think you definitely need a special patch as one of Tofts VIP customers. Xx Aussie Jules
Great fun to see behind the scenes, such a treat. I've been to Kew a couple of times in the distant past but so much has changed I'm definitely going to visit again soon especially as I have family who only lives 5 minutes away!! Thanks. Jane
Kew Gardens is one of my most favourite places on Earth, but doing amigurumi in a greenhouse in this weather would be my idea of hell I'm afraid! 🤣Looks like a fantastic day though. If you're into that sort of thing ...
Martyn, thank you. Great video!! I live in NZ, so it's a real treat to see an event like that and in Kew Gardens!!🪴- Thanks for taking us along with you.🧶
What a fab couple of days you had! I love how you throw yourself into things full throttle! I once had a prayer plant, called him Graham after the boyfriend at the time 😅
I loved this video as being a huge fan of Toft, so thank you very much for sharing with us. It looked a fantastic place and a wonderful day. Sian from Wrexham 😊
Saw the photos on Instagram and would have loved to have been there. So delighted and excited to have been able to see your vlog of the event. Thank you so much for sharing.
This was the most beautiful video Martyn. I am in Australia and would love to visit Kew Gardens. Imagine being able to crochet in there. I love to watch your out and about videos… thankyou so much ❤❤❤
That looks like an amazing two days and I am so jealous! The prayer plant looks fab too 😊 I really hope to attend a Kew Gardens and a Natural History event next year 🤞🏻 Also, you should see if Kerry and Sandy are up for a collab and take Dippy to meet Toft
EVERYTHING about that was top notch - classy, elegant and perfect. Are you the only guy on the Toft Team?? I'm thinking that you must be their number one fan. You ALMOST make me want to learn to crochet. But I have enough hobbies I only do now and then. Martyn, it was a great joy to see you having such a wonderful time and it was clear that the fans were almost as thrilled. As Stephen King said in "Misery"; you are their Number One Fan! :D I'm so glad to have found your channel.
Wow! I can't think of a better place to have an event. Spectacular! That walkway up in the tree tops was amazing! The crochet project is adorable. Thank you for taking us along. You are right. There is a lot of effort and work to make something like this.
Excellent video. Interesting to see behind the scenes. I'd make one full leaf, then make all the bits for the other leaves. I like having one to spur me on and see how they are all going to look like. So how many new patches came home or did the Toft staff have you walk through a patch detection machine. 😂 xxJane
you say that this is the first plant you have crocheted, it is -apart from the poincetta, the first toft-plant, but you did crochet the cactae in january. these were nice too.
That was great fun! What a beautiful garden. I think the Toft team love you as much as you clearly love them. The workshop looked fabulous. I love seeing makers getting together to learn and share. We all know that worldwide Fiber Friends are the Best Friends! Thanks for taking me to a new place. I look forward to your Advent project this year. Last year's was fantastic!
What a great video. I too would be a process knitter, just fits my production logistics. I also enjoyed your gift of the Kew Garden tour. Well done and thank you.
Thank you Martyn for taking us along and sharing your Toft internship! What a wonderful location! Such a stunning creation! I am SO jealous! But maybe I should work on my crochet skills a bit…you enabler you! 😉🤣
Great video Martyn! Lovely seeing you again and what a surprise! It’s so nice to be able to watch back on the event as those 2.5hrs whizzed by when you’re catching up with friends new and old and a bit of concentration in between for those leaves. And yes, you have my vote for a new namesake patch!
Thanks for the video. It looked like a lot of fun. I’m allergic to lots of things so I probably would not have risked going there. Regarding how to do the leaves, I agree with you. I would do the leaves in bits. You build up speed and proficiency when repeating the same bits. If you do a whole leaf at a time by the time you get back to the magenta bit you’ve forgotten something you learned on the last magenta bit.
Interesting to see such a well-organised workshop, at such a wonderful location. To answer you: I'm on the other team, I would first finish one leaf totally before starting the next. But in fact I probably would not crochet something like that at all. My knit and crochet products in general are garments and household things (cushion covers, bags, etc.).
Looks like a great few days. I would of loved to have attended but too far and the heat would of been too much in that gorgeous greenhouse. Thank you for taking us along x
It’s not available on general release yet it was a workshop exclusive, the workshop projects tend to go on sale a year after the workshop so attendees have an exclusive project for a period.

Martyn - are you attending any of the other TOFT workshops? I'm off to the Kew one in July
