    You guys definitely progressed in the way you make your Tutorials. In this one it seems like you speak with a more "Videographen" specific language. When in the new ones it's super simple to follow along even for someone that doesn't usually shoot! Good Job Guys!! We wish you much more success!!
    Much LOVE

    Great colors Jordy! That picture on Instagram was great too, especially the heroic looking pose! How is Yannick doing after the punch? On a more serious note, I am using a Nikon D5300, what settings would you recommend in order to shoot in a flat color profile such as that of the GH5?

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому

      +Jorge Rodriguez Thanks Jorge! Well, he listens better to me know. He learned his lesson ;-) On Nikon cameras I found the flat profile to be the best. Set contrast, sharpen and saturation to the minimum.

    • @Jorge_Rodriguez83
      @Jorge_Rodriguez83 7 років тому

      Cinecom.net Yeah, but the D5300 being an entry-level camera from 2014, doesn't come with a predefined flat profile. I guess I'll have to mess around with the settings of a similar profile.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому

      +Jorge Rodriguez oh didn't knew. In that case I'd go for the neutral profile. I also used that for a long time on my Canon 5D II when it came out.

    Hi, great video =)
    I was wondering, for making podcast (e.g: youtube, @ home :p) do you think recording in flat profile then use color grade in post is a good thing to do ?
    Or is it kind of overdoing ?
    Thanks !

    But wait... that looks awesome... However, by doing all that you are definitely pushing out of the color safe region of your vector scope, which would make this video nonbroadcast safe. Or am I mistaken?

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому

      +ruben rodriguez you're probably correct. I did not pay attention to the scopes. This is a grading for the web.

    I have used the Panasonic GH5 for a couple of days. I have tried to color grade the clips that I shot with Cinelike D. It was a little hard and I did not have so many options for color grade, so I was thinking of ordering V-log so I have more options for color grading. There was one who told me that if I use V-log i lose quality on the clips is that right? By the way the camera is awesome! :-D

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      +Vegard Pedersen you need to expose a little more than usual to avoid noise. I always shoot in vlog and add the rec709 lut to it. Gives me a normal looking shot with more dynamic range and color grading possibilities. You can download the project file and use the vlog clip from the tutotial to try some things yourself. (it is compressed though, you can probably find 'raw' clips online too)

    • @vegardpedersen
      @vegardpedersen 7 років тому

      OK, Thanks! I have downloaded some clips from UA-cam that were filmed in v-log and color graded them. Now i shoot in 4k 25p 4:22 10 bit but if i have v-log installed will the files get bigger? I bought a new SD card that had 32 gb and 300 mb / s for the GH5. I can only shoot for a couple of minutes before the card becomes full. I do not know if there is anything wrong with the card.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      +Vegard Pedersen don't think files are bigger. Just flatter (more color information)

  • @BassPlayerAvailable
    @BassPlayerAvailable 7 років тому

    I usually like, enjoy and agree with what you say on your videos but you havnt used any video scopes here which I find slightly alarming.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому

      I understand your concerns, but we would like to make the tutorial accessible to a bigger audience. Introducing scopes would mean we'd have to explain them too, resulting in a very long video. We actually did an entire chapter about the scopes in our Lumetri course. But it's a good note, we might do a video soly on scopes in the future.

    • @BassPlayerAvailable
      @BassPlayerAvailable 7 років тому

      Cool. I just think maybe a Luma Histogram would be a good thing to show so that folks understand that by going to high/too low they will completely lose detail. Keep up the good work and enjoy your holiday.
