While I knew exactly what to do in the HSL section of Lumetri Color, in a much more real sense... I had no idea what to do. haha. This definitely helped, as its a section I almost never adjust. recently, the white balance I've been shooting with my GoPro has turned all shots of my daughters Pink jacket into an orange jacket. Now I'm good to go... Thanks for the help!
To the ones asking about HSL color editing to multiple color selections, here's a method that works for me. Instead of apply HSL edits to your footage directly, create a new adjustment layer by going to file>new>adjustment layer. Make sure your project panel is selected when you do this or else you wont be able to create a new adjustment layer. Drag your adjustment layer from the project panel and on to the timeline, above the clip you'd like to grade. Grade the adjustment layer instead your footage. To grade another color on the same clip, place another adjustment layer on top of the first one and grade that one however you wish. If someone has a better or more organized method, please do share. After all, we are all here to learn :)
Can anyone HELP ! I have to use regular paint as blood, so i need to color correct only this "paint", so do i use a darker or lighter colore? Wich one is easer to color correct? (or do i use a green screen/blue screen colore instead ?)
Welp now I know how I’m going to choose what color to paint my house! Quick vid from the front yard and I can play around with colors. Who knew premiere pro could help with home improvements
Thanks, very well explained. This was always uncharted waters for me, but worked great today when I had to match two cameras, one which totally seemed to misinterpret the colours of a lady's dress.
Thank you so much. I used this method to fix the red-eye problem that I had from using a ring light on the end of the lens for some interviews I was doing. I won't do that again lol. You learn something new every day and by making mistakes you learn how to fix them. Great tutorial thank you
bro this video help me alot :) thanks alot :) i wanted to change the color of my calligraphy ink without buying new expensive ink bottles , now I can easily change the color of ink :)
Great tutorial Thanks, quick question Is it possible to change not one but two or more colors using HSL Secondary? I was not able to do so , only way I found to be able to do it is using individual adjustment layer with HSL secondary filter for each color.
thanks for your tutorials so much. even though you don't get that many views and maybe feedback, your tutorials have been very useful for me as a film student! thanks a lot again and hope you continue making tutorials like that
i used to wonder what in the hell did HSL did in Premiere, bu after seeing this, I finnally see that the LUT/looks library of premiere pro CC is only the tip of the iceberg in this program...thanks man!
Some tutorials show an invert button right next to the black/grey panel, but my program like yours does not, it only has a reset button there. Can you tell me where the invert button is on this version?
Adobe really needs a plus sign on the HSL adjustment to allow you to add multiple secondary adjustments on the same lumetri effect. That way we can do multiple colors.
Can anyone HELP ! I have to use regular paint as blood, so i need to color correct only this "paint", so do i use a darker or lighter colore? Wich one is easer to color correct? (or do i use a green screen/blue screen colore instead ?)
also on more question -- when you are targeting a shirt of a moving subject, does this affect someone nearby who also has a blue shirt? or is this motion tracking ?
I tried to use this same method with an ADJUSTMENT LAYER. It doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or does it just not work with ADJUSTMENT LAYERS?
Is it possible to isolate a specific portion of the frame to which I can apply this effect (for example if I have two yellow pillows, and want to change the colour of one but keep the colour of the other, in a still shot)?
thank for all Primiere Pro tuts you shared. But your viewer are spaning over the world, and alot of them don't speak English as native language, so could you mind speak alitle bit slowly? i think it better for non-English speaking like me.
Brilliant! Is there a good way to "mask out" thing you don't want to be affected by your changes in HSL secondary? For example that building that also got effected when you worked on the trees. Or if that biker had blue shoes and i just want to change the blue shirt?
You can add multiple layers of Lumetri to your clip and mask off certain sections frame by frame. Then use the HSL in each instance to only affect the masked area. If you want to affect the area around the mask you can click the "invert" box.
I have just started out on this... I'm starting to think something is up with my HSL Secondary as no matter what i do with the sliders, absolutely nothing changes! anyone else having this issue or am i doing something completely stupid?
Thank you for this video. But what if you want you to adjust multiple colors, like the purple of his shirt and the orange of the dry grass or blue of the sky? Or maybe you want to brighten the greens in the aerial shot and increase the blue of the tallest building?
All well and good but if I want to make a blue shirt yellow for example, I cannot. This only seems to allow me to add yellow to my already blue shirt and I end up with a green shirt. How on earth do I get it from the pure blue shirt in my video to the nice bright yellow shirt that I want. I must be doing something wrong, right?
Awesome thank you! Is there a way to target more than one color per clip? I mean after you've adjusted green as in you second clip and you want also adjust red, is there a means for that?
Actually, just found out... you can click the drop down menu on the Lumetri Color panel. It allows you to "Add Lumetri Color Effect." This adds an additional instance of Lumetri Color onto the same clip. That way each instance of Lumetri Color can target a separate color. That being said, I realize your comment is 2 years old and you may no longer be wondering about this. :)
Just filmed a very overcast beach wedding so I’m going to apply some of this as the bride wants the sky blue and honestly it wasn’t lol Thanks for this video !
When the only comment I can make is that it's "now we're cooking with gas" (instead of fire), I guess you can say I liked this video :P Actually looking for something similar, but then in an image... Have a (klm/sky) blue colour that looks purple-ish (unfortunately only have jpg). Haven't really had time to google/youtube it yet, but of course tips are welcome ;)
im working on premiere cc i having any issue on it but on FC i Have to face some problem like how make a timeline etc plz help me on it and define (DVPAL) 1080i and 1080p VBR1or2 What it Use for and CBC (Costant Bitrate) and i Need ur Fb Id too So ican Directly Contact u if i Stuck Some Where Thanks
He made the overall image worse than it was with his "correction" and then made a tone of adjustments just to keep the t-shirt almost the same color as before. Another example from someone who copies others just to hit some views but has no idea what to do.

Final cut allows this. I use both premiere and final cut and honestly I like final cut better. less crashes and issues.

You saved my life . I wanted this answer in the whole video which no one talks about

Bro, how do you subscribe to copyright-free wedding songs?
Greetings from Indonesia..
how if i want to tweak 2 color in HSL, example is red and green in the same time? need nest the clip?
1:35 yeah, never thought that before I saw this video
THANK U
Hi I’m trying to make the greens darker but can’t work it out any advice
Why my premiere 2017 doesnt hava saturation in correction tab??
also on more question -- when you are targeting a shirt of a moving subject, does this affect someone nearby who also has a blue shirt? or is this motion tracking ?
It's not motion taking....yes it do affect. But you can control that by using masks
"And now we've done this terrible thing to his shirt" 😅
I tried to use this same method with an ADJUSTMENT LAYER. It doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or does it just not work with ADJUSTMENT LAYERS?
I left a like!

see my comment
I Wanna know this aswell. Is there a way to mask out the blue sky if i just want to change the colour of the blue sea?
You can add multiple layers of Lumetri to your clip and mask off certain sections frame by frame. Then use the HSL in each instance to only affect the masked area. If you want to affect the area around the mask you can click the "invert" box.
i will buy the premier pro cours , i will love to be your student. soon you will see somme results...
Please make a video in orange and teal color grading
thanks for the video. will you bring dreamweaver?
In lightroom you can color mix by numbers so I can set Hue in red to -10 etc, is that possible in premiere pro?
I click on the color yellow/lime whatever that shade is, and it makes everything BUT the yellow area, grey. Whats that about ?
I have just started out on this... I'm starting to think something is up with my HSL Secondary as no matter what i do with the sliders, absolutely nothing changes! anyone else having this issue or am i doing something completely stupid?
im having the same issues even with the adjustment layer method
It you can apply a mask to the tree area then you only affect the trees
is it possible to target more than one color in the video? if i wanted to mess with the reds, greens and blues for instance
Perfect Tutorial :))
Thanks, flo!

MASTER!
Awesome thank you! Is there a way to target more than one color per clip? I mean after you've adjusted green as in you second clip and you want also adjust red, is there a means for that?

the color selector never works for me. I click on a blue color and i get red...

Update your premiere pro to the latest version. It is not available on the older versions I believe.
Fucking phenomenal tutorial
the HSL secondary option doesnt pop up in my premiere pro lumetri color. Do i need a new version or something? I have Premiere Pro CC 2015.
Yes. HSL Secondary is a newer feature for Premiere Pro. You may have to upgrade to the latest version of Premiere for that
