- I compared the BRAND NEW Kingroon KLP1 230mm 3D printer against the KLP1 210mm printer from last year! Kingroon has been making some great machines lately, and this was a fun video to make comparing the print results and showing that the improvements they've made worked out great!

A VERY short glance at the new version. You're barely scratching the surface here. There would have been so many things you could have compared between them, at the very least;
- Noise levels when printing and when idle
- Changes in the toolhead department?
- Heatup time of the old bed versus the new one
- Do they use the same power supply since the bed is now bigger and more power hungry?
- Any updates to the software and/or UI?
- Any specific issuesthat were in the first version fixed in this one?
etc...
That’s the great thing about UA-cam that I think 3D printing people have lost sight of. Not everything has to be in a single video and has to have all the nerdy geeky stuff. Sometimes I get to do a comparison that was inspired by my audience on our live show, and that’s it, just that and if I feel like coming back to it, I might.
3D printing has expanded out past the nerds and geeks and 99% of users don’t care what power supply is being used or if it takes 93 seconds to heat up or 87.
Ha! Haven’t finished building the printer….
Why do they need so many screws!?!
$395(current price) for this vs an A1 for $399 is a hard sell. This would need to drop to AT LEAST 339 for me to even consider it.
Very different customer base I believe. People looking for an enclosed Klipper machine play has a great option here.
@@LoyalMoses perhaps you're right. A1 isn't great for ABS or ASA unless you enclose it somehow. I'd still say it is a tough sell for my uses, but not as bad with that context.
I will say if the bed size was on par (256+) that would entirely change my opinion. 🤷🏼♀️

How many firmware updates have they done for these? For the kps3 line, they all but abandoned the marlin firmware, which was marlin 1.
I have one on each I haven't done yet. I have the KP3S Pro V2 here as well, not sure if it has an update.

@@LoyalMoses I’m looking to get my first 3d printer and am looking at the flashforge 5m and the qidi q1 pro as they are similar price also the k1 is almost in my budget. Would you recommend one of those 3 printers or is there another option which is better

It's so disappointing they didn't fix the most annoying issues the 210 version had: the screen should be on the outside, bizarre filament sensor placement, the top lid being too close to toolhead etc. They basically ignored all the feedback and shipped the same thing for the 3rd time under the same exact name (the v1 version had no screen).
The lid being too close is a strange phenomenon that all of these enclosed machines have, even Bambu and Creality are doing it, it's weird. I really wish they'd changed the screen out to a touch screen instead of this silly stylus thing. Finding this stylus drives me nuts!

Nice comparison. $50 more for 20mm... that's what, $2.50 per mm... I guess it's not bad LOL. Did anything else change on the printer, or strictly the size? Would be surprised if they didn't do more under the cover things to it. Thanks for all the excellent content Loyal.
The extruder gearing ration changed, which appears to have a significant impact on the print results at speed, but overall, they did great making it a more reliable machine.
