I've lived in Limerick all my life and i can tell you that both accents in this Video are genuine Limerick accents. Ok theres loads of expressions like "tackies" , "give you a boot in the forehead","C'mere i want ya" that are not in it. But then again theres only so much you can fit into a short Video. Well done lads I love it.

Thanks for the help! Since there's a lot of slang in Limerick, what are some phrases that people use a lot that I should know? Where are the best places to go and what are some things that I should see before I leave? What is it like in Limerick in general?
      Thanks so much again!

Did the dude say "She's got a face like a plasterers radio?" That's not the context to which I know that phrase, it would suggest she's out in public with spaff all over her face. Apart from that we use half of these phrases in Dundee, which isn't even in the same country.

A good insult has a less sensitive meaning at times, so I'd say they took it up innocently to be about make up.

Also it was very intentional by everyone involved in this video to use sayings and phrases generic to all Limerick people, not just to those of particular socio economic backgrounds. There are also many variations of the Limerick accent, from the thick working class to a clear well pronounced upper middle class accent. Accents both covered in this video.

@shaneserrano Well said Shane! I think the girls accent is more of a middle class Limerick accent. Kind of accent you would hear on the bus out to UL while the lads accent would be typical Limerick. Won't use the word scumbag or scobie as I know plently of people (including myself!!) who would sound like these but are actually fairly nice down to earth people. Btw did you direct some Rubberbandits videos.

Someone commented there are Cork Slang words in it, the truth is, the North Cork accent and the Limerick accents are very similar as is the culture like Black Pudding, Pigs Toes etc, in food that is. limerick has the Sh instead of a T, as gesh away oush of ish,' get away out of it' don't know where that came from, some Dubs use it also. Anyway, enjoyed the Vid! Thanks for posting.

Having some sneaky suspicions about this video.
1.Filmed by Shane Serrano, same guy who filmed RubberBandits "Bags of Glue" video. They had no money at the time so they must know the guy.
2.At the end the guy in yellow sounds suspiciously like BlindBoyBoatClub.
    3. If you've seen the edited pictures of the bandits without masks (Blurred) You can see the guy in yellow has the same colour hair & Facial hair.
