I have been using the ZEEE brand batteries for the last couple year, all of them have worked very well. Also, since your BBQ has quite a few batteries in there now, you may want to add in some sand or cat litter to try and "bury" each one so they are not just all stacked on top of each other. If one goes they are all going to go like this. Having them buried in something may restrict it to just the one catching fire if things go badly. Just an additional tip!
Right best driving film has been suggested as "Rush" so when I searched it I got "Ayra Starr - Rush" which is a wicked tune brothers and sisters a Nigerian superstar she knows a tune ooh yeh. Right back to netflix
I've got a green rock crawler with a lipo battery, and because I'm paranoid about it catching fire, I've been keeping it outside in my BBQ too. I've got some old mini RC planes that have lipos too, that I should probably keep in there too.
Heya, yeah I keep mine in the back shed. I do have to get some kind of fire resistant box for them though, I don't want to lose the shed. The little bbq is a good idea.
I used to repair my old lipos, then I had a fire.. Now I don't.!😉 😉 If it's just a balance lead I'll resolder it but beyond that I don't mess with them.!
my generall tips for lipos: 1. keep a protocol. whenever you charge them for a day out, write down the internal resistance of the cells for each pack (given your charger or lipo-checker is capable of measuring the resistance of the individual cells). that way you can tell in advance, if a pack is starting to degrade quickly. 2. build yourself a resistor bank. that way you can simply kill damaged packs by completely depleting them so they pose no risk when disposing (still tape the contacts of course).
Get (or make) a resistor discharge bank and flatten them down to zero volts. Then they're completely safe and can be disposed of anywhere that does battery recycling - supermarkets usually
I completely drain old lipos. For others i have two ammo boxes from the military 😅 inside i seperated some a little with bags. I drilled holes into them so pressure can get out. Originally these were waterproof with sealings.
I have a bunch of old liposuction and in Australia you can take them to the council or battery world and they dispose of them for free. But here in Asia there is no service where I live and the hobby shop says throw them in the bin so not sure what to do here.
@PopalongRC it is but shouldn't be if the council had seen that Mythbusters episode. There has been a lot of cases in Australia where the bin man has a lipo fire and dumps his load on the road. Can you imagine the issues with crap Tesla batteries in 10yrs, get more nitro buggies 😂
Actually on a serious note the nights are drawing in across the pond has hurricanes rc racing is back to the bench for me in UK. I am interested to know what everyone's favourite car based film is, days of thunder to me a classic my wife loves le mans and she drives with her nose touching the windscreen in my Golf GTI+. Someone in the US might not have seen " The Italian job" Herbie counts, or maybe footage of Valentino Rossi on a bike. There maybe a film I haven't seen I'm all ears.
Hi guys. Any of my soft shell batterys i use plastikote. dip, brush, or spray. Never had a problem with over heating or durability. It gives them a jonny coating, but smells better.😜
I know one of the tricks some people use is to put the batteries into a (very) salt water bath for a day or two. This will discharge them slowly in more or less in a safe manor. I have experimented with this and it seems to work...just don't do it in your house.
Popalong there iis a common thread here . Where do we dispose of lipos or anyy battery a supermarket does not have in any way shape or form for lithium. Its a good question they can self igninite we need some education here this is for everyone iphones included
My misses said it's going to be difficult to hold the camara doing 69, she's not up for it I'll have to do it on my own . sorry sorry no more inuendo it's Mark he's a bad influence. Just pre-ordered the notoriously weak Super Astute couldn't help it apparently Jamie Booth won with it back in 92. Tamiya revival it must weigh half of an rc10 it's made of matchsticks.
It's evening across the pond. Popalong is truly becoming global. Evening gents!
cheers buddy

nice advice
I use Zeee in my crawler and my bashers, no complaints after years of use.
Those ZEE lipo's are great. Been using some 6s 5200mah 100c in my planes and helicopter. Plenty of power and punch.
Hello from Canada lads. Love your videos.

just be sensible
Great video chaps. Keep up the good work 👍

best safe than sorry
If I was you stay away from heat
Our local co-op now allows lipo batteries in their battery recycling box. Keep an eye out at your local supermarket
think it would be irresponsible for me to dump all those batteries in a COOP
So glad you got the clarification in there 😂
hahaha
My old nihms are still ok just very short running time lol. Hope new battery tech makes the hobby saver
Hey mate nmhd we won't be on fire lithium on the periodic table is unstable
Still have a burn mark on my pit table from mates lipo blowing up during a meet 😂😂
a gentle reminder

Then if all else fails retreat to the nearest bunker

it is a tricky one

Ok rush tonight thankyou haven't seen it
+1 for ZEE

Great tip!
@@PopalongRC That's what she said!
Does that work for wives?
69? Happy ending? you guys kill me!!🤣🤣🤣
There's a couple ways to discharge and render them safe
My mate had an extreme Lipo battery implosion the other day. Don't know how to upload the video, but more smoke than you would expect.
they are crazy when they go
Brilliant content 😂

Morning gents..
Good night
I’ve hammered nails through old puffed lips a few times and the results were very disappointing. 😔
interesting strategy
🔥🔥🔥
Cassie your on fire honey
@@daysofnick 😂😂😅😅
I have never has a battery swell like that....are you looking after your batteries properly Carl? Hmmm?
Some of these batteries are 10years old
Local places just don't know what to do with race lipos, they act like they're the same as other batteries so what do you do?
true
Keep mine in ammo boxes out in the garage
I store my Lipos in an ammo box with a couple vent holes drilled in it.
good call
You know what's coming right - is it under your girlfriends bed, sorry that's a bad joke
Are we going to war heads up
@@daysofnick ready to chuck sketchy lipos like grenades...🤣
@@daysofnick 🤣😂
Can't do that 69 stuff.... I'm a metric fan ;)
You know the answer he goes this is for my grandad- metric my arse
That's funny lol
thanks buddy

Noone laughs driving an astute
All lipo batterys are dangerous.
they all have that potential
😂😂😂 69.
I see people still using pregnant batteries all the time. I seen people fighting them just to get them to fit in the car too
crazy
