What a pleasure to have found your channel! I am looking forward to all your videos. I really like your format. Liked and subscribed and many more 👍s to come your way 😊
Just saying that I have really missed you guys & I'd love to see more from y'all on this platform. You provide some of the best, most thorough information for plants on UA-cam. Huge fan
Thank you for all your work and information. Bought my favs, the Snake Plant....these babies are growing left n right with full sun for a while, then filtered. Seems they grow well no matter what. Lots of sweet babies and I know I will have to repot.....giving some as gifts. But taking care of plants, is not a cheap interprise and takes time. I only keep the plants I love around me.....so I can keep the costs down, because all of God's beautiful bounty is a temptation to gather more...wish I could.....Thank you again, enjoy your channel. Hope you have a nice holiday season. Love to you and your family. Be safe.
I struggle with finding the best plants for low-light spaces since I have a lot of low-light spaces. Great tips here for making those plants happy and healthy :)
When someone puts a plant in low light, it’s usually because they had no choice. There’s not going to be bright window they just forgot about because that’s the first place you’d put a plant.
Or they just wanted to make the room more pleasant by putting a plant there, but if it the only choice you have you can still give it more light by putting it under a lamp. It doesn't even have to be a grow light.
I absolutely love your channel so much! I’m new to being a plant mom but you make me feel confident! I’d love it if you could show me how to schedule my regular watering, preventative treatments (Insecticide, fungicide, and protective) and fertilizer. Also, a video on cat palm. Thank you ☺️🙏🏼
Thank you for your informative video. How do you keep your plant alive during winter in Sweden? I lose lots of them because of short days every year. Even grow lights are not helping .
.. Even though I only use organic fertilizer, I still give give my plants a flush cleaning every 5-6 month.. During winter I only give them 1/3 of fertilizer than what they would usually need, simply because most my plants are still growing and pushing out new foliage..
.. Keeping the leaves clean from dust and dirt is keeping the pests away or at least at the minimum.. Letting the plants dry out or to the minimum of moist, is also keeping the pests out..
I would love a list of plants that can tolerate low light placement and also, plants that like and/or tolerate a south-facing window in the summer ( in the northern hemisphere like Sweden).
I used to think a ZZ plant was a slow growing plant because I kept it inside due to it being a "low light" plant. Then I put it outside under a shade tree in the spring and it woke up and grew like a weed from all the sun it was getting.
if a plant cannot be moved to a brighter place permanently (those places are used during the day), is it good for the plant to be placed there for a few hours from time to time? or is it even more stressful for the plant?
Sadly, there are no low light plants when one lives in northern climates. Zz plant grew best for me when I put it in a room room with a huge eastern and huge southern window. It was as bright light as can be indoors where I live and my "low light" plants grew like weeds. In northern window it just survives.
I have a Rhipsalis that keep indoors 85 percent of the time and I've noticed that it keeps shedding more than usual. I've skimmed through the planr and did not notice any pest, the growth seems a bit stunted, i think because it sheds so much snd i am not sure what to do to improve the condition. Help?
Quick question - do you recommend you mixing pumice in soil mix? I mixed 40% potting soil, 30% vermicompost, remaining mix of pumice, leca and perlite, and used this for one of my plant cuttings. But found that within a couple of days, the soil mix started smelling really bad, like that of decaying matter. I feel pumice is not good to be mixed in higher quantity with soil. Could you please opine?
I did something like your mix, though not as many percentage of vermicompost…probably only 10-15%, never had that kind of issue. Alocasia loves this kind of mix. Especially with more pumice like 50%, will prevent root rot on them.
@@TheMariaFerraz hmm - I didn't see anyyhing living / squiggling in the vermicompost, but I'll take a closer at it in the morning. Thanks for the pointer
Please make a video about pests, especially thrips! Now Provado, Provanto, Substral AND pyrethrins are forbidden, in Sweden. Now I only have the soap left. But the thrips seem to survive. And they hide. And they hatch. I have to soap ALL my plants more than once a week. I do it now once a week and I have to check with a magnifier each leaf. The ones that look suspicious end up in the bathtub to get soaped every day. I WILL WIN over the thrips. I WILL. I don't want to throw my plants away. But the thrips are like a monster in a movie. You think you killed it and everything seems to be solved. Then it comes alive again.
Do any of the Swedish plant guys have house plant collections in your homes? Would love to see them! Thanks for sharing. 🪴♥️
Of course they do. Lol
Plant tour please!!
Absolutely the best plant information channel. Thank you

Great information and well presented😌🤲🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Information provided was very important and resourceful. The sad thing is that many new garden enthusiasts mistake 'Low Light' for 'No Light' at all.

Hi
I live in sweden . Could you talk more about how to take care of plants in sweden( seasons)

If plants are in bright artificial light is that the same as being in the sun or would that still be considered low light?

@@yukiaditya7352 I don't know why - but it smelled really bad. Not the earthy wet smell, but, you know, of rot. Not sure what's the problem 😔
