Loved the end footage with the dancing! Im so so glad to see Lion looking so well ❤️🩹 you must be so relieved to have him home again 🎉. I really like that bodice - its very classy! I don't think the skirt needed the lace trim (beautiful as it is!) because the colour of the silk is so rich and vibrant that its it own decoration. Still im looking forward to seeing the day-bodice and ruffle in the future 🫶
When I was a little skinny 9-ish yr old, I tried on my teenage sis's bra and was like, "Whoa! I can't see anything below it." So when you couldn't see below your bust, I was totally with you! 🤣
I adore this dress! It reminds me a lot to the orange velvet dress worn by Josefina de Alvear de Errázuriz in the Sorolla portrait that hangs in the Errázuriz-Alvear palace 😍
I feel the need to mention how unbelievably funny I found seeing the bodice on the dress form with the roll of ribbon tucked into the front, like the silliest application of the "hiding something in your bust" trope ever!
It looked really pretty with the lace, but definitely didn't need it. 😊 Glad you left it off. Hope you had an awesome time at Port Townsend. That 'dress' is beautiful.❤
Rebecca, the dress is beautiful, and your hair is lovely! I was all for the lace on the bottom until you did the side-by-side. More elegant without the lace.
Another beautiful dress. I get what you were trying to do with the lace, maybe if you tried to do like the neck line ruffle thing, maybe 2 rows of that at the bottom.
Rebecca, the shoulder straps are playing up, not sure if you get to it but it's screaming lift at the shoulder and drop the armscye to get rid of that crumple xo
How awesome that you actually finished early!! When you said the word "costume-y" I started nodding. Probably an off-white binding would have been better, but you might need the material for the day bodice, so why go there? Lol
I loved the lace and actually thought it looked less Disney princess (the contrasting white sleeves made me go there, sorry). That being said I love the sleeves so much! You really got a great payoff from all those layers! Absolutely beautiful final results all around, lace notwithstanding.
I'm kind of torn about the trim on the bottom, the dress is pretty as is but I would rather see it all the way around if you do. So I'm going to have to vote for no trim. Love your blingy pink headband too! I call my headbands my crowns. lol
Wow. So very elegant! I really like the ruffle detail around the neckline. You looked like royalty in your tiara and beautiful purple dress. You haven’t said, but I hope there’s good news following Lion’s surgery. His little recovery dirt was too adorable as was Dora in her flower cone. I hope you had fun at the Victorian festival. Loved to see the dancing! Take care.
I wonder if the original skirt had something spilled on it or a low section got damage ( an older skirt that was bought second hand a remade up) hence ruffle panel.
So h Glad you chose to not at the lace on the skirt. It is more 1890s without it. While it is pretty, it seems to be more like a Disney vibe with the sparkles.
I have wondered about this since I first saw your bodice: Is there a fit issue with the shoulder straps or will the gaping and the weird folds at the armpit go away once the sleeves are properly set in?
@@LadyRebeccaFashions Thank you for answering it! Historical fits look always a bit strange to me, since the armscye is so different. And seeing the fit on a finished garment is way different than seeing it finished (it looks really beautiful by the way!). Guess the phrase "trust the process" is true once more here.
Dora is doing great, just really missing being outside. Lion is still healing from his surgery, and I hope to have an update when I see the vet again next week.

"...I don't know because I can't see below my bust!"
Sister, the struggle is real! ❤️
Hahaha! The only time I can see what's going on below is in a mirror!
So real. I haven't seen my toes without bending since puberty.
I'm so glad you finally got more pictures of the reference dress. Also, super glad to see Lion in his shirt!❤
Oh my goodness I love the lace. When I saw it I immediately thought ice queen. Which probably supports your feelings of it looking like a costume
Good to see the fur babies doing well. I hope you get more gofundme donations for them
Belle of the ball! Your gown is spectacular and you look beautiful in it! The other ladies are fabulous too!
Thanks!
I'm glad you decided to go without the lace -- it's beautiful, but I immediately thought of Historical Elsa.
The dress is gorgeous!
It turned out lovely. Can't wait to see the rest of the project done. Give those sweet furbabies lots of cuddles for me.
You would have fit right in in the 1890's. Gorgeous!!

I've always enjoyed the 1890s Silhouette!

Absolutely stunning. I love watching you trouble shoot your ideas. Hope you had a fabulous time at the festival.

Thanks for sharing this sewing journey. Much appreciated.

You look so pretty in your ballgown, Lady Rebecca!! It looks like you had fun at the ball too! 😊
You have outdone yourself! You are definitely the belle of the ball! Congratulations and well done!
Thanks!

Looks quite lovely indeed. You and the dress together-beautiful!🧵
Thanks!
How gorgeous! You and the dress! What a triumph!❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
You two dancing! :D She is such a hoot!
Oh my goodness, it's so beautiful! such pouf!

Dora: Mom...mom...MOM!! LOL ❤🤎💜🧡💛💚💖
Beautiful...can't wait to see it as day, to!!❤❤❤
Thanks!
Smashing! It's lovely.
You look like a princess! Lovely! 😊
Thanks!
I am loving that colour on you
It is so lovely ❤
I don’t know why, but this dress gave me “Anastasia” vibes. Love it!!!
Another beautiful dress. I get what you were trying to do with the lace, maybe if you tried to do like the neck line ruffle thing, maybe 2 rows of that at the bottom.
You look so beautiful and regal in the final results! It honestly gave me Anastasia vibes which I love!
Thanks!

The dress is stunning! I liked both looks for the skirt but I get what you mean. Hope you had a great time at the festival!
Thanks!
I liked the lace at the bottom but then it would have needed it on the top on the sleeves.

@@LadyRebeccaFashions wishing you the best of luck 🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏
I have heard that you can use a yoga mat for under your sewing machine
Absolutely stunning.
Thanks!
I would go with the apliqe on the bottom
No lace was the right choice 👏
Glad you finished your dress early. Are you going to post a video about your time at this year's Victorian festival?
Yep! I think that will be coming out next week.
I thought the lace looked stunning...lace is always more...hoho. If you questioned it, then it was right without. The video looked beautiful.
I wonder if the original skirt had something spilled on it or a low section got damage ( an older skirt that was bought second hand a remade up) hence ruffle panel.
It's possible something was added to it, but because of the cutaway nature, I think it really was originally made with the ruffle.
A triumph so elegant, glad u didn’t trim the bottom
So h

They went away - I didn't have any issues with them.

I'm just here for Dora at this point and not even a minute in. How is she doing? And Lion?!! Are they ok???
Dora is doing great, just really missing being outside. Lion is still healing from his surgery, and I hope to have an update when I see the vet again next week.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions I'm so glad. I'm a cat mom as well, so I would do the same. Dora and Lion are just too adorable together
Mom! Pay attention to me!
Why is the cat wearing a bum pad?
Because she’s a bit of a bum. 😂 actually I think it’s a softer alternative to a cone of doom.
Dora recently had surgery, too, and it's more comfortable than the cone of shame, lol!
@@amb163 So a padded collar to protect the stitches. On any other channel I would not have leapt to "oh look, a bum pad" conclusions.
Well, it came out beautifully - and didn't your hair look great for the Festival too!
Thanks!
