      yes and no. we have the #1 in Canada Land Rover technician at my work and his tools are all over the place, his bench and bay is cluttered and messy mostly. but he never has comebacks that are caused by his workmanship. While our most anal person who keeps everything neat and clean (he once ordered a brand new oil drainer cuz someone else used it) diagnosed a car before seeing it, has an apprentice work on it to find out that's not the issue and has tons of comebacks because of his misdiagnoses. I will always judge a man's workmanship by his workmanship.

    Thanks for the video it was a big help in my install on my taco!!
    One thing I'd like to point out, especially on the earlier 1st gen taco's is that you need a ball joint press to eliminate the ball balljoint from the control arm as "hitting it out" with a hammer will crack.
    And i was using a jack in the drive way as not everybody is fortunate to use a lift.
    But other then that hands down agreed the best explanation of how to swap over the UCA's and install the coilovers.
    You do NOT need the sway bar what so ever as the coilovers are perfect and there is barely any "body roll" like others state in some forms!
    Hats off to yah!! 🤘

    Nice and quite through, I cant believe the removal of the UCA bolt the real reason I watched the video. I cant believe the engineers never planed this prior to assembly I was ready to give up or cut. So thank you so much for the brutal tip.

    Excellent right up one of the best for sure! This is a clean ride, so for those in the rust belt be ready to do some knuckle busting. The passanger side wheel well flange typically requires some cutting to move out of the way for the removal of the UCA through bolt.

    Good vid. I think he said this but you do not need to take your shock/spring/coilover out if just changing UCA. Also getting an accurate torque is easier if you get grease off those thru bolt threads

    I recommend disconnecting abs harness on the wheel hub/suspension. Could save you a $115 mistake. Super easy and worth it

      in their system they probably have all the individual parts flying out the door separately from full kits, due to shops rebuilding their arms and needing specifics.

    I have TC UCA on my 2015 Tacoma 4x4 3.5" lift but only adjusted to about 3.2"
    The TROUBLE I'm having is, I keep having to grease the bushings every other week.. otherwise it makes an annoying rubbing sound.. before i grease... I raise the truck, loosen the bolts... I grease... wait for bushings to separate a bit but not too much... then I retighten the bolts. If I see too much pressure being built on the bushing, then I let grease out.. after that I'm good for a week or two.. im dumbfounded... I'm I doing something wrong here?

    Is the ball joints durability stronger than the original and is its life span longer or not? As well as are affected by water and dust?

      Our uniballs are without a doubt stronger than an OEM ball joint due to their heat treated stainless steel contstruction. The lifespan depends on driving conditions, maintenance intervals and other variables. We say a well taken care of set of uniballs should get anywhere from 30,000-50,000 miles. Maintence includes wiping them down after dirt/element exposure and an occasional application of dry lube.

    My 2007 Tacoma pre-runner 2wd has a mass of sheet metal on the passenger side stopping the bolt. bending the sheet metal like that does nothing. Even tried using a pry bar between the sheet metal and frame and wouldn't budge. Going to have to cut the bolt.

    Noticed the lower shock bolt was replaced backwards, does that make a difference considering the direction the misalignment spacers were put into the shock?

    Direction of lower shock bolt is not correct in this video at 9:20. OEM is other direction. Good video altogether.

    Do you have a "How-To" on a 2009 Tacoma TRD off-road 4x4, Old Man Emu suspension lift? I need to install the pre-assembled coilovers with the 885x coils and 90021 Nitrocharger Sport struts. Also the 1.5" Wheelers 3-leaf progressive pack for the rear. A good quality tutorial like this one would be amazing for the Tacoma World forum and Facebook pages!

    How would I know if the Icon Remote Reservoir front coil-over shock kit that was installed on my 2010 Tacoma is actually adjusted to 3" lift I wanted and paid for.
    I had before a stretched original Bilstein to 2.5" and my tires didn't rub. It does now.

    What did you all do to remove stress on the CV joint, did you install a diff drop? Also do you all have any videos for installing these arms on a 2014 4Runner with KDSS?

      +Matthew Roll we offer a diff drop spacer but with UCA's it shouldn't be necessary. We don't have any videos for KDSS install.

      steve s pretty much the same method any other ball joint stays debris free... the cup that the ball sits in doesn't have a void large enough to allow much inside. also, again like any other ball joint eventually it will deteriorate and require replacement. they sell them on tc's website

      steve s It is a uniball. I am sure they sell replacements on their website. They use generic sizings, for instance my UCA's use a 1" uniball, and they are not too expensive to replace when they do eventually fail...

      +enkrypt3d No. It isn't even required when doing a lift either. It just makes it easier to wiggle parts around

    Great video! one question though, there was no mention of spring compressors. there are other videos online showing that they had to jack up the control arm and also slowly jack it down to release pressure on the coil spring. how is this different than those videos?

      +Dakota Larner He didn't need to do that because he installed a fully assembled coilover. The method you are describing has been deemed by many to be a dangerous procedure and the recommended procedure is to take out your old coilovers (leaving the middle bolt on the top of the coilover intact) and either install a new pair of fully assembled coilovers or if you plan to reuse your OEM springs, then take the new shocks and old shocks to a machine shop or garage to have them swap the coils for you with the proper spring compressor tool. Then you'd just install the coilovers in the same manner as he did in the video.

    Do you have any advice on what uca to get if u only want 1.5 of lift with either bilsteins or foxs ...i know spc are adjustable but I cant rely on the dealership or any garages around here to do anything other then a lazy mans alignment .i want it to be perfect ..is thete a certain degree of castwr etc per inch of lift? In yout experience jave u done any 1.5 inch lift and if so which uca was best for a simply install

      Our UCAs work best with a 1"-3" lift so you'll be in great shape with either Bilstein or Fox. While not adjustable like SPC, the geometry of our UCAs adds some caster back into the vehicle making alignments to factory Toyota significantly easier.

      @@bengleckl1877 You are correct. Vehicles such as Tacomas and 4runners are aligned using the lower control arms. When running our UCAs with the added caster built in, we're allowing the technician to align the vehicle to factory specs without having to adjust the LCA as drastically. Hope that makes sense.     see that bolt ontop (uca bolt) is the hardest part of all Toyota's it hits the cab & won't come out....

      Bend the pinch welded seam of the body panel and cab outward and you should be able to pull it out of the UCA's and mounting holes.

    video is a bit missleading... the video is 14 min but it cuts out the entire process of wrenching, twisting, turning greasing etc. My guess this is probably a slower process for most that never done this. But it's a good step by step tutorial none the less
