How big is this beautiful herd? ❤ I'm curious, how many acres do you think would be the minimal requirement for a small herd of 15-20 Black Angus cattle? Stocking rate. We had to go to different people to get hay as some could only give so much and we price shopped. The problem we had with cows was one liked to use her horns when being friendly and when her companion died she became destructive
Do you allow them to die of natural causes or what? How do you deal with end of life? I am curious, if you allow them to get very old, do you find they frequently develop cancer? I have a hypothesis which I wanted to confirm, but to confirm it, I have to talk with people that have pet farm animals. It appears that chickens always eventually develop cancer, I'm curious if the same is true of sheep, cows, goats, domesticated pigs, etc.
Cos it's winter and they're outside... it's wet outside... ground gets wet, cattle get dirty. It's natural/free-range what more do you want? Want her to chase them round with a hose 24/7 and towel dry them?
