  • Legacy Hornet fighter jockeys, amongst other military and civilian aviators seem to enjoy coming to the Pelican Aviation FBO at Acadiana Regional Airport (KARA) for fuel stops right around lunch time for some awesome South Louisiana Cajun food.
Last I checked there's still an active TACAN (military navigational aid equipment), along with an 8,000+ foot runway, and a military fuel contract here which attracts military aviators from all over the Gulf Coast on training sorties. However, it may very well also be the traditional Cajun cuisine meals that are offered to these guests which make it a popular stop for pilots and aircrew.
Featured here are various models F/A-18 Legacy Hornets from VFA-204 "River Rattlers" (NAS/JRB New Orleans, LA) conducting standard departures, arrivals, and airport ops at several times and dates. At the end is a bonus with a NASA astronaut arriving at sunset in her T-38 Talon jet.
