Many memories from my Air Force days in the DC area. The "banjo" terminal was where Northwest, TWA & NY Air parked in the 70s, 80s & 90s. A bit busier and brighter than I remember it. The Geo Wash Masonic Memorial is prominent at 1:52:25 off the wing tip. I see they've kept and very well maintained the Nat'l Arpt facade 1:57:37. Thanks for bringing us along. MSY has a new terminal. Looking forward to seeing it, hint-hint.
Virginia rocks. Thanks for the video. Next time hope you can sit on the other side on the way in from the north I don't think they fly over the mall anymore that was awesome but that was also in 1985.
I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend. They do still do the river visual that takes you right by the Mall, but it’s the lesser used approach. I haven’t had that approach in years now.
Ahhhhhhhh the patented and equally as famous Southwest 30 mph ground speed taxi maneuvers. I swear SWA must put a ludicrous taxi mode button in the cockpit somewhere. 😂🤔🤷🏻♂️👏🏻
Yes, I have. Once haha. I did a full island helicopter tour on The Big Island in Hawaii once. It was incredible, and it's on the channel if you'd like to watch. ua-cam.com/video/TUnKhXhlYxg/v-deo.html
I think they use that to store equipment. MCI is getting a brand new terminal, so in 6 months or so, all the airlines will be moving to a brand new facility. I think this tent has only been there for a couple years. If even that. I'd imagine Southwest needed a new place to work from after they tore down the old terminal, and no one wanted to spend a ton of money on a new building when the new terminal was being built. I could be wrong, but that's what I'd guess. It's probably a "temporary" work/storage space while the new terminal is being built.
@@sla31 I flew out of MCI a couple of times last year and don't remember seeing it. (And I flew on Southwest both times.) I'm sure it's just temporary until the new terminal is finished.
Hmmm. Next heavy to post, or next one I’m taking? 😂 The next heavy to post will likely be a domestic US heavy flight, like a UA 772 or AA 772. I have other international Heavies filmed and booked though.
American pilots: 🚶♂️
Southwest pilots: 🏃♂️💨
Yeah southwest moves like a bat on those taxiways.
😂🤣 this is the truth haha

I’ve been to MSY’s new terminal. I think those videos are posted haha. I’ll have to check. Either way, I do have a flight through MSY soon 😁.
@@sla31 I must've missed it. I'll check myself and I'm looking forward to your next trip to NOLA. Be well, sir.

Had to go in and check out the river approach. Now back to review and study all the content. Thank you, my friend!
As always, I’m glad you enjoyed this one man!
@@sla31 It’s my honor!
Awesome , Thanks Skylite 😊

I work ramp in MCI for SW. Have to let me know when you're flying out again and I'll try and put on a show for you from below! :D
I fly out of MCI a lot being it’s one of my home airports. If you see someone filling from the windows, it’s probably me haha.
@@sla31 just look for the tall curly haired guy next time and wave! I'll be sure to reciprocate haha :)
Yeah, 7 aircraft were waiting for their turn to take off.

Lots of planes trying to takeoff from the runway you landed on.
Great fly! Have you ever went to helicopter before regardless whenever you filmed or not? Did you like it?

@@sla31 cool can’t wait
Why are Southwest pilots always in a hurry? They taxing so fast!
1. maybe it's fun 2. why dilly-dally around the airport when you can get the heck out of there and be on your way?

Love this southwest flight thanks for sharing Skylight productions 🔴🔵🟡
