I am a new silver stacker and I am going to stack Libertads(cause they are rare, and I am mexican, hence the name mexica coins), Austrian Philharmonics, and American Eagles. I will post a video of my stack when I get them in the mail!
I'm an American, libertads are easily my favorites. Stacking libertads, turtles, and maples. Working on a coin from each sovereign mint around the world.
Couple years ago the US and Canadian mint did a "pride of two nations" coin set with reverse proofs of of an eagle and maple together (and the maple had unique background features). I hope someday there's a pride of 3 nations set that gets all three of the great north american bullion coins together like that :)
With the exception of the Libertad I have all of your top 5. After listening to you I think I may focus on Maples, Brittanias, and Eagles. So far I have 1 NCG69 & 1 NCG70 Eagle, 3 Maples, 1 Brittania, 1 Kangaroo, & 1 Philharmonic. Been going 4 months now. Trying to stack.
Silver Dragons! Thank you for introducing me to the Fascinating World of Silver Coins! Found your video most interesting & informative! The lettering on the side of the Libertad coin is Special! Time to start collecting silver coins starting with your Top 10!
My wife and I just purchased our first "KILO" kookaburra (2018) round a few days ago, to add to our stack! Probably our last "kilo", because we usually stay at the smaller 1, 2, 5, 10oz bars/rounds. Great collection! Enjoyed the vid!!
As a UK citizen, the Britannia is our best bet. As a government bullion coin, we are exempted from any Capital Gains Tax upon resale. Cool. They all look lovely, and shiny. Stacking is fun.
I'm stacking Eagles and Maples, I find they have a higher resale value than Kangaroo and Britania...well that being said, they also have a higher premium... These four are the most popular coins here in Singapore.
This is one great video. Really enjoyed it Dragons. I agree the American Eagle is my main bullion to stack but also picking up most of your others. Constitutional is also big for me, just too many amazing coins to choose from.
My favorite design is the Noah's Ark!!! The Britannias are a beauty. I have a few. They resemble a proof Like appearance. The Kangaroos are great but I like the Koalas. I have some Philharmonic's and really love those. Sooo hard to decide. I stack a bit of variety. Love them All!! I recently purchased the 30th anniversary Kookaburras. Couldn't pass em up!!! Love your video.♥️♥️♥️
Goethe possesed metal from the Geiger mint. 800+ years old. I like their two 10oz bar offerings as well (though pricey). I was really surprised he did not mention the mint fro which the Noah’s Arcs originate.
Love the top 10 - seems I’m very much aligned on the order with the exception that I would move the Krug ahead of the Philharmonic... so the rest shift over :) Great video, always enjoy the time you put in to these. Thanks
The only problem with the Libertad: They cost about the same as the American Silver Eagle, (plus or minus a few cents), but you’ll typically receive &1.25 - $1.50 less than the Eagle during buyback. That’s a heavy hit for a piece of silver that’s not even a “coin”. You’re better off just purchasing the Eagle.
For some reason I've always been partial to the Philharmonics and Britannias, but I'm stacking mostly Maples and ASEs. Working on some tubes of Phils though, but the higher silver price is making it tougher!
Keith, I'm stacking whatever is a good deal, I'm stacking generics, Maples, ASEs and junk. A few semi-numismatics too.... Whatever sparks joy ;). Otherwise we should all just buy SLV if we're looking for ease of transaction.
Also, the Libertads are coins. According to the government of Mexico, Libertads are worth their weight in Silver in Pesos. So, with current prices at just over $18, and about 20 Pesos to the Dollar, Libertads have a legal tender value right now of about 360 Pesos. The same concept applies to the Gold Krugerrand, except its weight in Gold in Rand.
new stacker here, have learnt heaps from your videos and from my recent purchases. My fave is maple leaf, but I haven't got my hands on ASE or libertad yet. I think there are much better kangaroo designs to be found
I like silvertowne buffalos since there in my state and i support local bullion. But when it comes to coins i like ASE's its the coin of my country and I love my homeland.
I just got 3 of the kangaroos and 3 maples. Provident had them on sale. Maples were same price as a generic bar and the kangaroos were 20 cents cheaper than the maples. 1 of the maples was a 1988 still in rcm vacuum sealed package.
nice list, i don't know how I haven't seen this til now. I agree with you with the exception of libertads. I find they're hard to find and when you do they are outrageously expensive.
I have 100's of silver Krugerrands and they do not milk spot, not one has spotted 2018's and 2019's, secondly, the gold Krugerrand is the most successful gold bullion coin in the world. More gold Krugerrands have been minted so far than all the other mints combined.
Great video! Seems to me the only ones worth collecting tho are the Mexican, Canadian, and Krugerands (aside from ASE’s) as there’s no 1099b reporting. Thoughts?
@Silver Dragons could you please make a "top 10" based on milkspotting? I mean, "which cheap bullion coins milkspot less quickly". It might be hard to do since not all mintage years are equal. Still, some series (like maples and krugerrands) are known for that . P.S. "just buy eagles" would not work well for me price-wise ("thanks" to my local dealers and lack of eastern europe support by big ones. Also it seems like local mint just exports all the coins to APMEX or SDBullion) P.P.S. Just in case, sorry for "necro-posting" under an old video.
Unfortunately all bullion can succumb to milk spots including eagles. The new Maples have a new thing that prevents milk spotting. Perth Mint coins like the Kookaburra and Koala are good as well. Not the Kangaroo as it milk spots a lot. American Eagles are still the best to stack or just generic rounds
If you were to rearrange the top ten now based on premium the libertad would be 10 at 16 over spot panda at 9 at 13 over spot and everything else tied at 9 dollars over spot.
I love the Noah's Ark. Only problem is the design doesn't change. The 30th anniversary kookaburras are great! What are the top high premium low mintage coins would you recommend?
Niue owls are a pretty good choice. They tend to have the lowest premiums(at least where I've seen them). Also when talking about premiums, it's better to look at the percentage, rather than the monetary amount. The monetary amount fluctuates a fair bit but the percentage tends to stay the same.
Niue isn't a mint, it's a minuscule self governed pacific island that associates with NZ. The Niue coins are minted by New Zealand Mint which gives some commission to Niue for using their name.
I don't have much of any govt. Bullion other then constitutional that was passed down to me. Its not much but it has a lot of variety. I really like the walking liberty halve and winged liberty dime. Indian head cents are nice too.:) Nice break down buddy, thanks for the share👍

*I like the look of the Britannia's.* Provident had either a "Flash Sale" or a "48 Hr.Sale" one time on the 2014 "horse privy" Britannia's for .99 cents over spot ! The privies were embedded into the edge of the coin. Someone chimed in saying "You can have 'em, they milk spot." Well, I bought them last year (2018) and they were 4 years old and no "milk spots".
My most favorite and base of my stack is the Libertad. They are the most liquid coin here, have lots of sizes, old and new designs, so the collectability factor can come in, while stacking... From a collector's point of view, I'm buying dog coins. I love that there are several out there and I love dogs. So for now, Libertads and dogs, maybe I will branch out more to US and Canada, as they are the second most recognized here.
only thing i have to say and its only a pet-peeve of mine is that the back of the coin is the reverse and the front is the obverse i heard it a few times but other than that good video plus we live in the same town we should talk some i would love to know where you go to get coins
Decided to sell some of the generic I got under $15 to my LCS, to buy ASE's. As a 20 year ebay veteran, just got another 8 eagles tonight at $18.25 after cc cash back & ebay bucks.
Thanks for another interesting video... I personally, don't collect any proofs or costly numismatic coins so I don't worry at all about milk spots... I actually don't really find milk-spotting on many of the semi-numismatics that I have... At this point I do have quite a lot of BU silver coins. I don't buy the Pandas because of the high premiums. My favourite series are the Rwanda mint Lunar series and the Rwanda sailing ships, of course the Queen's Beast series that I get in both gold and silver, and I just love to collect most any coins with Dragons on them. The Perth Mint rectangle Dragons I had to get in both Gold and silver... Just breathtakingly beautiful... Also I am collecting the silver Swans from Perth Mint and I have one of the swans also in 1 ounce gold... I have at least one coin in all those you are showing, except the Somalia Elephant, but not collecting each year.... For me, one coin is enough of those designs. I am in Canada and I don't find the Maples are anywhere near the lowest premium... so, not cheap here... but still I have about 150 ounces of Maples in silver... as the foundation of my silver stack. I absolutely love the American Eagles and love the colour of them, but again, very high premium here in Canada, so I only have one of them.
what kind of premiums do you have in canada on eagles and maples? here in the states maples are one of the cheapest coins (not rounds) to get with something like a $1.50 premium (when bought enough of). austria and the Britannia are also pretty low premium wise. ase's are a bit above those. in my state I have to pay 5% sales tax, if I lived 30 minutes south Id be in NC and I believe have to pay 0% sales tax. weird how each state is different. TN you have to pay tax no matter what, but here in VA if I were to buy enough it would be tax free.
Movie Lover... Okay I have to give you today's Canadian funds prices from Silver Gold Bull ( that is the dealer with the lowest prices here in Canada... Spot is $21.98 per ounce of silver today... The cheapest Round is $24.96... the cheapest coin is Australian Kangaroo for $25.96... the cheapest Maple is $26.22... the cheapest Eagle is $26.87 ... Then, if the order is less than $500.00 the shipping costs are another $19.00 per order, so I only order when I can get free shipping, so that's a $500.00 order each time. Where I live there are no local coin shops so I can only order online. Where do you buy? People who live in big Cities I think can find deals at coin shops. I have had to tone-down my spending on coins as I had a lot of home renovation costs recently.
I think 1 and 10 ounce Canadian Maples, 1 oz. Perth Kangaroos, 1 oz,10 oz. and Kilo Perth Mint Kooks, Britannias, and Noah's Ark are the way to go. I love the Korean Tigers. I think the very first coin will appreciate significantly. I think that series will be as good if not better than the Panda.
Love your video but quick question. I recently started stacking silver and I would think having them out the cases and touching without cotton gloves and rubbing them together would damage the coin. Am I wrong?
My strategy....as of now....1. Eagles...2. one each of Britannia, Maple Leaf, Kangaroo, and some others when I like them....(may get more Maples and Britannias, love the coin except for the queens head obviously..3. Dragon Rounds and Warrior Rounds from Provident (Golden State Mint)...4. Constitutional silver (love Mercs but Rosies are cheaper).
I agree except I would of put the maple 🍁 leaf in number 2 spot and libertad in number 3 spot just my opinion also I would of put allegories in there somewhere
Being Australian I only have tubes of Kangaroos, but I have some individual Eagles, Maples, Libertads and some random US state coins and also some numismatic silver content coins. I really want to get Britannias, Krugerrands and Philharmonics. Honestly I want a full tube of Eagles, Maples, Libertads, Britannias, Krugerrands and Philhamonics. After that a monster box of Kangaroos would be nice. I've got some bars too but I prefer rounds.
Where do you get American Silver Eagles for $3-$4 over spot? If you can buy them that cheap, the dealer will place a huge price on the shipping cost. Can you recommend a trustworthy dealer to purchase silver coins?
All I can say is keep stacking and tell everyone you know to do so, because we have the power to raise the price of silver by increasing demand, silver will run low in 15 years what do u think the price of silver will be when you can’t get anymore
I love Maple Leafs... Libertads are beautiful too and their low mintage is a plus... besides they come in different sizes 1/2, 1/4, 1/10 y 1/20 oz... also 1, 2 y 5 oz and 1 kilo.
Hi there 👋🏼 thanks for your awesome videos and for showing us your silver collection. Hopefully by the time you receive this comment, you will already have bought your Monster Box of ASE's 💥! My question is: If ASE's are the most minted coin in the world, wouldn't that lower their value when I sell during the recession/depression?

here in the states maples are one of the cheapest coins (not rounds) to get with something like a $1.50 premium (when bought enough of). austria and the Britannia are also pretty low premium wise. ase's are a bit above those.
in my state I have to pay 5% sales tax, if I lived 30 minutes south Id be in NC and I believe have to pay 0% sales tax. weird how each state is different.
Thank you My brother. I learned a lot and took down my notes. Peace and love family...
Osiris Jackson awesome I am happy to help thanks for watching!!! 🔥🐉
Question? just starting out but is it better to have the .9999 imprint on the coins?
I think 1 and 10 ounce Canadian Maples, 1 oz. Perth Kangaroos, 1 oz,10 oz. and Kilo Perth Mint Kooks, Britannias, and Noah's Ark are the way to go. I love the Korean Tigers. I think the very first coin will appreciate significantly. I think that series will be as good if not better than the Panda.
Love your video but quick question. I recently started stacking silver and I would think having them out the cases and touching without cotton gloves and rubbing them together would damage the coin. Am I wrong?
Man this is an amazing channel, but the amount of times you said stunning....... most certainly deserves these are AMAZING coins
What's better coins or bars?
Are some of these worth more than others? At the end of the day an ounce of silver is an ounce of silver, no?
I call the Mexican Liberty’s
How far have you come on that monster box???
My strategy....as of now....1. Eagles...2. one each of Britannia, Maple Leaf, Kangaroo, and some others when I like them....(may get more Maples and Britannias, love the coin except for the queens head obviously..3. Dragon Rounds and Warrior Rounds from Provident (Golden State Mint)...4. Constitutional silver (love Mercs but Rosies are cheaper).
#1 American eagle
#2 Maple Leaf
#3 Anything Limited by both the US and Canadian mints
#4 Generic Rounds
I agree except I would of put the maple 🍁 leaf in number 2 spot and libertad in number 3 spot just my opinion also I would of put allegories in there somewhere
Great video my friend.
CoinMan 5000 thanks so much CM5K!!! 👍🏽🔥🐉
Great choices. Agree on most. Have a good one
Picked up a $30 RMC 66.6 gram proof coin plus a couple little brothers for him. It has King George on the obverse
I know you wrote bullion coins but I would argue that for stacking, 10 oz bars are probably the sweet spot to pay as little premium as possible.
Silverholic true but I think collecting coins is much more fun than stacking 10oz bars. I do have both tho
Where do you get American Silver Eagles for $3-$4 over spot? If you can buy them that cheap, the dealer will place a huge price on the shipping cost. Can you recommend a trustworthy dealer to purchase silver coins?
Where can I buy silver eagle + $3.00
Pretty sure those days are long gone but I'm in Aus so my dealer's prices aren't going to be a totally accurate representation of your experience.
Probably nowhere, you might be able to get a generic round for that price
All I can say is keep stacking and tell everyone you know to do so, because we have the power to raise the price of silver by increasing demand, silver will run low in 15 years what do u think the price of silver will be when you can’t get anymore
Britannia, eagles, and kangaroo for me. Will get some maples at some point.
Canadians over Mexican any day for me.
Doug Lloyd yeah for stacking you are probably right I just don’t like them as much 🔥🐉
yeah, and for some reason, the Libertad is more expensive.. Maybe the currency exchange rate from Canada? idk..
I love Maple Leafs... Libertads are beautiful too and their low mintage is a plus... besides they come in different sizes 1/2, 1/4, 1/10 y 1/20 oz... also 1, 2 y 5 oz and 1 kilo.
bigwo56 libertads have very low montage
Hi and thanks from Australia.
What about the American Buffalo?
How on earth you can put the Philharmonic ahead of a silver Krugerrand, God only knows?
Cheaper, longer track record in silver, Nazism is farther in the past than apartheid.
@@HerbDregs Don't talk to me about Apartheid, America's civil rights for black people has gone largely unheard since the 50's and 60's. America has just got to be the most evil country on the planet. "He who lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"
@@tristanmaclennan2989 Sure, they're both terrible.
What about milk spots
I buy eagles and maples and buffalo's which are all my favorite 👍
