The reason Tennessee football songs are so popular this year is because Tennessee is playing at a significantly higher level than they have been over the past decade-plus… safe to say people from Tennessee (Nashville) are pretty happy about it-Country singers and songwriters included
There's just something about Days That End in Why that grabs my attention. That one is definitely my favorite. I do agree that this "love overtakes college football" songs have gotten a little much. I kinda want someone to have a different but fun take where they fall in love with someone but can't continue cause they're a fan of their rival team.
Staying up for something that wasnt even an album is a feat only Morgan Wallen could make me do. Stoned by PM was worth staying up for though too. Great vid Grady
One Thing At A Time is a bit too poppy for my personal taste. The vocals also remind me a bit of Zach Bryan making fun of Nashville country in If She Wants a Cowboy
If I’m being completely honest I’m very lukewarm when it comes to Morgan Wallen. His sound a lot of the time doesn’t do anything for me, sometimes it’s more low production pop than country.
One Thing At A Time was my favourite of the three straight away. Morgan already had a football song with Had Me By Halftime but it’s fun to see this sub-genre keep rolling 😅
My favorite is definitely One Thing at a Time Edit: I should probably mention that I stayed up till midnight as well to listen to this, as a dude in the top 0.1% of MW fans, I felt obligated.
Okay honestly, after coming out of Don't think Jesus... these were mid. Shoot me, but they're mid. Not bad, but not great. Also Grady, "Someone named Driver Williams"? He's the guitarist of a dudes who's face you have on your wall 😂 love you man!
I‘m so happy that I found your channel! Country music is not super popular in Germany so having someone react to new music introduces me to songs I might not have found on spotify by myself 😊
“One Thing At a Time” and “Days That End in Why” are my favorites of the trio. First one is one I can see myself and others jamming’ out in the car, and the second just hits in the feels to some degree. Sorry to say the third one just doesn’t do it for me… love his music and saw him in Concert back in Sept in California, such a cool experience and can’t wait for more. Love your videos, Grady! Keep ‘em coming!!
I thought they were pretty mid tbh, was hoping for some more country-rock, hardy like song. none of these are bad… it’s just no one of them give me that This Side of a Dust Cloud or 865 kinda feeling. edit: the writing does seem pretty good to be fair, i think it just doesn’t match the production imo.
I’m so glad you pointed out the similar creative direction to the album artwork to American Heartbreak. You’d think with the massive budgets these artist have that’d it’d be worth the time and effort for the teams involved to be more creative and unique.
Megan was 100% using it for publicity and it’s really obvious. She sings about being born and raised a GA fan, Morgan’s songs are about an Alabama girl. She and Conner Smith’s songs are definitely about each other, not Morgan’s.
The chorus of “Days that End in Why” sounds way too much like “This Side of a Dust Cloud”. Morgan Wallen can be amazing, but then he turns around puts out stuff that is so redundant. It’s frustrating when he can and has done great music.
Yes! They’re practically the same song, but This Side of a Dust Cloud is the better one in my opinion. I def wish he could move past every song being about whiskey and dust clouds lol
One Thing At A Time is my initial favorite, followed by Tennessee Fan, and then Days That End In Why. The Tennessee song did have the nice twist with him stealing the girl from Bama and turning her orange. But he's already done "Had Me At Halftime" which is just too similar. Days That End In Why was decent, had some nice writing, just not super catchy to me.
Days That End in Why sounds like a High Strung or “Nashville Tuned” guitar. Basically, a way of taking the lower 4 strings on a guitar, replacing them with a thinner gauge string, then tuning them up an octave.
I didn't know the gosh-awful FGL remix existed until now. Why did you do me dirty like that Grady? Also, Love the energy on this one, dude. Have a good one!
Really like the first 2 but I’m already sick of the college football romance songs. Tennessee Orange is amazing and one of the best songs of the year and it was a funny coincidence that Connor Smith dropped his around the same time but I’m already done with them. There’s maybe room for 1 more person to drop a song about a team other than Tennessee but enough is enough. Wait till next year to release a college football song
Yeah, you're definitely right that Tennessee Fan will be the most popular. I've basically had it on replay since I first heard it. Also, ONCE AGAIN, another video that has NOTHING to do with Zach Bryan and yet you couldn't help yourself. Stop it.
@@GradySmith I don't understand how he's influential. I don't understand how anyone likes his sound. It's like he's whining/swallowing his sound. His lyrics are beautiful, I can't deny that, but I'd rather hear someone with a fuller, bolder voice singing them. I swear you get a kickback every time you mention his name because I can't remember the last video you did where you didn't mention him.
@@WhitetailVigilantes when you look up streams per listener, (aka how deep do fans dive into the music, the top two artists in all of country right now are Morgan, then Zach. Days that end in why could also mean the letter “Y”. Basically every day of the week. Every day starting with whiskey 🥃 and asking “why?”. 🤯when it finally clicked with me as I was living the exact same scenario he sings about, in a point in my life.
Days That End In Why is so similar to This Side of a Dust Cloud. Almost like a sequel? So much of the verbiage is the same. Def my least favorite of the 3, but still not bad.
Because it will be the only thing I would like a more of the time you will get a better feel better if it were not to you in a way better than what I want in life as you
Tucker Beathard had the best college football song. A great song for the Sad Bois. Truth be told I am more interested in the music that is going to come out after the tour in 2023 where Morgan Wallen, Ernest and Hardy are out on the road with Bailey Zimmerman.
These songs are worrying me for this new double or triple album? Like these releases are the highlights of the album? Idk, so far finding them weaker than the filler on dangerous, maybe itll grow a little more on me maybe the context of the entire album will win me over. Was hugely into dangerous
Driver Williams dad is Jody Williams driver is the lead guitar for ERic Church since day one. Driver is a real nice dude. His dad is kinda super famous lol
Yes, the instrumentals in Morgan's music are amazing! His band needs more acknowledgement. Morgan needs to focus on hometown real women with hearts of gold and natural beauty. Most girls in these bars are shiny and fake. Morgan is making it big going off life experiences and heartbreak. He knows what we want to hear.
I'm my opinion I think alot of these mainstream artists are trying to replicate zach bryan and some of those simpler but honest writing, again in my opinion.

It’s Tennessee fan, One thing at a time, Days that end in why I’m not tired of the college football songs. I don’t really care about what the songs are about to that much of an extent, more of how they sound. And it would have to be Orange and White, Tennessee Fan, and then waaaay down would be Tennessee orange.

Truth. Tennessee beating Bama in such a big game and it looking so cool and being exciting made being a Tennessee fan cool.
Or because it guarantees him Tennessee college girls

Yes. My favorite out of the 3 so far is "Tennessee Fan", and I can't wait to hear what else Morgan has in store!

Driver Williams is actually part of Eric Church’s band and wrote a lot of Eric’s songs over the years and wrote a couple for Jason Aldean a little bit
One Thing at a Time sounds like a country version of John Mayer's most recent album.
I still prefer Jordan Davis' "first fall Saturday down in Baton Rouge!" Line about my Tigers!
I love how Morgan can dabble into different sound of music and always make it his own!
Grady…. Tennessee beat Alabama in football….. it’s a BIG deal.
