You got yourself a sub. I used to wear a lot of cowboy hats but now I just think it looks to over dressed so I've been looking for a steson crushable just to wear every day during the winter
I love your videos, Kevin! I’ve been watching them for the last few weeks since I came across them looking for hat reviews. I’m obsessed with hats and appreciate you sharing all your knowledge. Love from NZ ❤️
I usually do hats that we have in the shop, I’m unfamiliar w the Jackson, but I know the type of felt. They call it a fur blend but it’s basically wool with a pinch of fur. They’re soft, lightweight. I can’t really review it if I don’t have one here. Next time we order Stetson I’ll suggest that we order it.
Those are older model Stetson light felt hats, like The Bozeman, The Moab, the Santa Fe, a whole series of soft wool felt crushable hats they make that all look very similar, there’s like 7-10 hats that all look the same,so I can’t recall the model. it’s pre pandemic and those hats sold out in about 10 days, I don’t remember the exact model..but there’s a good chance that one is discontinued, they’re always redesigning the litefelt line
Cole Rosselli no way to shape a crushable hat without stiffening it stuff as a board first, just.. not really a thing u wanna do. Use good packing tape, make rings, like dozens of them..wipe the dust off w the tape rings, get the edge of the brim, everything, over and over until every spec is gone, then, go outside and heat the hat over your knee , or over your hip,or your wrist, just beat it out,in the fresh air..get the dust out of the felt like beating an old dusty rug. Do this outside. Keep at it a while, despite how silly it looks. Then air it out, flip open the sweatband, reverse it...and set the hat on its crown, near an open window..let it air out, like clothing on a clothes line, any way u can get the most wind and air without it getting wet or humid.. like near an open window overnight with a fan running on it, on high,do this as much as u can, the campfire smell is hard to get out. But it’ll take a few weeks of doing that..the smell can also be reduced by spraying the felt,(not the leather band or the sweatband)w strong hair spray, OneThin, even coat...seals the smell inside a little, but air it out first, do the air out thing for several days, fan is optional but it helps. U can clean it with the packing tape, that gets all the lint off, after that,u can brush it counterclockwise with a stiff brush, but that doesn’t do as much as the tape, hat brushes don’t really do much on wool felt. Use the tape mostly, U can use a little disposable sanding block for any stains, gently grind them away, it won’t work on deeper stains, only surface stuff .. like a light splash of muddy water, which dries into a dry, sandy spot,u can buff those out.. I take a test, see how deep it is, at in inconspicuous place, if possible,a tiny test..if it comes out,I sand away more..
Hi, Kevin. I know you touched on this in the video, but could you please expound a bit more on why more felt "crushable" hats don't come in FUR FELT versus wool ?
They do but they need to be super super quality to work, the wool ones ate a special strong felt called Lite Felt, produced in a special way just for rolling. Making it in fur felt tends to get a more temperamental hat, thin, curling Felt is common.. Borsalino did it great for a hundred years, but those were $350-550 and that felt is no longer available,so we don't bother with it.until that quality returns at least.. Wool Lite felt works, it's tough,cheap.. flexible... and let’s face it, not everyone wants to crush their $200-350 hat, so they make strong, reliable inexpensive travel hats out of wool to keep prices down. Fur felt crushers don't always work well because they skimp and use too thin felt that curls, because it's expensive..they cut corners, thick, hearty wool felt will hold its shape better than too thin fur felt.. I prefer lite felt for rolling or Borsalino felts (ONLY from at least over 4-5 years ago) the new post bankruptcy products are not included in that statement.. Basically, mid priced $150-250 fur felt crushers are not my favorite.. unfortunately, a lot of companies make them thin these days for cost effectiveness, and that renders them useless in rainy or snowy situations,,they don’t handle rain without curling. Those fur felt crushers are fine dry, but if u want snap in the brim and a nice, sharp looking hat, u keep them dry..they’re thin, soft, w almost no stiffener.. just not built for shape retention..hats like that need to be awesome, awesome quality...and even then, not everyone knows how to make them. Stiffer hats hold shape better, softer hats roll up.. litefelt is a great invention that combines a soft felt with rollability, shape retention and cost effective pricing, they’re amazing, other than those...you are not going to see that many companies making fur felt rollup hats that work well..they work, but they are temperamental as hell in the rain. I’d rather buy the cheaper litefelt wool crushers or the older fur felt ,Italian hats from my collection like my green hats, those crush like a dream, but hats
I’ve been going back and watching your back catalogue of videos. I love this content. You have gotten me obsessed with headwear. I’ve already told you that I bought a Bozeman. You’re part of the reason why. If you want an editor, for volume fixes/cutting and general stuff, I’d edit your videos for free if you’d like.
The Sam Woods Show wow! That’s a nice offer! The old ones were done on a cell phone, but I’m using an iPad Pro and Shure stereo mic now , I may ring u up one day, thanks for the nice offer!
Kev, this is an old vid that popped up on on my UA-cam feed but it’s so Classic Kevin. It has all the entertaining and amusing elements of your personality that make you so much fun to watch.
They’re ok, the Stetson crushable litefelt is not the original patented Litefelt felt, but they’re ok.. fine. It’s a lightweight, soft wool gambler,it should serve you well.
It is a Crushable wool, "Lite Felt" It's not fur felt. U can't really do anything to the crown, it's shaped that way, and wants to always stay that way, because it's Crushable, it'll always go back to the same shape.. it comes only in black.
Is there a way to stiffen up a crushable wool hat? I have the stetson granger and after a few wears in the rain, the crown has sunken in a little bit and brim has a bit less structure . Is there any way to stiffen it back up? 🙏🙏
Eh.. not really. Sometimes steam alone will help. You can dust it with packing tape, remove the lint, spray it with max hold hair spray on the underside of the brim, avoid the sweatband. You can spray the crown, avoid the hat band. Let it dry. But it won’t do a lot, just a little more
Kevin! time for a disclaimer at some point on all these amazing videos... "Hats may or may no longer be available, depending on when you are viewing this" That Pioneer hat looks AMAZING, but appears to be long discontinued.
that video is from 2019. it’s probably discontinued by now. Four year old videos you’ve got to assume the hat is probably gone, unless it’s a real staple hat, most styles get played out in 2-3 years, and are just old styles. Look on our website at new arrivals www.jjhatcenter.com
Is there a way to re stiffen a Crushable hat? Mine are worn in and the creases are kinda weak. When they were new they felt kind of stiff and popped back i to shape easily
MrMagicman00100 yeah, u can.. it works, but not exactly as well as fur felt, u dust it all off with packing tape, cover up the sweatband, and spray the underside of the brim and the crown with an even, light coat of spray, let it dry,repeat..let it dry.. after it dries, u can hit those creased areas w good, hot steam, and hold it in place for 60 seconds, while it cools,
Hey brother. Sorry to ask what ppl have already asked possibly. But the sagebrush crushable.... does the brim have any pop to it? Up or down? I tried the bowman and the crown & brim just wasn't for me. Is it almost exactly the same? Thanks again.
Assuming you meant the Bozeman, not “Bowman” Then yeah, that’s the same hat..there’s like a half dozen similar crushers by them , they’re all the same hat w different bands or subtle differences, same stuff.
I've never personally met a town dandy who rolls his hat up and puts in it a pocket or a gym bag....but I kind of like the Bozeman. I see it as a hat for the woods where a limb knocking it off won't bother me as much as it would were I wearing one of my more expensive fur felt hats.
Yes, you can stretch it, but it will probably shrink back, because most folks are afraid to stretch a hat enough.. the trick is to severely overstretch the hat, because it will shrink back.a lot. and on the other side of the coin..if you do stretch the hat enough, it will heavily distort the look of the hat, it’s a brutal modification and generally when I’m done the hat looks destroyed, and I have to completely reshape the entire hat again..which is a monumental task if u don’t have the right equipment or experience..stretching is VERY tricky… If it has a cloth sweatband, and no receded leather sweatband, you can stretch it over your knee and across your chest, do it a lot, firmly and slowly, lengthwise only..it’ll stretch. If the hat has a leather sweatband, you will need to cut the Reed first,I have videos on cutting the Reed.
I love that the Bozeman comes in other colors besides black. I have the black, but what color is that lighter one? That and the settler are on my list.
KEVIN from JJ HAT CENTER 🎸HATS & GUITARS ! On the website it just says tan. No matter. I ordered one this morning. I really love my Bozeman in black. It's my favorite crushable. Having it in a lighter color makes me happy. Thank you!
U will be incredibly hot, a straw hat is inexpensive, I wouldn’t do it personally, you’ll sweat a lot. And you’ll be uncomfortable, people do it,but it’ll be a mess.
U can't. ☹️ Finger prints,yes..sweat comes from within the hat,not from the outside,u can't buff it out. U can can over the crown stains with a wider band, sorry for the disappointing answer, but u can't clean that.. try accessorizing, something that covers it
Creme no sugar … decaf’s these days though, if u look at my earlier videos I used to be a workaholic/coffee abuser.. u can see how jumpy I was, I had to quit that stuff, nowadays I’ll have a half decaf maybe once or twice a month. I’m already too jumpy without it
Sort of. They can't seem to make that upturned brim snap w the soft felt, they have another model called the route 66 that's essentially ba wool Crushable open road trimmed with a leather band, and a slightly flatter brim. We don't carry it but maybe it'll come in for fall.. im not sure, we ordered Stetsons six months ago
Hey Kevin I just picked up the Bozeman and love it and that outback style. My question to you is what would you recommend for warmer weather? But keeping that Bozeman/outback style?
They make almost the exact same hat, same felt, same everything.. but it has those fold away earflaps, we call it the Stetson Stowe it’s on jjhatcenter, com U can fold the earflaps down when you’re cold, but most of the time, they just tuck inside, out of the way, inside the crown, and u don’t notice it. It has like a fleece ear band inside. during the summer those are mostly gone, we are probably sold out.. those usually arrive in mid September when felt season begins
I’m looking for a hat similar in size and shape to Dorman Pacific Scala classic four season felt . Can you cross to a Stetson or another brand that is close . I’d prefer a Stetson but not a must. Thank you!
I'm not sure, Stetson make 7-8 Crushable wool felt hats that are identical, just different colors, slightly different bands, I'm not sure, those are all sold out,for a while.. they all look the same, same price, It was a while ago . I'm going to guess it's the Stetson Stowe, which is sold out. We sell an identical hat called "The Outback Hat" which is a carbon copy, maybe the band is darker leather.. But they're practically identical. www.jjhatcenter.com
What's the TYPE / STYLE / HAT you got on? I love you for always having the best one on yourself while making these valuable videos for us, much love from Europe! Kudo's
Thanks! Unfortunately the hat I’m wearing is a custom made job from out hatmaker, in our custom workshop. It’s classified as an open crowned , flat brimmed bolero. Colors like that are not very easy to find, unless u go custom. Stetson will be coming out with a lot of flat brimmed, open crowned hats this autumn..
I find the Woolfelt Hats to be warmer then the dressy Fur Felt Hats and Stetson, Dobbs Woolfelt are very attractive Hats. You might want to do a review on their Buffalo Wool Hats? They are awesome Hats too.
Naw, I got it like 7-8 yrs ago, they don't make these now. but we have something coming in this year like it called Ontario in crazy, vivid colors like this, it's almost the same cut, and the new colors are crazy
So I am just below a large size on most of these hats although still trying to figure it out. I ordered the Sturgis Large and Gallatin M, do these hats fall in this category as crushable ? I really like the hat in the middle of the screen look like western but wool. Almost looks like Indian jones hat. Do you know the name of it ?
That’s an inexpensive Stetson wool ,crushable hat.. we have many of them on this rack, they’re all very similar, they have a dozen models that are really the same thing.. the Bozeman,The Sturgis,The Sante Fe, The Stowe, , same shape, same felt, similar bands, brim widths.. except that one model has an extra wide brim, i forgot the name of the model, it’s still on our site, but we are sold out of them, these hats all arrive during the month of October though. We sell a similar model all year round called the Outback Hat and the Stetson versions aren’t available all year, only after October, so they come later.. This hat was the widest brim litefelt crushable hat we ever carried, I forgot the name because it sold out in two weeks,a year ago.. we might have a XL or XXL left, maybe..it’s 12:45am, I’m in bed..otherwise I’d try to search that hats name for u, u can look for it on our site, www.jjhatcenter.com. It’s made by Stetson and it’s crushable wool felt, wider brim width than all the rest, around $125-ish, not sure if it’s coming back this year..there’s a slim chance, hard to say, and
How do Stetson crushable hats tend to run in terms of size? Unfortuantely, there doesn't seem to be any stores nearby that carry them so it looks like I'll have to go online. I'm a 7 1/4 which, according to the Stetson website, would put me at a size large. However, most crushable felt hats that fit me are medium. It seems like I might be right on the edge. Suggestions? Thanks! I'm considering a route 66 specifically if that helps.
Good question, u are technically a large, the smaller end of large, a large is like a 7 3/8 and a medium is a 7 1/8, technically. It depends on how the hat runs, if it runs a little loose the medium will do, but generally I suggest the large and tighten that with one of our $5 sweat bands from our website. That splits the difference perfectly,u wind up in the middle, 7 1/4 , or u can trim the pad smaller to tune it a little looser to fit,.. but it’s usually safer going big, padding down. I’ll be honest, I’m home now and if I were at the shop I’d try one on, we are the same size, u can call me at the shop 8006221911 or just remind me during the day sat or sun, with another one of these comments, I will try one on for u. I don’t know that style, but..some of the cheaper ones run very tight, like crazy tight, I’d go with the large, if u ever have had a hat that’s too small, u NEVER want to do it again, stretching doesn’t work very well, and Hats dehydrate in time, if anything a small hat gets way worse, offhand I’d say go for the large, buy a sweat band from us $5 in case. Definitely if it’s one of the cheaper ones, they are made in Mexico, and run way smaller..
That’s a decent hat, nice. I’d go large and pad it if I were to guess, but u can run it by me tomorrow in a comment,11-6 or Sunday 1-5, while I’m at the store, I’ll try on something similar, let u know for sure. I’m the same size..Or call 800 622 1911 during work hours
Ok, they’re billing that stuff as a crusher, it’s kinda crushable, not totally...it’s like our Stetson Bingham, the same felt, fur blend, like 5% fur or something, but really nice, lined, lightweight, raw edges, and a more fur felt-like looking felt.. I’m not familiar w the exact model, but we have other hats w the same felt, I looked it up, they are soft, but don’t roll it if u want it to stay fresh..but yeah, Stetson does bill that a a crushable hat, I might not actually roll mine though it is soft and flexible Domestic Rabbit Fur and Wool Soft Felt Blend • Crushable Wool Collection • Pinchfront Crown • Brim: Front/Back 2 3/4”, Sides 2 1/2” • Feather Hatband • Buckle Set
Kevin I talked to you on a different video you have. How can I contact you personally instead of UA-cam comments? Want to get a Stetson. Have a couple questions and would like to deal with you and your hat center. I didn’t wanna just email your hat centers Facebook because I wanted to directly go from you.
Send me an email through JJ hats, write “attn Kevin” in the subject line, they’ll forward it to me, I answer a few JJ emails every day, send me an email thrushes shop, and when they forward it to me, I’ll email u directly.
Hi Kevin, do any of the Stetson Crushable hats have a flat bill or generally flat bill? I was looking at the Bozeman or Tahoe can you reshape the bills on them to make them flat?
Scott, those hats are kinda flattish, but not flat.. u cannot reshape them, no.. crushable hats are not flat, in order to have a hat be flat it has to be stiff as a board, VERY stiff, and it needs to be western felt. Not dress felt, and definitely not crushable felt, its impossible, they flop, they’re soft..u can flatten it with an iron, but as soon as u take it off of the tabletop, it’ll look floppy, soft hat cannot hold up its own weight, it must be very, very stiff, our employees love flat brims, they’re constantly stiffening them, ironing them, steaming them..they take upkeep.. and nope, those crushers can’t be flattened, they always want to keep the same shape,
Hi there Kevin... hope you’re doing well and safe this days!!! Is it possible to make a review from “The Route 66” crushable hat??? Btw if you could please let me see the differences from “The Route 66” to the “Open Road Royal Deluxe”... Thank you so much!!! All the best to you 😉 and best regards from Portugal 🙏
Very different. They have the same crown shape, kinda, but that’s it. The 66 is very, very floppy, soft..and the felt kinda does what it wants to do..it’s not really a snap brim, like the open road(which has a brim that snaps up and down, in front and back, like a fedora), most folks keep the brim up on an open road, but it does snap, While a RT 66 brim is sort of flat and floppy, it just sort of lays there like a veal cutlet, it doesn’t curl upward like an O.Road brim, It’s flattish, kinda soft and floppy.. Also, the open road is made of all rabbit fur, it will last very long, and u can reshape it w steam when it falters, the RT 66 u cannot steam back in shape. The royal dlx can also be customized w steam, u can change things, alter them, roll the brim more, pinch it,whatever.. but the RT 66 does what it does, flat brim, soft felt.. it will feel mushier and softer than the open road because it doesn’t have a leather sweatband inside, so it’s lighter and softer, more comfort because there’s no break in process. The open road has a leather band inside so it stays dry, and sanitary, u wipe the sweat off with a bandana,or cloth. While the RT 66 with its cloth sweatband will absorb sweat, stay wet and u cannot wipe the sweat off like a leather sweatband, it just gets funkier and dirty eventually.. There are pros and cons. The open road is more expensive, but the felt is nicer, the overall hat looks way more polished and expensive...and it’ll last longer. The 66 is cheaper, u save money, it’s soft and light. It’s sort of a cheaper, crushable ,wool copy of the open road, with a flatter brim and a leather band.. But the overall look will be different, the O road is more compact and the 66 looks floppy and wider..
@@KTGHATS Hi Kevin hope you’re fine!!! Sorry ... my English isn’t so good 😊 First I just want to say that I really appreciate your channel and great videos and reviews ❤️👏👏👏 Second I would like to thank you so much for this excellent review 🙏 I’m now trying to find my first “serious” hat and I love the Open Road style with that “cattleman crown finish” I think it’s my favourite... love the little fedora’s short brim too but this is one is my favourite Stetson. I love guitars too 🎸 I’ve an American Floyd Rose “Sunburst” Stratocaster from 90’s it’s beautiful 😍 So... it’s all for now!!! Thank you so much and all the best from Portugal 🙏 Keep on this excellent channel 🥂 Rui Miguel Cunha
Patriot Brad it’s a matter of preference, these are lighter, softer, much more flexible, u can fold them up etc.. but a stiff type western, made of fur felt (like a Stetson, resistor etc) will last you much longer, after years of rain, drying in a warm house, a wool crusher May last you 15-20 years total, A good, fur felt “Stiff” western can last 40-50 years, up to a lifetime or often outlives the wearer and is passed down to grandchildren etc, it can also be buffed out and cleaned very well, multiple times in its lifetime, almost indefinitely, as well as reshaped countless times with steam, while a wool felt crusher doesn’t lose its shape much, but it can’t really be cleaned or reshaped much.. hope this helps, happy holidays!
Really appreciate these videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them. I'm curious if you have more information on the beige hat sitting on the 5th shelf -- it's the first hat in the frame completely on that row, near the Stowe's, looks like there are 4 hats in the stack. Do you happen to know the name and if it's crushable? Hoping it is still in stock online.
It’s sold out, crushable just like a Stowe or Bozeman, but a much wider brim, those are gone for now..maybe a size small, I can get the model for u, largest brim wool crusher we sell
KEVIN from JJ HAT CENTER 🎸HATS & GUITARS ! Hi Kevin, I ended up watching a load of your videos in the end and enjoyed them. Great energy and commitment to your trade👍. I just bought a Stetson Amasa Vitafelt in Anthricite, it’s being sent to me here in the UK from Germany! Hope it’s decent for £199 Sterling🤦♂️ keep up the enthusiasm and good work. Cheers
Totally, it's rugged, no need to hide from weather, good protection, popular styling.. I'd say wholeheartedly,"yes" We sell an almost identical hat called "the Stowe" that's essentially a Bozeman w retractable earmuffs inside the crown, u can fold them down to keep the ears warm in winter, or hide them away for regular everyday use. I'd check them both out, the Bozeman has a slightly lower crown,no ear flaps, and it comes in black or a slightly different shade of light brown than the Bozeman, but it's also nice. I like both equally, they're super similar, basically: with flaps (Stowe) or without flaps (Bozeman)
Hey Kevin love the info you provide. Got a question for ya. If you’ve ever seen the show Westworld, the character The Man In Black has an awesome hat I’m wanting to get so I can complete his costume for Halloween. If you wouldn’t mind giving me a second opinion on the hat he wears, I believe the Bingham or the Dune seem to be the closest thing to his but would love your opinion. :)
I'd say the Dune.. or if u want to keep the price down, try The Outback Hat. www.jjhatcenter.com/products/the-outback-hat. It's cheap and rolls for traveling, made in USA.. but yeah, the Dune is closer.
That's understandable.i always try to crush a size small to demonstrate, not one the customer is gonna buy.. But for you... I'll go downstairs and get you a nice, fresh one from the box..
Pubg YT07 u need to call the store or email the store w your exact address, and how many hats u want.. Email info@jjhatcenter.com or call 212 239 4368 They have the UPS software,we can send anything u want.. generally it costs $50 flat fee to ship overseas though..

Yes, the older videos only, all the newer ones are clear with stereo mics, that was back when I had no equipment, but the newer vids are all fine, thanks
I love this guy's passion and energy for hats. He is entertaining and informative!

This had me rolling going through the characters/personalities for the hats😂. Probably a good time with some whiskey great video!

You got yourself a sub. I used to wear a lot of cowboy hats but now I just think it looks to over dressed so I've been looking for a steson crushable just to wear every day during the winter
Idk if you’ll see this, but the Stetson black hawk is a great looking hat

Are these foldable feller? Like making the wings fold how you'd like your own to be
The Chinstrap is really nice in windy Weather. Nice Economy Hats that will hold up to the powerful Rain.
Do you have the Hat like Will Smith wore in the Wild Wild West movie And how much is it?
That’s called a gambler. we have a crushable gambler on black for around $175
Hi Kevin! Love your channel and energy, thanks for these informative videos. Can you do a video about the Stetson Jackson?
I usually do hats that we have in the shop, I’m unfamiliar w the Jackson, but I know the type of felt. They call it a fur blend but it’s basically wool with a pinch of fur. They’re soft, lightweight. I can’t really review it if I don’t have one here.
Next time we order Stetson I’ll suggest that we order it.
What’s the hat directly to your right 5th row down from the top. Brown big brim pinched front.
How do clean a Bozeman? Like dirt and dust, also get bonfire smoke smell out of it.....Is there a way to get more of a curve in the brim too?
Cole Rosselli no way to shape a crushable hat without stiffening it stuff as a board first, just.. not really a thing u wanna do.
Use good packing tape, make rings, like dozens of them..wipe the dust off w the tape rings, get the edge of the brim, everything, over and over until every spec is gone,
then, go outside and heat the hat over your knee , or over your hip,or your wrist, just beat it out,in the fresh air..get the dust out of the felt like beating an old dusty rug.
Use the tape mostly,
U can use a little disposable sanding block for any stains,
gently grind them away, it won’t work on deeper stains,
only surface stuff ..
like a light splash of muddy water, which dries into a dry, sandy spot,u can buff those out..
KEVIN from JJ HAT CENTER 🎸HATS & GUITARS ! No problem. Unless my channel takes off, that’s a standing offer. 😁
Kev, this is an old vid that popped up on on my UA-cam feed but it’s so Classic Kevin. It has all the entertaining and amusing elements of your personality that make you so much fun to watch.
😊 thx!
huge fan of the crushable wool hats
Yeah,they're good.. underrated
Love these hats. I usually wear straw hats but I’m looking for something more casual and these look lovely.
What do you think about the Stetson black hawk
They’re ok, the Stetson crushable litefelt is not the original patented Litefelt felt, but they’re ok.. fine. It’s a lightweight, soft wool gambler,it should serve you well.
So Kevin the settler (around 9:30) is a light fur felt not a wool felt right? Can it be shaped just by pushing on it? oh and is it black or navy?
It is a Crushable wool, "Lite Felt"
It's not fur felt. U can't really do anything to the crown, it's shaped that way, and wants to always stay that way, because it's Crushable, it'll always go back to the same shape.. it comes only in black.
@@KTGHATS Thanks Kevin!
Let it dry. But it won’t do a lot, just a little more
Only two words-beautiful hats.It's a Stetson.
Thank you🙃
Awsome video thank you for taking the time to do this video.
Thanks for taking the time to tell me!😃
Love the hat you wore! What is it??
That’s a custom job made in our workshop!
Kevin! time for a disclaimer at some point on all these amazing videos...
"Hats may or may no longer be available, depending on when you are viewing this"
That Pioneer hat looks AMAZING, but appears to be long discontinued.
that video is from 2019. it’s probably discontinued by now. Four year old videos you’ve got to assume the hat is probably gone, unless it’s a real staple hat, most styles get played out in 2-3 years, and are just old styles.
Look on our website at new arrivals
www.jjhatcenter.com
Is there a way to re stiffen a Crushable hat? Mine are worn in and the creases are kinda weak. When they were new they felt kind of stiff and popped back i to shape easily
MrMagicman00100 yeah, u can.. it works, but not exactly as well as fur felt, u dust it all off with packing tape, cover up the sweatband, and spray the underside of the brim and the crown with an even, light coat of spray, let it dry,repeat..let it dry.. after it dries, u can hit those creased areas w good, hot steam, and hold it in place for 60 seconds, while it cools,
@@KTGHATS Thanks so much!
I think you were right the first time; the hat is called The Pioneer. Also, it doesn’t seem to be listed on your website.
Those are long since sold out, that’s why..they sell lightning fast ,we never seem to get enough to last a few months,.no matter how many we order.
I've never personally met a town dandy who rolls his hat up and puts in it a pocket or a gym bag....but I kind of like the Bozeman.
I see it as a hat for the woods where a limb knocking it off won't bother me as much as it would were I wearing one of my more expensive fur felt hats.
I want one of each 😂
Quick question:
Can a wool fedora hat be stretched with steam ????
( I have an old wool fedora that is now too tight ).
Thanks 🤠
@@KTGHATS Thanks So Much !!! Always helpful 🙏♥️🤠
I love that the Bozeman comes in other colors besides black. I have the black, but what color is that lighter one? That and the settler are on my list.
It's like between light Brown and beige, forgot the name of the color
KEVIN from JJ HAT CENTER 🎸HATS & GUITARS ! On the website it just says tan. No matter. I ordered one this morning. I really love my Bozeman in black. It's my favorite crushable. Having it in a lighter color makes me happy. Thank you!
Can you wear Stetson wool hat in Texas summer
U will be incredibly hot, a straw hat is inexpensive, I wouldn’t do it personally, you’ll sweat a lot. And you’ll be uncomfortable, people do it,but it’ll be a mess.
Seems like you had a few hundred cups of coffee already 😅
Yeah, I was a workaholic, wayy too much coffee, the old videos I look pretty skitzed out! I cut down since then.
Kevin how do you remove sweat stains from a Stetson open road?
U can't. ☹️ Finger prints,yes..sweat comes from within the hat,not from the outside,u can't buff it out. U can can over the crown stains with a wider band, sorry for the disappointing answer, but u can't clean that.. try accessorizing, something that covers it
Cream and sugar or black just curious
Creme no sugar … decaf’s these days though, if u look at my earlier videos I used to be a workaholic/coffee abuser.. u can see how jumpy I was, I had to quit that stuff, nowadays I’ll have a half decaf maybe once or twice a month. I’m already too jumpy without it

Is there an open road crushable hat?
Can’t wait!
Isn't the ear flaps hat called the snowden?
We have an ear flap hat by Stetson called The Stowe
Hey Kevin I just picked up the Bozeman and love it and that outback style. My question to you is what would you recommend for warmer weather? But keeping that Bozeman/outback style?
They make almost the exact same hat, same felt, same everything.. but it has those fold away earflaps, we call it the Stetson Stowe it’s on jjhatcenter, com
U can fold the earflaps down when you’re cold, but most of the time, they just tuck inside, out of the way, inside the crown, and u don’t notice it.
It has like a fleece ear band inside.
during the summer those are mostly gone, we are probably sold out.. those usually arrive in mid September when felt season begins
KEVIN from JJ HAT CENTER 🎸HATS & GUITARS ! Thank you for the info!!
I’m looking for a hat similar in size and shape to Dorman Pacific Scala classic four season felt . Can you cross to a Stetson or another brand that is close . I’d prefer a Stetson but not a must. Thank you!
This is the hat you want, made in USA, and we have sold it for over 25 years, very reliable. www.jjhatcenter.com/products/the-outback-hat
Great video! What's the name of the light brown large brimmed hat that is the 5th hat to the left on the 5th shelf down from the top?
Great video
Thank you,!!
I find the Woolfelt Hats to be warmer then the dressy Fur Felt Hats and Stetson, Dobbs Woolfelt are very attractive Hats. You might want to do a review on their Buffalo Wool Hats? They are awesome Hats too.

What kind of hat are you wearing ?..i like that one ..do yall sell it... i want to buy one
Naw, I got it like 7-8 yrs ago, they don't make these now.
but we have something coming in this year like it called Ontario in crazy, vivid colors like this, it's almost the same cut, and the new colors are crazy
@@KTGHATS i want an ontario with a crazy vivid color. When is a good time to call the store to buy it ?
@@KTGHATS I understand it is not available, but what is the brand & "model"/style?
So I am just below a large size on most of these hats although still trying to figure it out. I ordered the Sturgis Large and Gallatin M, do these hats fall in this category as crushable ? I really like the hat in the middle of the screen look like western but wool. Almost looks like Indian jones hat. Do you know the name of it ?
Those are both crushable lite felts & almost identical
Stetson has issues w sizing being inconsistent
Hey Kevin what’s the hat on the bottom shelf to the left with the big flat brim?
That’s an inexpensive Stetson wool ,crushable hat.. we have many of them on this rack,
they’re all very similar, they have a dozen models that are really the same thing..
the Bozeman,The Sturgis,The Sante Fe, The Stowe, , same shape, same felt, similar bands, brim widths..
except that one model has an extra wide brim, i forgot the name of the model, it’s still on our site, but we are sold out of them, these hats all arrive during the month of October though. We sell a similar model all year round called the Outback Hat
and the Stetson versions aren’t available all year, only after October, so they come later..
It’s made by Stetson and it’s crushable wool felt, wider brim width than all the rest, around $125-ish, not sure if it’s coming back this year..there’s a slim chance, hard to say, and
Hey Kevin, what's the price for the orlo?
www.jjhatcenter.com/products/the-stetson-arlo
Id like to see info on the gallatian!!
If we ordered it,I'll review it!! New stuff is pouring in this month and next month
I’m the same size..Or call 800 622 1911 during work hours
i cant see the woolworth online
They’re gone, sold out..if every color, and every size is gone, we generally delete the style..
Nice. Is the Jackson rollable/crushable?
No idea,we don't sell it😉 sorry, maybe the other poster will chime in
Ok, they’re billing that stuff as a crusher, it’s kinda crushable, not totally...it’s like our Stetson Bingham, the same felt, fur blend, like 5% fur or something, but really nice, lined, lightweight, raw edges, and a more fur felt-like looking felt.. I’m not familiar w the exact model, but we have other hats w the same felt, I looked it up, they are soft, but don’t roll it if u want it to stay fresh..but yeah, Stetson does bill that a a crushable hat, I might not actually roll mine though it is soft and flexible

Not dress felt, and definitely not crushable felt, its impossible, they flop, they’re soft..u can flatten it with an iron, but as soon as u take it off of the tabletop, it’ll look floppy, soft hat cannot hold up its own weight, it must be very, very stiff, our employees love flat brims, they’re constantly stiffening them, ironing them, steaming them..they take upkeep.. and nope, those crushers can’t be flattened, they always want to keep the same shape,
@@KTGHATS Thank you for your reply and I totally get what you're saying. Really enjoy your videos and the information you provide.
The 66 is very, very floppy, soft..and the felt kinda does what it wants to do..it’s not really a snap brim, like the open road(which has a brim that snaps up and down, in front and back, like a fedora), most folks keep the brim up on an open road, but it does snap, While a RT 66 brim is sort of flat and floppy, it just sort of lays there like a veal cutlet, it doesn’t curl upward like an O.Road brim,
It’s flattish,kinda soft and floppy..
Sorry ... my English isn’t so good 😊

Hey Kevin, I’m from a pretty windy area and work cows a lot, would these hats be better than the stiff regular felt cowboy hats?
Patriot Brad it’s a matter of preference, these are lighter, softer, much more flexible, u can fold them up etc.. but a stiff type western, made of fur felt (like a Stetson, resistor etc) will last you much longer, after years of rain, drying in a warm house, a wool crusher May last you 15-20 years total,
A good, fur felt “Stiff” western can last 40-50 years, up to a lifetime or often outlives the wearer and is passed down to grandchildren etc, it can also be buffed out and cleaned very well, multiple times in its lifetime, almost indefinitely, as well as reshaped countless times with steam,
while a wool felt crusher doesn’t lose its shape much, but it can’t really be cleaned or reshaped much..
hope this helps, happy holidays!

I've been a fan for awhile and I know how busy you are, but would you recommend a Bozeman for a good everyday hat?
Totally, it's rugged, no need to hide from weather, good protection, popular styling.. I'd say wholeheartedly,"yes"
We sell an almost identical hat called "the Stowe" that's essentially a Bozeman w retractable earmuffs inside the crown,
u can fold them down to keep the ears warm in winter,
or hide them away for regular everyday use.
I'd check them both out, the Bozeman has a slightly lower crown,no ear flaps, and it comes in black or a slightly different shade of light brown than the Bozeman, but it's also nice.
I like both equally, they're super similar, basically:
with flaps (Stowe)
or
without flaps (Bozeman)
