I had a couple of the older p1500.1 amps and they were beasts. Had 4 30a fuses so probally didnt do quite rated. But well built amp for the money.
All your videos are great. Thanks for testing head units, subs, components, and amps. Getting back into the hobby and finding your videos have made all the difference. #hifi the 80prs killer was my favorite because you sold me on getting the head unit!

liked the video , have had a set of crunch subs since the late 90's and refoamed them and am still using them in home set up . the best video you had was one where you showed the cables flexing because of so much power going through them . thanks big john
I had a pair of 12's get stolen out of a storage unit. Still sour about it! Their amps were pretty amazing as well back then!
They used to be good in 90's its not the same though

I've always liked crunch, when I was a kid I had a pair of crunch tens and a crunch 250 watt amp, and it rattled the whole car, people's windows, and had everyone mad at me, 😂
Yeah my first subs were crunch cr10’s
I had crunch 12's. With the bright pink letters. Lol. And crunch 50c. I had them until I started working at car audio shop after high school. Then I had two Hermosa 150 amps on two JL audio 12's.

the bottom plate is bowed llike that to help cancel some if not all of vibrational rattlng....it kinds of acts like a spring washer.. which also maintains ttension stay on screws so they are less liking the possibility of backing out....keeping enough spring as to not to leave gaps bettweent the designated plate screws if theres mating issues ....the plate if thin aslo would warp if it didnt have a slight roll ... once unscrewed...so overall ....its actually a small but needed improvenent over later design cues.....you stated that you were intrigued at the removed appearance of plate.....
My fav video is actually the newest one u did on 1/0 power wire! # Find the best value 1/0 OFC. I LOVE seeing the savards flex! Never heard rap had a hi-q tho. How would u define thhe diff in the 2 Vega?
Both are good for heavy bass, but the HI-Q has a lol more of everything

Surprised the amp is actually a good value. Don’t know if I would advertise my using it with that sticker though. My favorite videos are the ones testing rare old amps or otherwise not typically tested amps, like this Crunch.

I had a crunch 2000.1 on a Avatar SST 301D2 in my old Chevy truck. Then put it on two Kicker Cvr 10s in an under seat box. Everyone but me loved that system 🤣 That amp was tough, just didn't do rated.
Sometimes something inexpensive will do the trick!

Had a crunch p1 600.2 back when running a kicker comp 12" in a 1 cu.ft. box in my 1993 del sol. I swear that fucker hit harder than many of the more expensive stuff I owned in the later years. it was claimed when bridged at 4ohm (which is how I ran it) that it would produce 300w rms and 600w peak. dunno how true it was. BUT I DO REMEMBER that I had the gain turned ALL THE WAY DOWN. I didn't know about amp tuning back then, all I knew is that when I turned the gain up the sound would get muddy and eventually the protect light would come on. so I always left it turned all the way down. EVEN THEN, that fucker used to bump.... my buddy used to always say "I can hear you coming down the street" which was about 3 blocks away. loved that little setup. never had anything that sounded as good. I had another 12" sub later on, and then eventually two cerwin vega's in a ported box (horrible sounding) and even a pioneer in a t-line box that sounded okay but nothing ever beat that sweet sweet sealed enclosure. my next build will go back to doing sealed.

It’s not rated at 1ohm mono so I didn’t test it for power. I could have gotten clamped power with the 1ohm sub but with rise it wouldn’t have been a true 1ohm test

What impedance are you running it at?
@@HifiVega I really don't know about the wiring of the amp, I have the speakers bridged on the outer power, the speakers are wired with one negative terminal to a positive and then the other positive and negative leading to the amp connection, I know the amp comes for 1, 2 and 4 ohms but the speakers are 4 + 4 ohms. It's hard to say which episode is my favorite but I enjoyed the top 5 amps for under $200. That video made me go out and buy the pioneer amp which is now $285 I do believe. Also when are you and big d going to do 12volt talk again? And Question I have for the Crunch amp is, What makes this amp so inefficient?

I've owned 3 Crunch amps, different than what you had but they were reliable. Do they do rated power? NO but do they bump doe? Yes
You speak the truth sir. I have owned the Blackmaxx 2250 for Subs. I also used the power zone 4125& GP1400. 4 for mids and highs
