Great video👍If i were building a sq system in say Momas car It would be a Rockford T-500 for lows and a T-400 for mids & highs. The T series are beutiful amps too.
I’m trying to get wheelie to sell me his T3002 as we speak, I miss mine. So so much, keeping fingers crossed, I bet I can pull a 150 dB with it in my Mitsubishi… I’ve already pulled a 146.8 with the t3002 and 2 Memphis subs in a 94 accord. I just know I can pull a 150 out of it with my car that is literally the best designed car for audio that I’ve owned. Maybe he’ll show me a little ❤️
@@BericBuilds I'm thinking really hard about swappin out my prime 1200 with a T-1000 the T series is way under rated they'll do double power dynamic at 1 ohm.
@@edud8452 do it!!! I’ve installed every single silver old school T series from 2000s, from the 3002-to multiple t4000’s…and multiple of most, I always made it a point to show the customer Fosgates birth sheet, not only as a selling point, but as proof of the quality of product matching the quality of install… and EVERY SINGLE AMP that I opened back then came with way more than it’s rating on box… some were even multiple hundreds of watts difference and in my opinion that should be what any successful amp company should strive for. When a electronic device can’t even meet the ratings it’s sold as… then how can that be a good investment with as many companies that out there competing for your money and time. RF was my juice back at Sound Advice USA… RF/JL/Alpine and Memphis. Then we got rid of RF and Memphis, picked up focal/mosconi. I have not had much play time with the newer T series stuff, and only got to install a couple T1’s and T2’s. Still want to put hands on a T3.
How about full bridge amp compression. I myself have a sundown sfb1000 and a b2 audio riot1200. I can say there are huge differences in sound and power between the two.
I’d love to, but I just don’t have enough personal experience with a lot of different full bridge amps yet. As I get more experience with them I will definitely consider it.
@@HifiVega these are my first two the b2 audio plays every frequency between low 20 and up with precision, the sfb wil kinda get a little muddy in the low 20s and gets better as the frequency comes up. I feel like that kicker is probably the best of your picks for what you get :) but I would have liked to see the fosgate R2 on that list, fosgate for life!
I have tried to find a better amp for the money, but I can't give up my Kicker KXA amps. At 1ohm, they are listed at "+ or - 10%" of the 2-ohm RMS rating, but they definitely put out more power when you run them at 1 ohm. I have the sub channel of a KXA800.5 and a KXA400.1 wired on each coil of a DVC sub rated at 1000 watts and with the gains matched I get 400 "+ or - 10%" W RMS on each coil, perfectly matched with the gain setup, plus the wireless bass knob is linked to both sub channels and controls both at the same time without any issues. Kicker put a lot of value in those amps, AND they sound great too.
Looking for a 1,500 to a 2,000 watt sub amp for my truck. I have a RF t750bd now and jl Vxi 600/6 on my minds and highs now. I would like the kicker kxa 1,600.1 but I don’t know if I want to buy a refurbished amp. Any suggestions?

Everytime i buy kicket kx amp or even a L5. Hifis product will cum durable but a kx 600.1 refurbished sounded like 50 watts vs kx400.1 from best buy. This was like 16 years ago. No way are any of those amps comparable with the audio control. SQ wise anyways . It's all about signal to noise ratio (distortion) except for the gladen.
Eh don't want to troll or bitch or something but, sound quality really isn't that important when it comes to sub amps...the only real statistics that needs be "good" is the damping factor and the power output...
Dampening factor isn’t really even a factor in today’s amps, but a quality pre amp and better output filters do make a difference and if you notice I didn’t list an amp over 1500 watts
@@HifiVega I am more like, the pre amp is in the radio/processor...And the only thing i want a sub amp to do is control the woofer..And play between 10 hz and maybe 100 hz...And with 400 watts at 4ohm a decent party can be had..
@@HifiVega And the Gladen amp is surely the best amp on this list...I had the x-ion 275.2 or something like that...that was a beast..also the subs are awesome..
The damping factor is really an underappreciated subjective ACID test for sub amps. Why? Watch how clean the amp sounds especially when subjected to larger diameter subs in ported Configuration. Most amps will need fall short in how cleanly Large diameter subs are " controlled"
@@HifiVega you mean class D on highs and mids? Cuz D on subs i have no problem at all, but anything else not good enough for me! If you like how they sound more power to you bro!
Yeah, he's raving about all the DSP functions, which are only useful for masking your bad sub. If done right, you shouldn't need to tweak, at least for true SQ.
@@drumsmoker731 I can’t disagree more with you. The car is probably the worst environment for proper music setup. Basically you need tons of dsp to make it sound right!

Running front stage Alpine X-series 6x9 components and rear Alpine R-series 6.5. Haven't decided on sub size and how many yet for under rear seat....any ideas????
The Kicker KX line is now discontinued.
Will be replaced with a new line called LX in 2021. It will be a KX and Q class mix.
Why not test the Mmats M600.1 amplifier interested in purchasing one but want to see how they fare against others?
Honestly surprised Some JL amp didn't make it to the list. With that being said i believe you did pick probably the best qmps for the Sq job
JL almost got an honorable mention as well as RF
It's probably just a price point issue with JL. I ran JL for years and they were some great sounding amps.
@@HifiVega Zapco.... ZAPCO.. XAPCO.... ZAPCO.. I Dunno which one but there's gotta be at least one that's legit under 500$
I have ran Arc Audio in my R34 Skyline for like 8+ years now, Highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about SQ.
Sick car!
Damn, R34 Skyline is my dream
I got a kicker kxa 800.. got it in a bundle from offerup.. after selling the sub I bought my final cost.. $15 for the amp! Only problem is I don't have the remote.. and they are NOT for sale anywhere..
I sold them amp for around $200. It didn't work with my sub/box at the time. I probably would have kept it if I had the remote.
Yeah I'm with you HiFi I still love kicker they were my first two systems... Awww, a moment of silence and remembrance to honor the legend of kicker that was Steve irbys brain child...
I know I'm late but the audison sr 1.500 amp would be a good one to review. Not alot of people use it but they should. It hits hard and sounds great.
Great video👍If i were building a sq system in say Momas car It would be a Rockford T-500 for lows and a T-400 for mids & highs. The T series are beutiful amps too.
RF fo lyfe!
What’s everyone thoughts on the Memphis Audio VIV 400.4?
Maybe us acoustics . Mike 1500.1 or d'amore engineering clean d 1000.1. maybe not on this list . But sounds way cleaner than there price tag leads on.
The US Acoustics are nice amps fo sho
How about full bridge amp compression. I myself have a sundown sfb1000 and a b2 audio riot1200. I can say there are huge differences in sound and power between the two.
I’d love to, but I just don’t have enough personal experience with a lot of different full bridge amps yet. As I get more experience with them I will definitely consider it.
@@HifiVega these are my first two the b2 audio plays every frequency between low 20 and up with precision, the sfb wil kinda get a little muddy in the low 20s and gets better as the frequency comes up. On the other hand the b2 is a 1200rms amp that I've clamped 971 watts on my sfb1000 I clamped 1,267 watts on
What features make a sub amp SQ vs SPL?
Better pre amps more output filtering sometimes a more tightly regulated power supply.
Along with better opamps better snr, channel separation, damping factor
High dynamic power . Something I look fore in a sq amp. Makes musical peaks in tracks come to life
@@paulgood2218
Know of any that'll push 1k+ watts?
I thought D'amore would've made the list forsure.. im rockin a Concept HA-704 and a Concept CA-525m and I love the quality they put out.
Great video!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching
Audio dynamics make great products they are in the sound quality world i have a all audio dynamics system and people are so shocked at how good the speakers are and the subs a nice as well
Yessir! A lot of folks don’t know about AD, but they should.
How about a 5 channel amp to run one sub and 4 high range front speakers...I don't see too many people out there doing some videos on a 5 ch amp..
Hi brother. Are there any SQ amps under $200?
No Zapco?? But maybe priced out. 🤷
The 1000xm is around $440, but I honestly haven’t been impressed with them sound or power wise.
@@HifiVega that's fair. I brought them up because Zapco is found in sq champions list every single year going way back to now, but I'm seeing more arc and hybrid audio lately last few years. Hope Zapco not changing, selling out, or falling off the block. I've used most of their older stuff not newer lately. Good Vid though Vega, SQ gets put aside alot, but I guess spl is where the big sales money is, lol. Thanks again
@@2wheelninja yeah a lot of folks have been using their equipment so I guess they speak for themselves
@@HifiVega but hey I agree with your list, not knocking you in any way. good work on that! I don't disagree with any of it, good research and thanks for sharing with us. 😁
@@2wheelninja oh yeah fo sho man! Me and Zapco have a sorted past lol
I don't have any "SQ" amps but I can say I've discovered running slot of headroom improves sound exponentially, I had a pioneer 9701 on it my xr 15s then I upped to a AP 1800 sound increased alot even at low volumes I moved to cab45 once again same deal way fuller, my 9701 had made it to my car with a custom 10" it's a solid 1000w sub when I bought the cab for my van I put the AP 1800 in my car replacing the gm 9701 wow what a difference! It sounds killer now. Now the 9701 going in my truck replacing a toro r2 Haven't tried that out it will prob kill the little skar ix10 tho... Prob should keep the r2 in there if I want the kill skar to live.
What's your opinion on the DS 18 amps?
Haven’t gotten a chance to use any yet
I feel like this was directed at me… SQ build + a little extra available POWAH on the bass side FTW
As always… thank you for your dedication and time you put into this. I may joke around sometimes… but I was looking forward to buying you a few beers at Kfest! 😔nothing but respect audio-brethren! Keep up the great content. Love seeing you grow and expand, as well as your audience base. I hope it starts really paying off financially so you could work less hours at your regular job, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time brother! ✌️
I own two kicker ZX amps a ZX 1000.1 and a ZX 2500. 1 what do you think about these.
Great amps fo sho! I wish they looked a bit cooler tho lol
I wish more people would do reviews on Masconi or Gladen amps
They’re so spendy I suspect that’s why you don’t see many
Can the audiocontrol do what the epicenter does where it creates bass that isn't in a song? Or that's separate?
I believe that’s separate

Whats your take on Sundown SALT 1700.5 as SQ amp for running Morel Hybrids 602.
I haven’t had any experience with the salt amps so I couldn’t say.

Thanx Rob ! / how bout 4/5 Chan sq amps
Def on the to do list
Nice video my friend
Thanks
I feel like that kicker is probably the best of your picks for what you get :) but I would have liked to see the fosgate R2 on that list, fosgate for life!
Almost added the RF T650.1
Depends on your budget, but I’d consider the Audiocontrol LC-1 1.1500, Kicker KXA 1600 or 2400, RF Power 1500
Check out the JL RD1500/1 It's a large amp (14-5/8" long)
Waiting for the 1000w review
I like the rockville krypton M3 amp.
I STILL HAVE MY OLD SCHOOL 2 ESX Q175.2 ... ..I WILL NEVER SELL MY BAD BOYS...ABOUT 2 YRS AGO I PICK UP ARC AUDIO X2 2500.1 LET ME TELL YOU IT'S A MONSTER 6-40 AMP TOTAL 240 VERY CLEAN POWER ....PAYED $1300.00
Do best 4ch SQ amps under 500 dollars
The JL RD500/1 is only $349 as of 8/23/21 and sounds great.
I got the JL RD1500/1 version
@@throwback_jackson I really wanted to go with RD1500/1 but I just don't have the room. The RD500/1 paired well with the 10TW1-4 subs I went with.
@@promodmerc o ok cool I love this amp this probably the 2nd best amp I ever owned I also got the 4 channel to go with it
I just don't see how the arc audio is above the kicker kicker has the better features it's cheaper it's going to have more output and a better bass knob The Arc is just plain
When you get into the more sound quality focused gear it’s less about features and more about the quality and refinement of each component
Everytime i buy kicket kx amp or even a L5. Hifis product will cum durable but a kx 600.1 refurbished sounded like 50 watts vs kx400.1 from best buy. This was like 16 years ago. Hell i even ordered KX 1200.1 only bcuz it said NEW so what arrives? A kicker SX1250.1 it was all digital n i barely new ohms but kicker made it good enough to where it would last atleast a year before it said SERVICE on the screen. Had it on 2 12 L7 2004 model i guess. Honestly the last great solobaric made trust me i go threw em like butter.

Basically in short I'd b carefull on vouching for them Mr. HiFi Vega.. Nd again this was 17 year ago. N all i was sayin is i wouldnt buy refurbbed.
Arc audio is were is at
No way are any of those amps comparable with the audio control. SQ wise anyways .
It's all about signal to noise ratio (distortion) except for the gladen.
"I don't know what to do with my hands"
😂😂 indeed
Infinity Kappa K $399.00
Rockville beats them all .
Top 5 SQ coaxial speakers
Class D amp for SQ? No mate, nope!
I was the same way for the longest time until I got out and started listening to these new cars winning comps with all class d amps.
@@drumsmoker731 no need to tweak????? In a car environment?
@@drumsmoker731 I can’t disagree more with you. The car is probably the worst environment for proper music setup. Basically you need tons of dsp to make it sound right!
You should test real SQ amps. Class AB or class A only.
There are less than 5 true class a amps available in car audio at this moment and you need to look at the SQ winners equipment… How many multiple time champions are running class ab?
Dude stop with the restless hands....
