    Those fruit trees will pay dividends in a few years when they get bigger.
    Always good to see updates like these.

    Fruit trees - they will come ! What a great vegetable garden. Hint for the edges of the garden beds - vinegar sprayed on the weeds when the sun is on them especially good. Gone in 24 hours ...

    You have an amazing variety of things growing in your garden! It looks like the garden is wet, especially in the paths between the rows, have you had a lot of rain?

    Wow, I am so glad to see your improvements and amazing garden. You have made so much progress. You certainly are on your way to being totally self sufficient. Do you need to grow an abundance of potatoes for the chickens in addition to your supply?

    Are you growing the single dahlias, for pollinating, or the cut-flower multi-petal varieties? If the latter, beware the church ladies becoming your New Best Friends when its Harvest Festival and the church needs decorating - you’ll have not a bloom left 🥳

      Two of my favorite cut flowers. It is amazing such a little thing as a vase of flowers offering so much appreciation.

    The garden is looking great! What is a 'cover crop'?

    • @thebridgemanscottage
      @thebridgemanscottage  Рік тому +2

      A cover crop is something you plant to have roots alin the ground and leaves to shade the soil to keep your vegetable bed healthy. It's not for harvesting crops out of although you could. So for me I've planted peas, and once they flower I'll remove them from the bed to stop them producing peas.

    Have you got some butterfly netting for your brassicas? Cabbage whites can wreak havoc on the cabbage family. You probably already know, just a heads up.

    • @thebridgemanscottage
      @thebridgemanscottage  Рік тому +1

      Yes I have nets over the broccoli and winter cabbage 👍 had a big problem without the net last year so lesson learned!

    Like everthing Kyle it takes Time to bear fruit, looking good, do you have problems with cats digging veg beds up to use as a toilet, also rabbits, foxes etc digging beds up

    • @thebridgemanscottage
      @thebridgemanscottage  Рік тому +1

      I had the cat use it as a toilet on the first day, I tried citronella spray to keep here away but she didn't care. So I've put a net up around the veg patch and nothing goes in there except me
