- Video from the 1986 Andrés Segovia masterclass final student recital at USC, Bovard Auditorium. Please excuse the low volume and the sketchy video editing. That's the way it came! Playing my old 1976 Miguel Rodriguez churchdoor guitar, "La Guinavera".
Magnificent! And it was just one year later that we lost our beloved Maestro Andres Segovia.
Maestro, thank you for preserving the rich classical guitar traditions bestowed upon you from Segovia, the Romero's, and for continually passing it on through your dedication in properly training students, and the conservatories you lead for those to follow in kind. La musica at its finest in your craft Sir.
He sure knows how to pump the nylon.
Lovely playing Scott. That Rodriguez guitar just sings!!!
Simply beautiful ♥️
Beautiful playing, so musical!
Jeez, I'd forgotten we were ever that young!!
Lovely sound and beautiful phrasing.
Great audio, great interpretation!
He was always great. Musicality!
Fantastic!
Omg that beautiful tone
Great playing. And hair too! :-)
that is so well played!
A very good job!
Bravo!!
素晴らしい‼
Bravo Scott !
Wow! Cool 😎 didn't know that you were there. Do you know Mary Ackerman? She played in the master class and was my last guitar teacher.
The action is low on the strings. But Scott is brilliant. I have his Rodrigo album.
Wery good!
Man. I love Scott's playing. This thing about him and Barrueco that is just magic. It goes beyond playing clean and perfect. It's a matter of taste and sensitivity I guess.
❤
Wonder why the camera goes to the wall for a bit hahah
👏👏👏👏
Fantastic performance, I wonder what Segovia thought of him
wow, that Miguel Rodriguez guitar sounds damn solid and clear tone. I love it very much. What Segovia had to say about your playing of this song? I thought your sitting height was too low for you to hold the guitar in a proper posture? what was the second song you played? I never hear this tune.
Looks like Parkening is there too.
Can someone kindly tell the piece name at 5.03-7.05? Thx in advanced
Por ti mi corazon from Three Popular Mexican Songs by M. Ponce.
I see Parkening sitting in the front row near Segovia, but why none of their feedback?
Segovia died a year after this. In 1987, I had a ticket to see Segovia play guitar in Eugene Oregon, but he died on me before the concert took place. Can I ever forgive him?
Scott playing in front of the two greatest guitarists ever. No pressure!
Segovia clapped 45 times. I counted.
lorem ipsum He's better than either of them, I think.
His Mom and Brother were nice people.
hello Maestro, what´s the first ´piece name?
Could you put the names of the pieces in the description?
PONCE Valse and 3 Mexican songs
Oh oh, is that one single piece called "3 Mexican Songs"? I thought that you were playing three separate Mexican pieces :D
@@garfieldnate The three pieces are "La Pajarera", "Por ti mi corazón" and "La valentina"
Boy, look at all that hair! You were a good looking kid. The guitar playing sounds as good too.
He is still good looking today.
Why doesn’t he clap?
見事なもんだね。
It is extremely important to see ads during a nice musical performance; unreal.
9:10 Oops!
