I've always played right handed. A lot of lefties p!at right handed. I can't imagine taking/ giving lessons the other way. I mean, our hands are still wired to the same sides of our brain, right? A lefty paying right handed makes for a strong lead player. Right handed guitars always seemed natural to me.

I actually started playing guitar on a cheap fender strat right-handed model , and for the first few months , i wasn't making that much progress . Then one day i thought " hmm , i have more strengh and dexterity in my right hand cause i'm right handed , would it be better if i try to play like hendrix and cobain , left handed ? " . But yeah , less choice in guitars , more expensive , kinda sucks sometimes , but all that matters in the end is the pleasure to play , you can't definitly buy that
Same. Only I’m left handed and went to right handed playing. Looks like I just narrowly escaped the financial burden that came with left position *phew*
I didn't know Kurt was righty, primarily. When I was a kid, I remember holding my first toy guitar lefty, even though I was right handed. My parents would tell me to hold it the other way, which is weird now, since 1/2 my family (father and 2 sisters) are lefties. In grade school music class, when we got to ukuleles, I held mine lefty again and the teacher "corrected" me again. It just didn't feel right. I'm still right handed with everything and I don't play guitar, but whenever I hold one, lefty feels WAAAYYYYY more natural. I really wanna learn lefty to see how I'd play. Or maybe I can learn right & left so I can get one of those heart guitars like in David Lee Roth's video, "Just Like Paradise"

I’m left handed but pay guitar right handed. My first instrument was a right handed bass that my best friend gave to me. That may of forced me to play that way, but idk it always just felt more comfortable using my dominant hand to navigate the fretboard and my weaker hand for picking.
I noticed when I started listening I saw a picture of his guitar something seemed weird and I realised he was a lefty and here’s a fact Kurt and krist would go to pawn shops and they would try and find left handed and right handed guitars to flip and Krist still does it to this day in memory of kurt
@@jack0609 Kurt was right-handed but played left-handed, which explains why he wrote with his right hand, had the pedals on the right side, and destroyed guitars with his right arm

As a left handed guitarist, it was difficult learning if I was going to be left or right handed. I spent probably a week or two going from my dad's left handed schecter to my aunt's right handed solid body Gibson. I eventually got my current guitar which is an Ibanez GRX70QA blue left handed. Always nice to recognize southpaws, but don't forget that some simply flip a righty guitar and play upside down, while others flip the guitar and the strings for a true mirrored guitar. I'd add Marc Bonilla to the list
I play lefty, but I write right handed... Like Cobain, I just learned that way. My thought process was: If I'm right handed, why not use my dominant hand to do the hard work, fretting?
Speaking as a totally right handed guy, except dealing cards and opening bottles it seems
normal to use your dominant hand to do the hard work. I have a lot more power in it. I play left-handed because that is how I first picked up the guitar and it felt totally natural.
I just change my right hand guitar string order and it works great for me
What a terrific video! Learning to play as a lefty, so it inspired me. Thanks!
