You know after watching this video for the 3rd time (yes, I'm obsessed) I wanted to tell you that I have never liked mid-century modern and hated the 70's...until you Laura! I feel that's a testament to your decorating talent. I am now in love with Mid-Century AND even love some of the 70's stuff! You are very talented girl!
Yeah, after being a teenager/young adult in the 70’s, I had a deep aversion to the colors and styles of home goods from the era. I’m still not in love with it, but with Laura’s decorating enthusiasm, I can at least tolerate it, and some of it I almost find attractive now! 😅
Auntwestly is correct! The sterling silver fork is a baby fork. Grande Baroque (1941) is the pattern. Wallace is the manufacturer. I grew up eating holiday meals on this pattern. My family owned a jewelry store in Montana and sold a lot of sterling silver patterns. Laura, I love the how you share curiosity and learning about vintage art in multiple forms! I love the positivity and joy you radiate as you create and connect with people!
Girl - you are living a fun-filled, jam-packed life and it sure looks good on you. You just radiate happiness. And I squeal at great thrift finds too!😊
Thank you so much! It feels amazing to not hold myself back from any of my passions! After a decade trying to conceive and feeling like life was incomplete and missing something, it feels sooooo good to have realized that it’s perfect the way it is. It was all right there just waiting for me to see it! Thank you for the love and encouragement! ❤️
Option 2. Love all your styling tips. Suggestion for the curtain tie backs: use them to display fabric over your staging table, Triangle style. One high in the middle and one on each side. Drape fabric over and easy to swap out. I use an antique doorknob to hang my purse on. Good feed back so made a couple as gifts.
I'm home caring for my adult son who has a very rare neurodegenerative disease, almost never get to leave the house. I am a die hard thrifter and used to sell mid-century too. I really love your videos and living vicariously through you. I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel. I truly miss buying, selling, and traveling but like you, recognize this is what my life is supposed to be, at least for now.
Sending you a virtual hug! Acceptance is so hard when we had a different idea of what our life would be like. I’m so sorry for the hardships you face ❤️ A caregiver is the most selfless role. This is not a similar situation, but I like to share this because nothing is ever as perfect or easy as it seems through a lens. My husband and I spent a decade devastated and desperately trying to conceive and start a family. When we finally accepted this fate, and decided to build a different life than we planned, it blossomed into a beautiful thing. I am honored to get the opportunity to take you thrifting on our adventures with us ❤️ Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year!! ❤️😘
@@leftcoastrevivals ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for your kind words and thank you for what you do for so many ppl. Hoping one day to come along on a group trip!
Option 2 for the wooden candle holders. You could use some of the medallion things for hanging a picture from. Would add extra interest, especially on your lion gallery wall.
Good haul! The box of "knobs" are Victorian curtain tie backs. They were screwed onto the wall or window trim and in the daytime you would push the heavy brocade or velvet curtain behind them, and leave shear or lace curtains hanging inside. They are sold by the pair. Using them as display for bags is possible but some are relatively weak. You could also use them to hang a painting with a long chain or ribbon in a gallery wall, if they can structurally support the weight of the object.
I used one similar to your found "knobs" for hanging a Persian tapestry rug. I screwed it directly into the wall and picked up a heavy tasseled curtain tie-back to use as the hanger letting the tassels fall into the center of the tapestry. It turned out so pretty!
Laura, I really look forward to your videos and this one did not disappoint! I believe the church depicted in that ornate frame is the Maria Gern pilgrimage Church in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany. It’s called a pilgrimage church because either a miracle occurred there, or possibly it has relics, or saints are buried there. I don’t know the reason in this case.
It is the Maria Gern Church in Bavarian Alps, Berchtesgaden, Germany--a pink church, so beautiful! And it looks like a vintage Christmas card. Can’t wait to see what Laura does with this piece!
Love the tiebacks. I have 3 very similar. I took the 3rd one, hung it very high on the wall and wrapped a 5 foot huge tassel from it. Very dramatic and got tons of compliments. I have a consignment booth and resale on line too. You have inspired me and helped me hone in my niche. I live in Florida, my inventory is different from yours but I love everything you buy and sell. Thanks!!
Option 2 UA-cam is a lot of where I learn. I don’t live anywhere near antique stores.. So every morning I watch all my favorite shoppers and I always learn so much.. Thank you for your knowledge ❤
Another Ga. girl ! When I was a reseller I never bought something that I wouldn't use in my own house . Then if it doesn't sell you can use it . I tried so hard to sell this new copy of an old box for letters or candles. etc. It just would not sell . I became a diabetic and all my supplies fit perfectly inside . You never know !.
I like option #2, but you could change it weekly to make things interesting. Also you could mount the tie backs on the wall and hang pictures from them with a ribbon hanger or velvet. That would feel so France chic. Hoping I get over to the Antique Mall in Vegas.
I like Option # 2. Some of your finds I question in my mind, but then when you style them they all look so good together. You’re very talented and your love shines through. ❤
This Ga girl lovs her Left Coast MCM/HOBO star!! So encouraging! My husband and I are trying to go one one of your adventures! We will miss Japan but will try the next! Thanks for my wonderful items I get from you! Such a GOOD EYE! Such quality!Keep it coming!
Thank you so much for the love!! 🥹❤️ I hope to continue hosting a few trips a year m, we’d love for have you join us on one someday!! I’ve got a few more being planned for fall of 2024 so stay tuned for those announcements 😆
The harvest table is everything!! Love it. You could use the knobs on an old door to hang jewelry from. You could even add a rod for linens or scarves.
Laura, I grew up with late 60’s - 70’s furniture, wasn’t a big fan of it as a little girl, but now, love it! Went to Japan 5 years ago and absolutely loved it! People are so lovely, gardens spectacular, food exceptional and no litter, just love it! Plan on going back next year, can’t wait!
Option 2..! Laura, I just love all the cool pottery you find, I love to thrift shop with my friends and I know it would be a FUN day thrifting with You...! Bless You Always and Happy Finds..!
I think I'm the only one on here that likes option #1 the best, but that's my fav! Great picking Laura! I was a young adult in the 1970s when I got my first place all my own...a little 1930s cottage in Altadena, CA. I had many of the things back then that you collect now, but I didn't appreciate them until I saw how you cherish and style them. Wish I'd kept some of those things! My style is 1950s kitsch but I sure appreciate what you do too!
I’m not a big fan of mid century modern but have to say you have a good eye for certain pieces and decorate well! I enjoy your enthusiasm and it s nice to see someone following their passion!
I like option #2 on the wood candle holders lol I love your channel! You like the things I like and you are so good at teaching us what to look for. I’ve watched a lot of antique and thrifting channels lately and many pick up things I’m not interested in while they pass by things I like and they don’t all explain what they know and how to spot things. Thank you ❤️
Hi Laura, I recently found your channel. I'm in Greenville SC and just starting to resell (agian) and I'm finding so much inspo in your videos! SO true about what you said going to antique stores and reading tags to learn!!! Your style ,especially your kitchen is BEYOND- very Anthropologie- "esque". You really scored at in that thrift store w/ the sterling silver , Loved your table setting and that pine table is amazing! WOW 🤩
I wait every week for my fav to post and when I get the notification I get so darn excited! This was a great video (as always!) I know i say it every time but I just LOVE your spirit!
Thank you Vivienne! I’m on a road trip (made it to Las Vegas) and I’m so excited to start sharing what I’ve found so far!! New long video coming next week 😁
The candle holder on your kitchen island is fantastic! Looks like two snakes in hats 😆 The curly wire picture frame is vintage folk art; I have a small collection of candle votives done in the same method. They were made by a friend's grandmother in the 1950s using recycled tin cans, adorned as yours is by old bits of jewelry. The work in them is phenomenal, amazing what people made before they had TV.
I love watching your videos as they remind me of my childhood family decor! Please keep them coming! Would you mind telling me what you use to condition your wooden cutting boards!
I was at the Charleston Antique Mall this morning, I walked inside and all over and never saw you?? Your post said 8-3 so I was there at 8 unitl 9 ish and no one knew anything about you coming inside.. I was sad that I did not get to see you.. I have a 70's room in my home and I love it, you have inspired me and you have such a neat sense of style..
Hi Linda, I’m so sorry we didn’t run into each other today!! The mall is so big! Jesse and I were there all day until closing 😢 We we’re all over the place inside and out. I’m so sorry we missed you! ❤️
Wonderful finds Always 2 looks great wow finding Sterling silver jewellery for $2 unbelievable but very lucky girl you are,Enjoy your vlog, stay well ❤😊

Me too, I feel the same way😂
Agree

I typically like much older furniture (pre WW2) But have come to appreciate MSM pottery etc. I just squeeze into being MSM myself 😂
I feel,the same way ! I never hated the 60 & 70’s style , I suppose I never thought about it in my own home !
I like option 2 for the teak candle sticks. Great finds!

I agree. I’d watch anything Laura did on YT because of her bright and shining spirit. Some day I hope to book a trip with her.
I vote Option #3 for the candle sticks. They form a lady silhouette in the negative space between :)
Just what I thought!
Definitely #3!
I like option #2 - wavy vibes 🙂
Option 2. Love all your styling tips. Suggestion for the curtain tie backs: use them to display fabric over your staging table, Triangle style. One high in the middle and one on each side. Drape fabric over and easy to swap out.

Hi Laura good morning happy Saturday morning and happy weekend and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter

Yaaayyy a Laura video!! Just the thing to brighten up a rainy afternoon...Thanks!
The carved lady is amazing! I vote for #3 on the candles. I'm so glad to see Curiosities, I LOVE that place! Great video, ty!
That painting, the girl/lady with the cat, is beyond gorgeous.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Oh, and I like option 3 because it looks like they're dancing. Gives me a happy feeling
Love all your finds and your way of styling. 😊I pick option #2.
I used one similar to your found "knobs" for hanging a Persian tapestry rug. I screwed it directly into the wall and picked up a heavy tasseled curtain tie-back to use as the hanger letting the tassels fall into the center of the tapestry. It turned out so pretty!

Option 2. Love the way the cemetery stands out with the over all eclectic look
Love the tiebacks. I have 3 very similar. I took the 3rd one, hung it very high on the wall and wrapped a 5 foot huge tassel from it. Very dramatic and got tons of compliments. Love the tassel hanger idea!
I was thinking it would be beautiful with a fiber art hanging on it too
I am looking for something similar to drape fabric around my window.
Your table behind you is fabulous! I love it!
Everything is beautiful! As to the candlesticks, eve though I like all the options, #3 is my favorite because the open space looks like an hour glass😊
3 for sure
I choose option 3 for the candlesticks. The negative space in between them looks like a woman’s hourglass figure. Love the table, good score!
That's exactly what I thought!
Option #2 for me, as ALWAYS love your style! I also love that you share your knowledge!🥰
Option 3! Take care darling xx
Option 2

They’re so cute!!! I had never found one like it before 😍
Option 3, Laura!
I love watching your videos as they remind me of my childhood family decor! Please keep them coming! Would you mind telling me what you use to condition your wooden cutting boards!
Choice #1. I think I'd pull the lighthouse picture out and put one of those big brass knobs in the center. I think it would be awesome together.
I was at the Charleston Antique Mall this morning, I walked inside and all over and never saw you?? Good Saturday morning Laura. Excellent video. Your thrifting skills are absolutely impeccable. Thanks for sharing a look at your latest finds. 😉😉👍👍
The space between the candlesticks in Option 1 looks like the silhouette of one of your ladies!
Wonderful finds Always 2 looks great wow finding Sterling silver jewellery for $2 unbelievable but very lucky girl you are,Enjoy your vlog, stay well ❤😊
I like option 3 for the candle holder!
Also I believe the large knobs are curtain holdbacks❤
Love my left coast girl🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I like option 2 for the candlesticks. Beautiful! You could also use the knob for coats, jackets, and sweaters.
