@@quantumparadox3075 No it wasn’t. The mausoleum, although designed by Greek architects, was built by and for Mausolus, a native Anatolian from Caria and a satrap in the Achaemenid Empire who earlier conquered the native Anatolian kingdom of Lycia from where the design actually originates. Lycians were also not Greek, but Anatolian natives speaking a form of Luwian language. Not everything in Turkey originates from Greeks, despite the Greeks’ claims.
A fun fact that even if the mausoleum at Halicarnassus got destroyed in an earthquake most of the building was still standing as a ruin until Knights of St. John came and decided to build a castle by using the ruins!! You are so mistaken... Never occupied by Greeks! Because its simply the Greeks land; because the Greeks were there since ever, no one was living there except Greeks from the beginning, neither Greeks never conquered any other nation in this region of the world during ancient times, even prehistoric period. Therefore, Greeks were there from the beginning with their most great civilization, mathematics, astronomy, health and sciences! Of course before Romans, before Persians come to conquer Greeks... Its so easy to learn today all about the history and facts I referred to you.
Andrexuman your assumption is that there was no one living in the current day Turkey????.. So the ancient Greeks were there alone... ok sounds plausible..
According to historical maps, the Byzantine (Ancient Greeks) included all of modern day turkey, Greece, southern Italy and northern regions in Africa..
Mar Kav Correct to a point... Ancient Greeks ruled the region but there were other tribes scattered all over the region. We must not forget the people from other regions traveled for trade and some settled there.. I agree the Persians came much later, after they themselves were defeated earlier by Alexander. The entire region of Italy, Greece, Turkey had many ruling cultures over time..
Did you show your expertise in Turkish while in Greece? Actually, the entire Med and Aegean coastal towns are fabolous in Turkey not to mention elsewhere.
I feel so sorry that I could not make it this summer to Bodrum, I live in Istanbul, maybe next summer i will go for a long trip in order to discover this beautiful country, thank you for your video

I adore this nation so much! visited Capadocia, Istamb, Pamukkale, and more last summer! Would adore seeing Bodrum. Would also like to stay there for a while.
A better title for your video is: a tour in Bodrum city old center | is it worth it? Bodrum has plenty of beautiful bays, each with their own characteristics. Like Gündogan, Türkbükü, Akyarlar, Gümüslük,.. The title of your video does not represent the video content, as you claim a TOUR Of Bodrum, but actually you just walked around a bit in the old city center. However, Bodrum doesn't need more PR as it is crowded enough during high season.

Lezbiyen misin? Gökkuşağı falan ondan sordum
Nice looking place there Gabe.. Not surprised there are Greek ruins in Turkey. The ancient Greeks occupied the entire region.. Safe Travels... :)
Mar Kav by definition to inhabit a region is to occupy it and the tribal people that were there...
Visited this beautiful city in 2015. Unfortunately only spent a day. Loved it 💗
Did you show your expertise in Turkish while in Greece? Actually, the entire Med and Aegean coastal towns are fabolous in Turkey not to mention elsewhere.
Hahaaa!... Good catch. I noticed that too. It's like going to U.S. and talking in Russian.
The triangle on the Sphinx is the letter delta Δ (δ), which corresponds to the English letter D (d).
Thanks.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos btw its very similar to the letter Д in Russian which is also sounds like D.
and it is a greek letter
Crazy Duck

Good job Gabriel, Thanks a lot from Buenos Aires, Argentina....
Triangle is delta n it’s a greek word n it’s the fourth letter in greek. Theorthro, in Goa theyart is also a word used for folk dramas. Kind of open theatre
Sure....oh Gabriel...you didn't know
wow....it seems like a small but amazing place. Turkey is definitely on top of my agenda after Covid-19 is over. You explained it very nicely....happy travelling...thank you
Me to! I can't wait to go and visit Turkey!
Ha! COVID won't be over for a long time!😆
Bodrum, Muğla, Foça the landscapes are identical to the Greek village landscapes, let alone the deep blue sea water...
Look very beautyful, haven't been there
Went to Bodrum for two weeks back in 2010. Not as lively as Marmaris but more civilised. My friend and I enjoyed our stay. Best place for us was Bar street.
Lot of Greek History there!Nice Video!Keep going!
I were there few years ago turkey is a beautiful country
Beautiful place. My dream travel destination. 😊💖
As a turk I have been to the touristy part of bodrum for some reason foreigners were eating at mcdonalds and not the local restaurants

It's their lost!
Turkey very very beautiful place❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Turkey, one of the most beautiful countries ❤
Omg Gabe you're doing pretty much the same travel route that I've done this summer.. I went from Rhodos to Symi to Nysiros to Kos to Bodrum, then flew to Crete! Enjoy Turkey but next time you're in Greece make sure to visit the Ionians...Lefkada, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Zankynthos are calling your name.
Bagdagul Temur 👏👏😷😢
You don't seem very friendly as people thing of Turkish people.
Hi Gabriel! Amazing video, thanks for sharing, greetings from Crete!
I want to tour Turkey ! Inşallah !
İnşallah is not Turkish! “Umarım” is the Turkish translation for “I hope”.
@@_oceanistic_ God willing, right??
vegassgurl the proper Turkish translation for God willing is “Kısmetse”.
@@_oceanistic_ Teşekkürler arkadaşım, bilmiyorum. I have a lot to learn 😁
vegassgurl 😁
I can't believe the quality of your videos with just a GOPRO HERO 7. Amazing travel content. You have it sussed Gabriel.
Sweet, glad to hear it's looking good.
