I saw the premier of this song. Fami Killing it and fitting in nicely. Their CD and DVD are due out August 23, 2023.
Do Stand and Deliver Music Video for Fami strutting her skills on bass.
Ahahahahah, all the people that watch Lovebites, specially the reactors said: This is my favourite song so far, until the next one!
Lovebites is back, locked and loaded. Yes, they are beyond belief.
Just now discovered your channel Doc. Retired OS1 ( SW ) myself. Fami definitely took that bass position for herself. That smile of hers is electric. And the smile and thumbs up Asami gave her was priceless. Of course, Midori and Miyako were perfect once again. and Asami's vocals wow. But Haruna ( The Little Big Engine ) drums. She's insanely good. Not sure if you have checked out Band-Maid or Nemophila yet. I highly suggest that you do. And go see Band Maid they are in the states right now. Not sure exactly where. I have seen them 3 times. Dallas, Houston and Austin. Great shows. Nemophila puts on a great show to. I saw them in Dallas.
I think I might actually have Band Maid in my watch list. I will say this, Lovebites has certainly set the bar very high, but I think I can trust the word of a shipmate that they are worth a look.
@@NavyDoc5184Reacts I drove to Dallas Austin and Houston to see them. Shortest trip was a 6 hr round trip. With today's gas prices I wouldn't do that for any ole band. FYI Lovebites has one premiering tomorrow morning. From their new live concert video.
That definitely is a sign of some serious dedication!
They are the best live performing heavy metal band, they love playing live more than making video, you can see it on their faces, they are happy to be back on stage and perform to live audiences, i love them lovebites rules!
Miho also did that on the bass during her performance on this song only difference is the tecknique Fami and Miho used on the same bass riff
Does it matter? This is a reaction with Fami in it. Miho has nothing to do with it.
@@mmcpa What he is trying to say is that the bass fills are written into the song, not something that Fami improvised on. The only difference is HOW it is being played. Miho's left hand was more playing the single notes while playing with her fingers, while Fami made a chord out of it while slapping with her thumb. There is more than one way to play the same progression, and that is what he is saying here.
@athlonen that's exactly the impression I was getting.
Thanks for more LOVEBITES. Their album, tour & concert disk names are a bit unique.
This performance followed release of "Judgement Day" CD.
Two performances in March titled "We Are The Resurrection" tour.
(Same as opening song on Judgement Day CD, but not performed at these shows)
The Blu-Ray/DVD/CDs of this show is titled "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate"
This summer "Judgement Day" tour is from August 26 - October 5th
Any concert disks will probably have a name starting with "L" since they have followed the 26 letter Latin-script alphabet as can be seen in the successive releases below.
examples:
Awakening From Abyss/Battle Against Damnation CDs brought "Battle in the East" concert disks
Clockwork Immortality brought "Daughters of the Dawn" concert disks
Electric Pentagram CD brought "Five of a Kind" concert disks.
Glory, Glory to the World CD brought "Heavy Metal Never Dies" concert disks
Fami and Midori going at it like that is the same thing Fami and Midori did in the original live recording of this song
"...same thing [Miho] and Midori did..." ?
The thing about this piece, is that it is off of their first Album, so this is a song that Miho helped to write and record. You may see another video of this with Miho, which is also great, as contrary to what some other posters down below may suggest, both Miho and Fami bring their own uniqueness to this song as well as the band. Miho was definitely the Mama Bear.. more like Mama Wolf of this band. She started it with Haruna, and honestly, will always be a part of the foundation of this band. She headbangs, and it shows, especially in this piece, as it sounds like classic Anthrax.
Fami.. the thing about her is that she almost gave up playing bass. She went on hiatus after trying multiple things and just couldn't find the right people, or sound. When Miho left, she auditioned, and as you can see, got the job. She really hadn't played to much of a live audience of this size, So this was not only her first live appearance with the band, but THIS IS THE FIRST SONG IN THE SET! So she's playing Miho's fills, and the entire bass progression after the solo, and NAILED IT. That's why you saw Miyako - who is normally very stoic - and Asami getting the crowd going, because this was the biggest test for Fami. If she nailed it, everything else is all downhill. The look and smile of motherly approval from Asami and the thumbs up said it all. Fami is the Wolf cub who found her Wolf Pack.
Mama wolf is definitely accurate in regards to Miho lol. I know whenever a band/group has a lineup change people will have their favorites and whatnot, but one thing I can say for certain is that Fami is a worthy successor to Miho, and this performance proved it!
Really should also react to this song with Miho on bass to really be able to compare the 2 bassists
Miho left the band two years ago. She obviously now lives in your head. She chose not to be a band member, yet every day I see people referring to her as if she hadn’t. Imagine how Fami feels being constantly judged in Miho’s shadow.
If they had waited for Miho's return, LOVEBITES would have collapsed at that point.
You can imagine that it must have been quite a decision for Miho to leave the group, while understanding the seriousness of bandreader's departure.
Can't you leave Miho alone gently to ease her mind?
The remaining members decided to revive the group, found Fami, and thanks to Fami's addition to LOVEBITES, LOVEBITES fans are now able to enjoy the group.
@@alekhidell wow, dude. Just wow. The animosity here is palpable. Miho lives on in this band with the music she wrote and recorded, that Fami is now able to play and make her own. She is also still part of the sisterhood she has with the band, as well as with the fans, just as Fami is. She didn't "choose" to not be a band member; you have to realize that during the time she was in the band, she lost her father. Anyone would have to respect needing time away from whatever they are doing to deal with that in any way that they choose, and the ladies saw and respected that. Obviously, from your post here, it's clear that you haven't respected that, and think that shadows are there for Fami to live under.
@@athlonen There’s no animosity at all. But continuing to make comparisons is a pointless waste of energy, energy better directed towards supporting the band and the band members who are currently pushing the band forward.
This song is off their first album and usually follows an instrumental intro called The Awakening. You should check out the live version from their Five of a Kind 2020 show The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath (Live 2020)
ua-cam.com/video/otJZPUCwyOM/v-deo.html It's the opener of the encore and the crowd is stoked.
they also have a live of this with Miho The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath
Lita Ford and Nita Strauss were individuals in male bands. They weren't in an all female band. The top female only heavy metal bands are Lovebites, Burning Witches, Nemophila, VoB, and several other Japanese bands. There are probably more but those are the ones that I know of.
Princess princess
They from The 80's 5 females and they rock
But lovebites Are The best

@@olevirkelysthansen8131 Pri-pri is too poppy even to be a rock band, and had a just one big hit.
@@gatograto 2 hits Diamant and 19growing up
@@olevirkelysthansen8131 I don't think those were big hits, and they are hardly a rock band anyway.

ランナウェイズやヴィクセンが日本のガールズバンドに与えた影響が強すぎました。

Fami rhymes with "Mommy" is what experts on her have said

Listen Navy, if you really want to experience the skills & talents of Fami, please check out & react to Fami's bass cover to the song "Alien Alien" Guaranteed to leave you awe-struck !!!
I actually remember someone suggesting that one to me when I brought up possibly doing a fan vote tournament for best bass player.
If you want more backing vocals, try Empty Daydream :)

Suggestion - turn the volume up on the video - it is much lower than your mic.
Miho is great and all, but.... Few can match young Jedi Fami on the bass guitar.
Yeah, Fami is great. No comparison to founder, leader, composer, lyricist, international-touring-performer Miho. Get a perspective, please. Fami is playing Miho's bass lines.
No offense intended, but your premise is preposterous, imo.
A 'new girlfriend' will never compare to your Mother, without whom you would not exist.
@@dregeyeMiho is not a Lovebites member. Fami is. Deal with it.
@@alekhidell Without Miho, there would be no LoveBites. Deal with it.
@@dregeye You are correct, there is no comparison. They play different styles. Any new player plays the music previously written, so that's nothing special. IMO, Fami is just a better fit with Lovebites for several reasons, some I won't delve into. What I will say is her technical playing style works better with Miyako & Midori. Just listen to the solo section of "Judgement Day". No offense to Miho, but she could not have pulled off what Fami did, because Miho is a classic old school style metal bassist, and she's said so herself.
@@athlonen correct. But for once can her cult followers not just accept what she herself chose, and direct their energies towards her replacement. If she hadn’t left, that wouldn’t be necessary. But she did…so it is.
First.
