I used to draw years ago but stopped. Always wanted to paint but thought it was beyond me. Just came across this channel recently & it has inspired me. Thank you
Wow, thank you: you are so brilliant you make it look easy - I haven't tried yet but I bet it isn't! And although I'm english and couldn't understand what you said (had to have translation to read) I love your quiet calm voice: so relaxing. I was very frazzled and tired and in pain and your painting and voice soothed me, many thanks.
I love this Chanel. Straight to the point….. no introduction bc this man is a master and delightfully to the point…. Not asking you to hit the bell and subscribe and yet I hit the bell and subscribed. Is there a patreon? I need to support this artist! Thank you sir.
Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us, Grant. This was so helpful. Do you have any hints specifically for autumn trees/colors? I plan to paint lots of fall foliage and would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again for any suggestions.
I've just watched your demonstration on painting a simple tree. I've tried mixing your original green from raw sienna and cobalt blue without success. I've added more colour, less and more water, artist and student colour - still no success! Do you have any idea on what I am doing wrong? Looking forward to your advice. Ivor
+Ivor Dainow I am using Winsor Newton Cobalt Blue and Raw Sienna but the internet and computer monitors affect colour so don't worry about it matching perfectly, just get colours that are pleasing to you.
Nope, it wont. All you got to do is add more pigment and less water than previous layers. You might find the same suggestion on the one of the same artist's tutorials. Happy watercolor painting!!
Very nice! Two colors, three values, great lesson, wish I saw this this years ago!

But what do you do about the pencil strokes showing through/around the tree?
I usually just leave them, it's all part of the artwork.
Thank you for answering!
Grant Fuller it‘s great, you make it amazon, also great to leave the lines

I feel like I'm washing, waiting, then almost dry-brushing, and it still happens to me. I'll try again.
OOOps, sorry: this comment I just put up was for Shibasaki's watercolour trees vid. I haven't watched yours yet...
